  1. I'm almost starting to wonder if Josh isn't concussed? The picks we've seen in the past two weeks aren't about a bum throwing elbow or whatever. They are inexplicable, especially that first throw yesterday. It's as if he didn't recognize a Jets player was there. Concerning.
  2. This is Josh Allen. He just had a hot 2.5 years. All kidding aside, I'm going to blame the bye. We did the exact same thing last season coming off the bye. The team seems to lose focus and isn't sharp at all the few weeks after the bye. For now, I'm going to trust Josh and the coaches to get it figured out and get this thing back on the rails.
  3. Josh is the window. There's a chance he ends up on the Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks before it's all said and done. And if that's the case, you're looking at three or more Super Bowl championships.
  4. Far better offensive line. Better secondary (given our current injuries). Receiver is maybe a wash or slight lean to Eagles. Better RBs. Better tight ends. D-line is fairly even after the Quinn trade. Bills have better linebackers and special teams units. We of course have Josh Allen and they don't.
  5. The Minnesota win is really the only one that stands out as being impressive, and part of me believes that the Vikings are a bit of a paper tiger benefiting from their own weak schedule. There was also the possibility of it being an emotional letdown game for the Vikes after what seemed to be a season defining win week 1 against the Packers. That's not to say that the Eagles aren't possibly a GREAT team. I just don't think they've been tested enough to definitively proclaim that as fact.
  6. The Eagles have a ton of talent. They're probably the best roster in the league top to bottom. And Hurts has progressed. At the end of the day, it really comes down to how dominantly their O and D lines can impose their will over the other contenders, because, absent that, I'm taking Allen and Mahomes over Hurts every day of the week. I've got the Titans and second Dallas games circled on the calendar, since those should serve as litmus tests for what this Eagles team really is.
  7. How many yards will Nyheim Hines have rushing ? 6 yards How many yards receiving? 38 yards Punt returns? 3 for 37 yards Kick off returns ? 0 Touchdowns, how many? 1 receiving A modest, but productive start to his Bills career.
  8. Same here, man. Not sure there was anything more fun as a kid than that feeling of running, hitting and being hit while playing football. It's a total rush and it gives you a sense of confidence and teaches you how to tap into your physical strength and toughness in ways that other popular team sports can't (I ended up playing varsity baseball, basketball and golf instead of football). I know these guys aren't forced to play it and almost all of them LOVE doing it, and view injuries as just part of the game. I still can't help but love watching it, despite knowing the toll it takes on these guys. It's complicated for sure. I have two boys and have never pushed them into football. They're into soccer (which I find boring...lol) and baseball. I'd probably let them play football if they really wanted, but I wouldn't encourage it and I'd try my best to make sure they understood all of the immediate and future risks before they took the field.
  9. Lol. What in this thread made you believe the guy is dead?
  10. I can't believe Conehead is still around (I moved away years ago). Like an earlier poster mentioned, some of my earliest memories are seeing him and the Earl of Bud at the Rockpile at Bisons games as a kid. I loved those games at the Rockpile. Place was usually half empty, so me and the other neighborhood kids would just bounce all over the stadium, trying to find a good spot to snag foul balls. Surprised to see the hate for hockey. Guessing GunnerBill has never been to a game in person. It's the best live sports viewing experience of them all, in my opinion. And this is coming from someone who never played more than after school street and pond hockey as a kid.
  11. California is a huge recruiting hotbed as well. I could easily see youth contact sports being banned here at some time in the not too distant future. Tackle football, like so many things these days, is likely to become a red state/blue state issue.
  12. It's a crappy phone video taken in his car. A bit of an exaggeration to say he looks like a 50 year old meth head. Also, we don't know his entire story (does he have other negative things going on in his life/health, irrespective of the concussion issue?). Only what he's willing to tell us. I do agree though with the basic premise. Football is a brutal sport that has a very high risk of taking a serious toll on the body and mind. As for those who pooh-pooh this stuff and say "these guys are grown men who understand the risk they're taking", keep in mind that these young men are shepherded into the sport from a young age by parents and family, and then once they show promise, are strongly encouraged to continue by family/schools/coaches/agents/friends who are hoping to profit off of them. They are essentially trained from a young age to have zero life/career outside of football. Then throw in the fact that these guys are really young and not mentally mature enough to make wise decisions when it comes to their longterm health when the health risks really ramp up (college and draft), and you have a recipe for future disaster and regret.
  13. I think McBeane are sincere with respect to Shakir, regardless of whether they hand the PR job to Hines. I think with Shakir being a rookie they just want him to be able to devote his full attention to his role as our primary WR backup.
  14. Yep. The guy's been around for a few years. He's an experienced dude. Shouldn't take him long to get up to speed. We'll get a couple of chances to see him with the ball in his hands this week, and the following week should be all systems go.
  15. He's our starting slot receiver. I'd say there's about a zero percent chance of McKenzie being released for OBJ.
  16. Wish he'd spend more time on the playbook. (TBD resident doomers)
  17. You've convinced me. Ray was just a Guy. JK...RIP, Ray Guy.
  18. Exactly. Josh, like myself, only complains when it's 100% legit. Now, Brady and my wife on the other hand...
  19. Good for Isaiah. There just wasn't room here for a guy with his skillset. Hope he sticks for awhile with the Giants.
  20. Not even close. They got 4+ years of Chubb and still were able to flip him for a 1st round pick. Josey Jewell is also still there and starting games at LB.
  21. Bills are 3-0 at home with an average margin of victory of 23.5 points. Line is probably too low to be honest.
  22. Is OBJ even going to be ready to play meaningful snaps this year? Seems like these ACL's are taking longer to come back from than I remembered. I'm a UCLA guy and the school announced this week that two of our basketball players that tore ACL's over a full year ago are still not cleared to play. If he somehow manages to get himself fully healed by say, mid-December, he's still got to pass the physical, get himself up to gamespeed (a few weeks), learn the playbook, etc. So, you're looking at unveiling him in the playoffs? I'm excited about the idea of OBJ in Buffalo, but I just don't think it's likely to happen, or if it does, that it pays any demonstrable dividends this season.
  23. I love our team. We are great. Probably the best in the league (pending the Eagles ever actually facing a good team). But I still hit the "disagree" button on the OP. I know we beat the Chiefs, but I think they are right there with us in terms of talent and coaching and would probably take 40-50% of matchups with us on any given Sunday. We narrowly won the last one, so we currently have the bragging rights, but is anyone here eager to see that team again in a meaningful game (regardless of where it's being played)? I'm still of the opinion that we can play a good-to-very_good game and lose to the Chiefs "great game" (See, for example, 2021 divisional playoff game).
  24. Of course, "I do", but I was talking about most TBD posters.
  25. Better than my deal, which was apparently "no sex as a condition of marriage."
