  1. As of now - the majority of the expected openings are terrible. Saints is probably the worst because of their cap situation. Jets isn't far off, bad cap, and either stuck with rodgers or have no QB. NYG might open up - no QB. Browns - stuck with watsons terrible deal, worst owner in NFL Bears - They have never had a good QB, and you're messing wtih like 100 years of history if you think you're the guy who can fix that Raiders - no qb and unless brady can turn it around, poor ownership Cowboys - have to deal with jerrah Jags - Probably the most interesting
  2. I think they go with a former HC next so maybe they can get more than one year 🙂
  3. Most players on the team earned their playing time - Edwards moved from 6th OL to starting LG. Lewis and Ingram were udfa practice squad guys who have become valuable depth pieces despite their perigree. Hamlin has been a backup for 3 years. Rapp was brought in a year before starting. Bernard sat a year. Williams. Shakir. Hamlin. A core of players who earned their jobs makes it easier imo to incorporate new blood like Douglas and cooper. Doesn't always work. But it helps with building a team, a roster, a program etc.
  4. Makes sense - i just thought it'd be a little strange having someone play SNF and TNF in the same week.
  5. In the terms of back to back timeouts to ice a kicker it's still 15 yards and unsportsman like conduct: Item 4. Unsportsmanlike Conduct. An attempt to call an excess team timeout, or to call a second timeout in the same dead ball period, by Team B in an attempt to “freeze” a kicker, shall be ignored and is unsportsmanlike conduct even if inadvertently granted (See 12-3-1-v). The timeout will be charged if inadvertently granted. This will apply to field goal or Try attempts.
  6. It would also make 3 SNF games for each team, which seems excessive for a specific time-slot. 18 games all season and you'd have 5 games with either the Bills or Chiefs playing in it. Buffalo is also hosting SNF 2 weeks later, which would mean collinsworth in buffalo 2 weeks out of 3. Steelers play on the road TNF week 12, so it doesn't seem likely that they play the 2nd to last game one week, and the earliest game the next week.
  7. There's a number of good potential matchups for week 17. Rams v. cardinals Broncos v. Bengals Falcons v. commanders
  8. I thought he played fine in this game all things considered - healthy tua, and 2 healthy prolific WRs. It's not like he got Huntley or something. Hill got behind him on one. Without seeing a full view I'm not sure if he bit on a double move in cover 3, or if this was a disguised cover 2 and you try to bait the hole shot. He also dove on a fumble and made a huge play. He tried to rip another one out, and made a solid edge tackle on another run. He's not starting because Benford and Douglas are ahead of him on the depth chart, and have not done anything to lose their position on the depth chart.
  9. They get it at the spot of the kick so the 49. Either a 66ish yard FG attempt or a hail mary. Not sure the timeouts are really in play with 5 seconds - you have to give yourself up and hope the ref blows the whistle fast enough because a bills player is either not touching you, or holding you from touching the ground. They'd probably have opted for the hail mary. 66 is tough in any conditions - and if you're short you're open to a return in a scenario where you don't have coverage lanes, and 9 football players (plus 2 kickers) trying to stop 11 football players. A lot of kickers kick low trajectory on their long kicks, which puts you at a greater risk of a block, which is potentially a game ender as well.
  10. Playing for a FG, you don't want to give miami time to do anything.
  11. Oh i just meant... with 2 timeouts I'd call one to ice. I still have one if i get the ball back so i can try a short pass pre-long FG. If i only had 1 timeout i probably wouldn't.
  12. I probably ice with 2 timeouts - i don't know that you can do much after that other than a hail mary with 5 seconds from the bills 49. I guess you can try a short pass timeout thing to try your own 60+ FG. Either way you only need 1 timeout. Sometimes icing works, sometimes you give them a practice kick and it doesn't. Buffalo waited til about 1 to snap it there too, if they didn't get the snap off they'd probably punt. Calling an ice timeout there might have also prevented that.
  13. Only thing i don't like is that there's 1:40 on the clock - and you still lose on a FG. Buffalo being down means 4 downs for every first. In a tie game scenario - you stop them on 3 and they probably punt for OT.
  14. Dawkins rested his hands on top of the guy, but the LG had already fallen on top of the defender so it... i dunno he barely touched him and wasn't impeding him in the slightest. The other factor is... the defender isn't trying to get up. Holding requires impeding the defender and he wasn't really trying so how is he impeding him?
  15. Seems like he was replaced by coleman and hollins when he was injured, then lost even more chance at outside snaps from the addition of Cooper. Coleman potentially missing some time could open up a chance for some more conventional plays, but they seem to just have him currently in a rotation with shakir, knox, and kincaid - shakirs playing really well, kincaid is an integral piece, and knox gets dirty in the run game. They're even using shakir in that deep motion play instead of samuel now. And i don't blame them, shakir has been fantastic this year.
  16. Right at the spot where he escaped you can see the player has arms around his shoulder pad.
  17. The offense needs to get blown up - but defensively they have a bunch of talent. You move players on expirings who aren't a part of the plan going into 2025. Ojulari maybe could move because of his contract.
  18. It's stats that account for quality of competition. I'd have to venture a guess that Baltimore, Arizona, and Houston are among the higher quality teams by rushing DVOA, miami x2 isn't a bad rush offense, Jags are 9th in YPC, hell even the titans aren't terrible running the ball.
  19. Was it hilarious at least?
  20. My wife isn't a bills fan, and i called her down with about 30 seconds left and said i needed her good juju. So clearly she was responsible for bass blasting that thing good from like 70.
  21. I don't see a reason to cut milano. I'm not a big williams fan though as i feel like teams have been attacking him with misdirection and he's just always a little late getting there. Not sure he has instincts to be a real player at the position. You'd be able to save 10M in the 2025 cap by releasing him, but then you're eating 11M in 2026 so there's a level of balance there. The defense is better with him there, hopefully he can get healthy this year and make some contributions so the team feels a bit better about him being a player in 2025.
  22. After the 2 BS holding calls, i started watching the line more, and there were several plays where they held oliver. They struggled with some of the screen game, and i felt they played those better as the game went on and achanes speed was just a problem for the dline all day. Ball was out quick so i didn't expect much pressure. They also played LBs and S's way off the LOS and gave a ton of light boxes to run into. Not a run stuff strategy at all, more of a stop the bleeding. End of the day - Hill and Waddle were fairly afterthoughts, they caused a turnover, and forced a couple of short FGs which i think was largely the goal.
  23. So tua has 3 fumbles this season in 191 snaps. Allen has 5 fumbles in 463. Maybe tua needs to hold it like a loaf of bread?
  24. Lets assume he's talking about... football players. Still a wildly weird tweet.
  25. Literally none of it guaranteed. He'd have been released and got 3.5 million. By voiding it he's a free agent during tampering, and they paid him the 3.5 in 2024 instead of 2025. They used the contract years to massively discount his cap hit this year, and he will carry 16ish million against the cap for Houston next season. It didn't work out but it really didn't change much. If he performed, he would've wanted a new contract. If injured, he'd have been released.
