  1. Need to get better at blocking. Several runs for negative yards in that one, and a couple where they should've lost yards but got back to the LOS. To me? They kept lining up 7 guys on the LOS and running cover 0 and cover 1. Their run blitzes from the outside were working and our line couldn't figure out who was doing what. So the run blitzes worked, they'd bring a guy off the edge and nobody would block him. The outside zone plays were losing on the backside - we have linemen up field but their defense is already tackling our back behind the LOS. The whole 3rd quarter we kept running into that look and it legit never worked. Maybe a burner speed back helps there? But honestly just - tossing it out into the boundary might have worked better to getting our guys out there faster and muddy up that LOS a bit better.
  2. Oh yeah - they were doing double a pressure and moving guys around. His first INT was a bad decision, 2nd was probably a bad throw (held the ball a bit too). Hit on some screens, missed on others.
  3. It takes away the cutback lane if he were to head to his left.
  4. Stop running it into loaded boxes. They had tons of guys on the LOS all day long, and they kept running under center runs all game. It doesn't keep them honest on play action, and it probably resulted in like 7 runs that lost yards.
  5. Well thats a read-option... he played the back. If he plays the QB then he hands it off.
  6. Have to agree... Hughes play on the wilson INT the week before is the example of this. Just stay with him and force him to worry about you, and not have his eyes down field.
  7. 12 seconds and no timeouts though - make them throw an out (murrays out routes were pretty off the entire afternoon), or scramble out of bounds. Then set up for your actual hail mary with probably davis or diggs out there.
  8. Exactly why i bring pressure. It's not the hail mary play, and if you can bring down murray in bounds they run out of time. So he likely scrambles out of bounds and then its the hail mary play.
  9. Which a lot has to do with a cover 3 call there.
  10. They don't have a particularly strong oline or run game to lean on either. Every game for them will end up being tight. They will lose a game or two that they shouldn't. And I think buffalo will beat them. Rookie qb will struggle with a pressure defense every time too. I think Miami is fairly similar to buffalo probably in the good not great tier. But the rookie qb and bottom tier offense is going to hold them back.
  11. Poor throw. Why not loft that up towards the sideline?
  12. I think part of it is - kingsbury will scheme up a short passing game if you let him. So you have to play more aggressive than a traditional quarters/cover 3 McD defense. They've had some success with the zone blitz last week, as well as playing around with some 46 bear concepts. Murray hasn't been a particularly efficient 3rd down passer, but his legs definitely can hurt you. I'd probably rather have him passing short of the sticks than running around causing problems. So my guess would be pressure looks on early downs to try and stop the run, and try get into 3rd and long type situations. On those situations - sit on the routes at the sticks and spy murray. Doing all this will result in a couple big plays - likely screens or 50/50 balls to hopkins. But it helps prevent teams just running it down our throats as they have all season.
  13. One was the last play of the rams game where they threw the ball all over the place. The forced fumble from the jets game on herndon + the INT darnold threw up to milano. 2nd Jets game jackson had the nice play on the darnold deep corner route, and the deflected one that bounced right to hughes at the end of the game. Kelce fumbled before half in the KC game. Jefferson sack fumble on carr after the norman punch. So only 1 really falls in the doesn't really matter/count column.
  14. If they improved on early downs and kept teams in 3rd and long they'd go a long way to getting off the field more. Their 3rd down defense is bad... but they also have way too many 3rd and shorts this year.
  15. Agreed. Free first on a sack. Then a huge hold gets missed on the next play. Refs like the titans tonight
  16. Especially because the compensation was essentially nothing. Bennetts trade compensation was considerable.
  17. There were 5 new HCs in 2020 - the only minority was rivera. So i doubt they get compensation for firing him anyway. I think the last one would've been Flores in 2019. Before that was Wilks in 2018. Not to get totally off topic - but i wonder if McD would bring Wilks in in some capacity?
  18. Regarding 1 - How many current Offensive coordinators in the NFL are black? Maybe 2? How many Defensive? Frasier, Joseph, Bowles, Norton? I'm sure i missed someone in there - but if the candidate pool for black head coaches is 6 (3 of which have already been fired as HC's before) then the next few years is likely pretty bleak. I think there are currently 2 black GMs? The list of "up and comers" for GM, is also another list of white guys (Ed Dodds, Horitz, Borgonzi). 2 - I'm not basing my head coaching search on a couple of 3rd round picks. If the guy is right, it won't matter. Plus they're comp picks, its not like you lose anything hiring him. 3 - I doubt it changes anything. Just a box checked. Regarding Bieniemy - Someone will take a chance on him I think. It's been long enough since his incidents that he's probably alright.
  19. Winning games when you have under 10 first downs, under 150 yards, and 2 turnovers is incredibly rare. Much like buffalo winning week 1 last year when turning it over 4 times - you can't count on that type of bailout. An average to poor offense puts up - lets say 360 yards. Miami has been below that threshold in 5 of 8 games. They're 4-1 when having below 350 yards, and almost all the games where they put up good yardage, fitz was the one who was dealin. Can't run, not great passing - 3 d/st TDs and a 17/17 kicker (10/10 from 40+).
  20. Yeah, can't imagine him getting much more than 1 per year without proving he can return punts/kicks. He's an interesting gadget player, and he has pretty good hands... But no ones breaking the bank for 5'8 WRs.
  21. Lol... and looking back. WOW was everyone wrong on that front.
  22. After TP bought the team, Russ still had a role here. But after the rex hire, I don't think he was really in charge of hiring anymore. At ralphs advanced age, Russ was defacto owner in many ways. I think Russ would've continued doing what he normally did - splash hirings to generate money.
  23. probably right. I just remember people being like - he's a distraction etc so i assumed it was during a year when buffalo was competitive.
  24. He cheated on her too. Remember all that drama last year? Shes got over a million instagram followers. She'll be just fine
