Trade him after this year and get what you can for him, even a 3rd rounder. This guy will get caught again and get a 1 year (or is it 10 game) suspension. He has proven twice that he is untrustworthy. To think his behavior will now change is negligent. This team needs to stop depending on him or they will be in the same situation year after year. So don't trade him to make an example out of him, trade him because it is good for the team- long term. Wait until the end of the year to maximize his value and use him for whatever good we can. Get rid of him on the Bills timeline- not his.

I, and may other people out there lost their parents young, and have had tragedy in there life. I never said he was a bad guy. Stupid- yes, selfish- yes. He wanted the money and he got it, be a man and earn it. This franchise has not made the playoffs in 17 years. We drafted this guy very high, paid him handsomely. If he wants the cash, he has to face the heat.

What are you talking about. This guy had the audacity to complain about his contract. He gets his cash and now does this stuff. I think I know enough about him to make a judgment that he is selfish and immature at best, and just doesn't care at worst. It's really getting hard to like this team. What a joke this guy is. Remember just one year ago, while facing a suspension for being stupid he was all pissed about not getting a contract extension and throwing a fit. I understand it's the pre season and if it were the regular season he would probably be able to go, but man is this team made out of glass or what. Very frustrating. Some of it is just bad luck, but there must be somethings the strength and conditioning program could do to help further reduce risks.

Just think if McCoy didn't get himself a smart lawyer all three running backs could have started the year suspended. The statement itself is true. However, a GM of a football team should be smart enough not to make the statement. I'm sure the league (his employer) is not too happy.

The reality is that if he misses all preseason and 4-5 regular season games, I doubt there will be much production out of him. It's really a red shirt year. It is unrealistic to expect a rookie missing all that time to be productive when he plays at this level. We could wish all we want, but let's be realistic. The Bills either duped us or they were duped.

This is awful news. Very hard to believe that this guy could be productive at all this year. I can't understand how they would not have known this. If we were going to red shirt our first pick this year, I would rather have Myles Jack or Jaylon Smith. If he really did get hurt at a non-contact OTA, that is an even worse sign. Well the euphoria of the draft didn't last long. 1st pick already needing surgery. The next excuse he can't play because he is healing, followed by he is not having a great year because he couldn't make training camp. That will likely be followed by the term "bust". I hate to be doom and gloom but this team is cursed or had horrible management, or both. Get ready for another long season folks!

I was looking at some tape yesterday. I do want a lot of college ball but have never been able to see what makes an NFL player. I thought Shaq Lawson looked very good from the film I saw. He is always near the ball and is incredibly quick on his feet.

Just sitting here again thinking about how incredibly stupid this kid is. Innocent or not, being out drinking at 2:45 am and just not walking away when things get heated makes you think that he's just plain dumb or that he doesn't really care. Either way for the amount he is being paid, the fact that we actually gave him a raise before he got his uniform and his lack of production (mainly due to injury), I think there is justification for canning him and living with the financial consequences. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Shady's best possible outcome is to open the check book and pay these guys off so that they will not cooperate with the prosecution. Perhaps then the prosecution goes away. Frankly, I have had enough of the guy. First season he gets a big pay raise, and was hurt too frequently. Outside of a few good games, he really had no impact on the season. May be time to consider cutting ties. Just a guess but someone who exhibits this type of judgement is not going to change anytime soon.

Not looking good for Shady. At best it's just another exercise in poor judgment. At worse, his career is over and we are left again to pick up the pieces. If he is jailed, do the Bills still owe him guaranteed money and does it count against the cap??

If that's truly the way he feels, trade him now and get what you can for him.
