Tight End stat sheet as of Dec. 1
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Commish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like this is one of those positions where it can take a minute for them to show something. He's made some flash plays, just needs to be much more consistent - especially in blocking. He'll figure out how to find those zone soft spots in the middle of the field, and he's a load to tackle. I mean, he still has drops, but this season he has so few targets its hard to even like evaluate. -
Officiating across the league is god awful

No - but there needs to be some accountability. How are they evaluated? I know if you are evaluated poorly you don't get playoff games - but when/how do they determine whether to get rid of you, promote/demote, etc. -

The packers forced a fumble on trubiskey on SNF, and returned it for a TD. Not 1, but 2 packers pulled on his facemask. How do you miss that, on the QB... in the pocket... with the ball? They seem to have fewer like... 2 minute conversations before they make calls. They just walk out there and go holding on 77, replay the down. What down is it? 77 isn't even on the field! -
What happened to the deep ball?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Penfield45's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of it is chemistry and ball tracking. Free play 1x1. Thats smart. The PI worked out, but he threw it up into double coverage. I don't know that that is a smart strategy. -
I feel like anyone can? Once you hit that 21 day activation window you either get activated or you go on season ending IR. I thought that was the rule, but maybe theres more to it. I know Sweeneys done for the year. Same with Ford. Phillips hit IR twice, so he's done. Milano should be possibly available against pittsburgh, but I'm not counting on it. Hodgins is interesting, but i think thats likely dependent on brown. He's in his DFR window currently, but I'm not sure they want to activate him and have to either carry 7 WRs or try and hide him on the PS. Dodson/Lewis should be available to be activated soon.

They sat back it seemed. Both helped and harmed with some penalties. The PI was a big one, but there was also a roughing the passer on the 2nd TD drive, late hit on the field goal drive. Then there were penalties that absolutely stalled some drives for buffalo as well. Felt like the officiating was a bit over the top with the unsportsmanlike ones. A play got called back on a hold on dawkins that i just didn't see, but they called unsportsmanlike conduct on davis too.

Knox is the incumbent starter for next year but I'd bring in competition. Who knows if sweeney ever plays again, and kroft/smith are UFAs. I'm not spending a ton, or using any of the first 3 picks. I don't care too much about their stats - knox's drops are the concerning bit to me. He also seems to make mental errors frequently when blocking. -

My brother ripped down all his bills stuff when they lost the 3rd super bowl i think? I was only like 6 and he was like 16 at the time... He still doesn't trust the bills. Also last year when they lost the playoff game I may have continued drinking into the wee hours and repeatedly said - this is the worst day of my life, why does this happen?! -
Reserve Kicker on PS
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to mushypeaches's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
oh i meant like - a guy on the team can try out to snap, punt, kick etc. I'm not opposed. If a kicker goes down, you're likely to use the punter. NFL teams likely know this, and have their punters practice kicking as a contingency. The question is whos doing either if they both can't play? Methinks in the playoffs they'd make some kind of exception and let you bring a guy in and just test the hell out of him 👨⚕️ -

I haven't smashed a controller since original xbox, so i think i've improved on my anger management. I also stopped playing madden so that probably helps too. -

You'd have a few days to try some people out. -
Romo as full time Brady apologist...

One could argue too many weapons it seems. They need to look at it the NE way. What does your opponent struggle with? And gameplan around that. You got a 2 year window - its not the time to be selfish. -

He did make a valid point regarding their offense and how its confused about who it wants to be. They run the ball well and play action with 2 TEs but then you have Godwin/brown on the bench. Then when they put all their WRs out there they run a very vertical offense without play action. -

There's definitely a guy on the team who has punted or kicked at some point in their lifetime. Not well, but has done it. The problem is likely that all 3 of these guys would likely hit the reserve list - so now you need a guy to snap it, a guy to punt/kick and a guy to hold it. My guess - centers already do a bit of long snapping drills. The punter and kicker both practice a little bit of doing both. and someone like hyde who's just good at stuff would be your fill in. Agreed. No QB = no points. No kicker means no field goals/extra points. No punter means go for it when its close, and or line up and have allen punt out of a deep shotgun. Every center can probably snap them long, the consistency is the big problem. -
Can't figure out Devin Singletary.

Allen doesn't hold the ball very well as a runner. He holds it out wide too often and its easy to punch out. -

Actually it would be knox - he lost a fumble and only has 11 touches. -
Lynn is getting a ton of flak for the final play sequence. But a lot of that is coming from the barstool gambling community - less so football people. Football people understand that - after a big play with time winding down, the coach is NOT telling the qb what to do. They should have spiked it - but i don't know that lynn is like, get to the line and call a draw. As for the sneak? That was done after the radio is off anyway, so it was definitely a check (which as soon as he checked to it, made no sense because klein went right into the gap. They have lost an absurd number of close games, but he was handicapped with rivers turnovers last year, and has a rookie QB and injuries this year. It's unfair, but he'll probably get canned.
-
The big thing that bothered me was that people claim they "blew the lead". How? They were winning the entire game, then they won. LA made it a 1 score game, buffalo turned around and made it a 2 score game, and that was the final. They even got hosed by the refs multiple times while making it a 2 score game.

Denver forced to play with no QB
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to PirateHookerMD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Denver had 1 positive test on like thursday or something - you don't postpone a game for a single positive test. The contact tracing determined that the QBs were dumb and ate lunch together knowing they weren't supposed to do that. This happened to buffalo with Knox and Norman - other players missed the game due to contact tracing. Every postponement situation has had multiple positive tests each day and involved closing facilities down. Denver was sloppy with their QBs and it cost them this game. Every other HC knows you gotta keep one in your back pocket for this situation. -
Allen and Davante Adams are guys who will line up in the slot a lot and in bunch sets off the LOS. I don't like playing my top corner in the slot (where he isn't comfortable), in a situation where you can't press. White gave up some plays in this one, but he was basically in 1x1 coverage the entire game, meaning some combination of hyde/poyer/johnson/Edmunds were following allen around and making herbert second guess. I don't know that you can do the same thing against a QB like rodgers with adams, as I'm sure he's better at diagnosing the coverage he's seeing.
