Josh Allen doesn’t like Domed stadium supports open air
eball replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, I listen to just about every Josh interview/appearance out there and never picked up a “strong preference” for a dome. Of course a QB is going to say he likes to play in perfect conditions, but Josh also understands home field advantage and the “mystique” of teams having to come in to play in difficult circumstances. Josh’s “strong preference” is to win football games in whatever manner he has to, and I don’t think the configuration of the stadium matters very much to him at all. -
My goodness! (view of the sideline after Allen took that shot OOB)

Gotta be careful around Horrible Harry or you’ll get a finger in the bunghole… -

I think Hamlin is a gamer and has made some plays, but damn, that kid misses a LOT of tackles.

After @Rochesterfan’s post the thread should have been closed. Great work. -
I’m pretty happy with the defensive adjustments made at halftime on Saturday. First half, the Bills were clearly trying to take away Tua’s bread and butter throws by forcing receivers outside, and it left them exposed to the run. Second half they brought more pressure and pretty much stuffed the run. Miami’s two TDs in the 2nd half were a busted coverage on Waddle and a short field thanks to Cam Lewis. D then shut them down the rest of the way and allowed Josh to do his thing. I’m not “worried” about the defense at all, and I think as Tre continues to work back into form we’ll see some picks soon. I’m extremely curious about the Micah Hyde situation…nobody is saying anything, but I can’t be the only one with a sneaking suspicion we may see #23 on the postseason roster…

Has Upie turned the corner? If what we’ve seen the last two outings are a sign of what’s to come, this could indeed turn out to be a special season for the swordsmen. Only issue I have with the last two nights is why we’re shutting down in the 3rd. I think the combined shots at Colorado and Vegas in the 3rd were 40-4 or something obscene like that.

Baldy with a couple of breakdowns of the squishing

Yeah, I knew Tre was passing the eye test Saturday night. Every DB gets beat once in a while, especially against a guy like Hill. -
Agree. With Josh at QB, all the Bills' OL really needs to do is prevent blatant jailbreaks.
-
All of the non-primetime games on Saturday will be on the Ticket. It's a non-issue.

I disagree with your premise that any of these examples were "let down" games, and there are reasonable rationales for all of them -- namely, it's hard to win in the NFL. There is a reason why literally EVERY coach says it on an almost weekly basis -- because it's true. I'm surprised you didn't say "Remember the Jags" -- that's probably the only one I can think of that was truly a "huh?" moment during the McD/Josh Allen era.
-
Overboard on the "Cheetah" and "Penguin" crap, and they both completely missed the boat on Motor going down rather than scoring...but otherwise, not terrible.
-
I was encouraged by Tre's play on Saturday night as well. He is not yet back to his pre-injury form but for the first time I sensed he is close.
-
Exactly. Josh is a key component of the Bills' run game. Film at 11.

I think Tua is a really good dude. My only complaint relates to those who want to anoint him a star simply because of his college career. He's a very good QB but I don't think he is "elite" with a "normal" cast of offensive talent around him. Having Hill and Waddle has been the best thing that could have ever happened for him.
-
Steve Young has said a lot of stupid things as a studio announcer. You don't have to believe me...just research it. There are no statistics to back up the notion that good teams lose more often to bad teams the week before a "big" game.

It appears you do not know how to properly quote posts. That was not me.

LOL here we go again. There is no such thing as a “trap game” in the NFL, no matter how many times fans bring it up. Good teams beat bad teams at the same frequency, whether it is before a “hugely important” game or not. In addition, this game is to clinch the AFCE. The Bears will play hard, just as they did yesterday against Philly, but this matchup is particularly bad for Chicago since the Bills don’t typically allow a running QB to beat them — and the Bears have no receivers. Looking forward to an enjoyable Christmas Eve afternoon with the family watching this one.

100% the right call. Chip shot FG with one of the best kickers in the league. Motor would have scored with 35 seconds left, which is too much time when Hill and Waddle are on the other side. -
NFL Week #15 - Fish at Buffalo - Post Game Thread
eball replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
My post-mortem: Full disclosure: I was livid during the 3rd quarter last night. I turned off my phone and went into my bedroom to watch the rest of the game in solitude. The win was a feeling of immense relief. Now, looking back, I have these thoughts. First - Josh is the best player in the league. Period. Second - we miss Hyde in a huge way. Hamlin is a gamer but misses far too many tackles. Third - the Bills dominated the 4th quarter. That tells me more about the makeup of the team than the pathetic display in the 3rd. Fourth - it is indeed possible for other teams to have talent and play well, and that doesn’t mean the Bills aren’t prepared or are poorly coached. Fifth - the last drive of the game was championship-caliber football, including Motor’s awareness to get down so the Bills would win on the last play of the game (hint: coaching). Have a great Sunday, guys. The icing on the cake would be a Houston miracle against KC. Let’s Go, Buffalo! 17 and 3, BABY!!!!!!- 923 replies

The Ripoff Report: Bills Ice the Fish
eball replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do these fans throw projectiles at players that could cause serious injury? I don’t understand how this topic (throwing snowballs at players) is even debatable. At best it’s careless and reckless, and at worst it’s assault and battery. If you think it’s ok to throw snowballs at defenseless/unsuspecting players and coaches from the stands I’m surprised you possess the brainpower necessary to operate the device upon which you typed a response. -
Gotta hope this is a “mild” version and Mitch makes a quick and full recovery. Chances of advancing far in the playoffs go down considerably if he is done for the season. On another note, I expect Boettger to be activated off IR today. Not that he is all-world or anything, but it would allow Bates to play C if Morse is out for any significant time.
