  1. If we want him make him a fair offer- if he rejects it move on. Let's face it two weeks ago we all thought he was average. We have just whipped ourselves into a frenzy over this dude.
  2. Gents they are clearly interested, and have a plan. Any statements made by DW on the radio do not necessarily reflect reality. It is also a very fluid situation. If the make an offer they have to wait 5 or 7 days. That means there is 5-7 days where the team is in limbo while other players are available and other trade offers come up. The Eagles guard in particular. Long and short of it is, that we need to have faith in our front office and be patient.
  3. I am really surprised that CJ has not gotten more interest. Although his production never lived up to the hype, it seems that someone would be willing to overpay him in this market.
  4. Fred's very presence makes this team better. He is the ultimate professional. Doesn't matter what the score was Freddy always played his heart out. Props to you Freddy - you are the most important Bill since the golden era of the 1990s.
  5. EJ for the New England ball boy. Very small cap hit and his actions will be a benefit in every game.
  6. America is a great country. Were else can you get $4.75 million a year for being crappy at your job. Agreed that if he is our opening day starter then we have bigger trouble than any running backs, receivers or o line can fix. I know there are no options out there, but I would rather sign a cardboard cut out of Joe Montana instead!!
  7. One thing seems apparent. If the Bills think he is worth the money and a good move for the team they will make the move. Very untypical of the old regime where it was all about the cash. What a refreshing change!
  8. The fact that we are even talking about spending money is a refreshing change. We may swing and miss on some FA but it's exciting to know that we have an owner willing to spend what it takes to try and win in this league.
  9. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, without a smoking gun the NFL will remain the Pats lap dog. Folks as Bills fans we are use to disappointment. Be assured that the NFL "investigation" will be a disappointment. The only one who looks good in all this is Richard Sherman. The guy had the guts to say what everyone knows but is afraid to say. He will likely be the only on penalized out of all this.
  10. Bradford or Foles, either are markedly better than what we have now. In the end I think Foles is staying where he is.
  11. That would be a great problem to have. It would mean that all those players are performing.
  12. I think it's cute that you guys think the NFL would do anything substantial to New England. I have been saying it for years- this league is fixed! Maybe not in the traditional sense, but these refs know they will get called to the mat if they make questionable calls against the wrong organization. If this is true, and I don't think we will ever get the real answer, they will get minimum fine and maybe lose a mid to late round pick. Trust me when I tell you, if the Bills, Lions, Rams, Jaguars or any other "no name" or "irrelevant" team got caught, there would be forfeits, suspensions, draft picks and lifetime bands. The NFL is barely better then the WWF.
  13. Beats "Assistant Head Coach- Fry Supervisor McDonalds"- barely. Good luck you turn coat. Sometime you reap what you sow
  14. Sounds like Mehta has affinity for Rex- unlike Marrone- btw is Marrone to the jets dead?
  15. Simply stated- he is a dick. The guy is classless. Pagula handled it well- although he was probably stunned. He will cut and run on the jets within a couple if years just like he did in buffalo and cuse- Btw bad mouthing the organization on the way out of dodge will make any owner think twice about hiring him. History usually repeats itself.
  16. I say good riddence - we have been debating getting rid if this guy for weeks and he up and quits. He did the organization a favor - his heart wasn't in it. He turned and ran from buffalo the say way he did from cuse. Obviously the players feel he wuit on them. Within 2 years the nfl will blackball him. Billionaires tend to get a bit pissed when you screw with them.
  17. I agree that you would have to find someone. Usually, this involves opening the checkbook- something Ralph never did on coaches or front offices. There is no simple fix here. The lack of a front office and coaches is a problem that was years in the making. As opposed to getting a retread or another "marrone" you may have to be patient and wait. If Marrone decides to go they we have no choice but to find the best available now. If the right person isn't there then Marrone stays. For me- I have seen enough of him to realize he is not going to take us to the top of the mountain. Maybe with a new OC, he proves me wrong. I would be fine with being proven wrong!!
  18. Does anyone see losing Marone as a real loss. This offense has regressed a lot under his brief tenure. You could actually see it getting worse by the game. The offensive line (his specialty area) was atrocious. Despite getting new receiving weapons and a multitude of free agents and draft picks along the o line, things got worse. Despite the acquisitions of Dixon and Brown, the running game got worse. Is all this on DW- i think not. As has been discussed for years, this starts from the top down. The Bills have a history of putting no money into their front office and coaches. This is the end result. The sooner Pagula realizes this the better. It will be a long term thing, but you need to start somewhere. I would not have an issue keeping DW, but Marrone has shown he is outclassed. At an absolute minimum, Hackett needs to go. I really can't believe he has not been canned yet. I am reasonably convinced most people who post on this board can do a better job.
  19. I agree to some degree that the team's culture has changed. The guys are still playing hard. The defense is sensational. The offense is some word that is worse than pathetic. I know, I'm captain obvious. With that being said, assuming the Bills beat Oakland and lose to NE, Marrone is back with the condition that Hackett must be replaced. The offense literally could not be worse.
  20. Tends to either have a very good game or is a complete non factor. Nagging injuries are a problem, but is willing to play through them. At this point, he has not justified the substantial cost incurred by the Bills to move up to get him- especially given the performance of other first round WR picks. Still too early to tell whether he will be the talent that the Bills brass thought he would be. I can see this guy making substantial strides over the next two years, IF he stays healthy. All in all, I would give him a 7 for his rookie year.
  21. Gents- let's get real. They need to beat the Pats and the Pack. Even if that were possible on a even field (which is doubtful), the refs would never let it happen. Possible, plausible, very possible, moderately possible. Who cares? We are all aware of the situation. Why argue over semantics? I think the actual sentiment of the OP was spot on. Seems like most on here have written this team off, and are more than delighted to boast about it to no end. Why? Umm History.
  22. Well that's why the play the games. The problem is that Buffalo has absolutely zero offense. The only player currently producing on that side of the ball is Woods. According to everyone Sammy is a baller, but I have not seen it at all (insert your excuses here)! The defense has been winning games by forcing opposing quarterbacks to make mistakes. That works periodically with many qb's in this league, but getting it to work against Manning, Rodgers and Brady is just unrealistic. If this team has any chance at all, the Offense needs to score touchdowns not fieldgoals. We shall wish, but I am realistic that the next four games will result in 1-3
  23. It seems as if people on these boards will rip your head off if you say anything remotely criticizing the trade, because they feel that you are criticizing Sammy. That is not necessarily the case. Sammy has clearly shown himself to be a talent, a hard worker, a person capable of playing through pain, and an all around good role model. Frankly, he is a talented good teammate. With that being said, we could not analyze the trade. Sammy's numbers are not much different from a number of while receivers that would have been available to us at the tenth pick in the first round. You can argue that others have a better quarterback, or that others have a better line ect, but numbers are numbers. This game is about production. Sammy has produced, but he has not yet shown that he is the game changer that he was advertised to be. Can he be someday- yes I think so, but it is way to early to say this was a good deal that Whaley made. Let's be honest and call it what it is- where does the evidence take us. Well, it's pretty clear. The team had no owner. The front office and coaching staffs felt their jobs were in danger. They banked on EJ and thought that Sammy and EJ were the future. EJ turned out not to be the guy (at least in St. Doug's mind- and everyone else who saw him play). Sammy - at least at this point is not the game changer we thought he would be. So here we are. Fifteen years in a row without a playoff appearance. Hell, we haven't even been a threat to make the playoffs by late November. Facts are facts folks. Something has to give. If we are going to change the regime it must be done by paying and bringing proven quality people into the organizations. We can't bring in another group of "young guys that everyone wants", or mediocre college coaches, or "has been" older guys. We need to spend the cash and hire the folks with proven track records. No- I don't know who those people are at this point, or who would be available after the season ends, but that's clearly what is needed. Marone is a disaster. The writing was on the wall. Yes he was the OC of the high power Saints offense, but he wasn't the play caller, he was Payton's underling. Syracuse is not a good division 1 program. It was a huge leap from there to the NFL. He was packaged and sold to us as the hot prospect. The reality of it is- he would still be a .500 guy at Syracuse if the Bills were not looking for a coach on the cheap. Whaley is a great guy, but he is not quite ready for prime time in the NFL. Brandon is not a football guy. So the question is : Is Terry ready to pay the price for real culture change at OBD? Is he ready to open the checkbook and pay for talented people? Can he sell the Bills to these talented people? Until then, we are doomed to more of the same with a revolving door of lower tier coaches and front office personnel- hoping against hope for a miracle. Just my two cents on where the evidence leads us.
  24. Bit of a stretch to call him a phenom - solid rookie so far- take me to the playoffs and carry the team on your shoulder then we'll start to talk
