  1. Obada got 800k guaranteed and 1.5 total. To me he's long odds to make the roster. It's basically him and Addison with one spot. My money's on Addison for another year. Johnsons special teams contributions probably aren't enough, maybe he can hit the PS. I don't remember the rules there.
  2. I thought maybe someone would trade up for that linebacker. But considering pass rushers went the next 2 picks, and teams probably saw them as likely pass rush destinations - you really needed someone to want a specific pass rusher and I don't think anyone was biting.
  3. Having NFL nutritionists available, world class gym after a year off working out... wherever. I'm not worried about the testing tbh, more of my concern would be about his development of moves and counters. Just seeing him in a suit he looked like he could easily gain some weight.
  4. You're losing murphy and johnson and gaining rousseau and obada. Who plays where and when - whatever... its still an upgrade.
  5. Yep - Between Obada and Rousseau, johnson knows he needs to really start workin.
  6. I mean... it's not a yes or no thing. You don't think hughes/addison/epenesa/obada will be banged up this year at all? He might not dress at first, and might contribute later in the year. But to say he won't dress all season is a bit premature.
  7. There would be savings if Addison is cut, but he did restructure his contract so i think he's likely to stay. Obada could always be traded as well, same as Johnson.
  8. DE - Hughes, Addison, Epenesa, Obada, Rousseau DT - Oliver Butler phillips Lotulelei Zimmer could absolutely win the job from phillips, and I'm not sure they don't draft another one to compete there anyway. 9 on 53, 8 on gamedays is the most likely scenario.
  9. I like the music on ESPN though. It brings me back to those weekend drafts (that were far superior), where you'd sit on the couch for 16 hours and watch the draft.
  10. I think not having the 4th hurts in a trade up scenario. The 2 5ths only likely push you up like 5-7 picks max. I'm for it. Current depth chart Tackle: Dawkins, Williams, Hart Guard: Ford, Feliciano, Boettger, Lamp, Douglas, Center: Morse, Bates There's definitely a need to infuse some younger talent in there. DB i think there's opportunity to bring in someone opposite Tre, but also someone to play big nickel against some of the more TE heavy rosters we'll be facing. I think the DT rotation could be upgraded too. Same with TE. So i'd put the needs at in some order: T, G/C, CB, DT, TE, S with 6 picks left. The last 4 are 5th rounders or later so unlikely to be major contributors in year 1. I think a CB, S, or DT would see the field more than the other positions so that's probably where I'd aim my next 2 picks assuming the value is appropriate. I wouldn't be mad though if a solidly graded offensive lineman falls, i don't think anyone between the Tackles is guaranteed anything.
  11. I think this would be an interesting spot for rousseau to land. You get handed nothing here - playing time is earned.
  12. Gonna have to take a job from Mckenzie whos well liked and has battled every year for a spot. Def a challenge for a rookie.
  13. "Freak Athlete" "Generational" "Pro Ready" - must improve his hand usage, technique, footwork... So he's pro ready, but he needs to improve at every aspect of the position. And he'll start day 1 because you spent so much to acquire him.
  14. George Godsey and Erik Studesville...
  15. 22nd in yards offensively, and 20th in yards allowed defensively. Turnovers are big, but good teams tend to turn it over less, and they tend to fluctuate from year to year.
  16. I thought it was a big overpay at the time. Same with everyone the jets signed. Byron jones at top 5 money is a bit excessive, but he's a good player at least.
  17. Well Flowers sucked anyway, so i don't think him being there should have prevented them from going oline there. Their offensive line will hold them back if its not addressed - they cant run the ball, and if they don't protect their QB it won't really matter.
  18. If not for a fingertip missed TD pass - Could be 17-7 or 17-14 at half. Or if the kick the FG 13-7 or 13-14. Missed FG when buffalo was up 17-10. Back to back quick scoring drives make it 27-24. Allen almost fumbled them the ball at mid field. Reich and Rivers blew it on the last drive. No timeouts - 3rd down and 5, they throw it short of the sticks, and then ran it on 4th and 1 to pick up the first. A minute of clock, got 5 yards and the kicker doesn't have a big leg. So now you need like 40 yards in a minute. They set themselves up for the hail mary for some reason... just a really strange series.
  19. He doesn't fit under the cap and isn't a team fit here. 3yr 38m left on base salary is a bargain for taking a chance on a really good WR. He's older, and missed time last year with injuries, but you can get out of most of the money (so the risk isnt that high) and he's coming off a 6 year run as one of the best WRs in football.
  20. I always come back to the 38 straight points we allowed as kind of the cause of that loss. The defense didn't really play that well against indy either, so i think there are causes for concern on defense.
  21. If the IOL is good at run blocking, then why don't they block well? Singletary averaged 5.1 per carry in 2019 - which is .3 yards less per carry than etienne did last year in college... at clemson.... I think playcalling here has been an issue as well. From under center buffalo ran 300 something plays, and ran on like 2/3. From Shotgun they ran like 700 plays and 2/3 pass. I know we're a pass heavy team, but that just looks a bit like were tipping our pitches. The Outside zone plays weren't there all year, they were ripping through blocks on the backside and destroying cutbacks. I think what an etienne or harris would help the most with is being more of a mismatch to a team that decides to blitz a lot. Or the KC strategy of just holding people - more effective YAC could be a difference in those games. I'm still partial to defense at 30 though, buffalo lost to KC because they gave up 38 straight points across 6 possessions, not anything they did wrong on offense. I'm not set to move on from Edmunds - but signing milano, bringing in adams... its clear they want to see more from him. Not a need necessarily, but could be positioned to upgrade the defense.
  22. Orlando Brown is a really good player too. Big boy, 2 time pro bowler - he's on an expiring deal so i wonder if this came down to money. KC only gets him for a year cheap. If they're investing a 1st i wonder if they're parking him on the left next to Thuney.
  23. I think a lot of this had to do with KC getting out of their gameplan though. From behind they got away from RPOs, and creating trouble at the mesh point. It lets you kind of execute your defense more effectively.
  24. I'm somewhat open to running back at this point? But it depends how the chips fall. If you like one more than the other, do you really spend a 1st round pick on your 2nd favorite running back? I wouldn't. If there's a corner they like there though, they may be able to start and contribute on day 1. I think the issue still comes down to oline for the running attack - i'd be open to interior oline at 30 because i think LG should be an open comp as no one there has really shown much to me. I like running back weapons, but the teams struggles in the red zone and short yardage situations are likely issues up front. You're also then relegating singletary to inactive on some game days, and I'm not one to give up on a running back who has averaged 4.8 YPC and improved as a pass catcher.
