  1. I’ve had “1BFLO” here in NC ever since Pegula bought the Bills.
  2. Rarely is one post so completely and succinctly wrong. Well done, you.
  3. Yeah, that’s not the issue. McD has addressed this, acknowledging the Bills run a “variant” of the TP and “we’re quite good at it.” The issue is safety and how long it will be before a QB is injured as a result of the way his body is angled. McD was very specific about how Josh stays more vertical, whereas Hurts lowers his head and becomes horizontal - significantly raising the risk of injury. Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t.
  4. Yeah, I phrased that poorly. What I meant to say is people like the national media. Now we are being praised for our retention of players, etc.
  5. The Bills are just a well run organization. People around the league are finally starting to see it.
  6. The continued obsession by some over a dome is funny to me. The new stadium is going to be beautiful, comfortable, and protect the majority of fans from the elements…and as you said, it’s a fallacy that domed stadiums create lots of opportunities for other events. They’ll still host spring/summer concerts and a dome isn’t needed for that.
  7. I think that’s exactly right. Players have to be aware of the market and not take deals that are significantly undervalued. It’s a union, after all. Josh did just about all he could to keep the market stabilized and still give the Bills flexibility. We all know he wants to win more than anything else, and I love to hear a guy who has common sense and emotional intelligence also (the “what does 5M more do for me?” comment).
  8. The Buffalo News published the final coaching staff for the upcoming season, as the Bills just made strength and conditioning coach hires. Here is the complete staff under McDermott, including year with the team and, if applicable, year in the current job: Offensive coordinator, Joe Brady (fourth season in Buffalo, second full season in current role). Defensive coordinator, Bobby Babich (ninth, second). Special teams coordinator, Chris Tabor (first). Cornerbacks, Jahmile Addae (second). Tight ends, Rob Boras (ninth). Quarterbacks, Ronald Curry (second). Safeties, Joe Danna (third). Assistant offensive line, Austin Gund (fourth, third). Wide receivers, Adam Henry (third). Linebackers, Al Holcomb (third, second). Offensive line, Aaron Kromer (fourth). Passing game specialist/game management, Marc Lubick (ninth, third). Offensive quality control/assistant wide receivers, DJ Mangas (third, first). Senior defensive assistant, Ryan Nielsen (first). Nickels coach, Mike Pellegrino (first). Assistant defensive line, Jason Rebrovich (first). Offensive quality control, Kyle Shurmur (fourth, third). Running backs, Kelly Skipper (ninth). Defensive assistant/offensive advisor, Christian Taylor (second, first). Defensive line, Marcus West (fourth, second). Assistant special teams, Turner West (first). Fellowship coach, Alvin Vaughn (third) Assistant/offensive fellowship coach, Milli Wilson (first). That’s 23 coaches — 11 offense, 9 defense, 2 special teams, and whatever the “fellowship coach” is. The interesting part to me is that 4 of the 9 defensive coaches are in their first year with the Bills at that position. I’m encouraged that McDermott is bringing in new voices on that side of the ball, given how underwhelming they were at times last season. It also makes sense that there isn’t a lot of turnover on offense. And of course, we needed a ST overhaul so the two new coaches there are welcomed. Those are your leaders for the 2025 season, folks. Thoughts?
  9. So first, a mea culpa -- I was on vacation last week when all of this went down and wasn't spending much time on the board. I haven't -- and won't -- read through 36 pages of this thread, but here are my thoughts: I don't have a problem with the Hoecht signing at all, since Beane knew about the suspension and it's a 3-year deal; they obviously wanted the guy. The Ogunjobi situation bothers me. Who is that guy's agent? Did he know about the pending suspension when he started negotiating with teams? If so, the agent should be blackballed and/or have his credentials revoked -- that's 100% unethical and bad faith. Beane says he went through with the deal because the DT market had been picked through -- ok, I guess, but not a good look at all when the guy you signed to a 1-year deal will only play in 60-70% of your team's games.
  10. According to Spotrac those three contracts consume 34% of the Bungles' cap for the upcoming season. With Hendrickson it goes over 40%. Interesting to see how this plays out for a non-playoff team.
  11. It's very hard for me to envision a scenario under which Diggs returns to the Bills. Nothing about it would make any sense.
  12. Don’t let the door hit ya on your way out!
  13. The sadsacks who want to cling to criticism of Beane for picking Elam crack me up. We will never know all of the inside details as to why it didn’t work out, but Beane didn’t have to pay him a 2nd contract and managed to get a 5th round pick for someone who was not a part of the present or future of this franchise. That’s what good GMs do; they don’t cling to their mistakes and they make the best out of the situation they’re in. Buffalo Bills fans who are “unhappy” with Beane can go find another franchise to root for, because they don’t deserve this one.
  14. What? This is nonsense. They practice in good conditions most of the time so you’re talking about maybe 3 or 4 games a season where they “suffer” for a few hours? Come on, man, you can’t possibly believe this. Anyway, the new stadium isn’t going to be as windy and is more of a “contained” bowl that will certainly not feel as cold.
  15. I think every player deep down wants to compete for a championship every year, but they also know their shelf life is limited and they need to bank as much as possible. I don’t fault guys for making those statements. It’s a rare few who actually mean it regardless of their circumstances, and those guys are typically a little more heady than your “normal” athlete.
  16. Confirms everything I believed about Josh. We are so freaking lucky to have him.
  17. There is one and only one accurate assessment of the Von Miller era in Buffalo — Thanksgiving Day in Detroit destroyed the plan.
  18. I’m so &$@ing done with this team!
  19. @klos63, you beat me to it. Cook was a difference maker in the KC AFCCG; one of the best players on the field. I know RBs are “a dime a dozen” but Jimbo is a superstar.
  20. …it is once again very nice to see and be a fan of a professionally run organization. Beane is getting all of his ducks in a row before the start of FA negotiations and the draft so he knows exactly what he’s working with, and he and his staff can focus their efforts on the next steps. It’s great to know we have a team with a plan — even if that plan isn’t exactly what some of us would come up with ourselves.
  21. Pete Carroll loves him some Geno Schmiff.
  22. LOL, why don’t you go and read or listen to guys who actually evaluate film and performance? “Shockingly high” is a hilarious statement.
  23. Makes a ton of sense, and not excessive cents, to lock up one of your defensive and team leaders in this manner. Those complaining about this simply don't like Bernard, which is their prerogative, but what he has done on the field warrants this sort of an extension, IMO.
  24. Mitch was a key part of Josh’s ascension and a great addition by Beane. Hope his concussion history doesn’t hamper his life after football.
