  1. I see where you're coming from but don't agree with your assessments across the board. McCoy trade made sense, the deal is definitely overpaying and he almost certainly won't live up to it but thats ok if it helps us in the short term and its front loaded. Would I rather have Murray and Kiko than just McCoy? maybe but the deal is done and it does make sense to me. Obviously Felton and Hughes make a ton of sense. Harvin wasn't needed but it doesn't hurt to have more weapons. We aren't going to rely on Harvin to be our big play guy. He's likely 3rd on the depth chart of game-breaker type guys behind McCOy and Watkins which is a different situation than he has been in before. QB, there was nothing out there and i think the Locker retirement surprised them, taking a QB off the market. Obviously StL was willing to deal Bradford but we didn't have many assets to give back to them without a viable replacement QB or a first rounder so that was never a real option. Cassel is as bad/good as anyone available. The one thing I don't agree with is that they haven't really addressed O-line yet which seemed like such a priority
  2. What was he not motivated the last couple years? Competitiveness and motivation don't win games. Many guys in the NFL have had that but can't make it. If EJ makes it this year it will be because he learned to throw the ball more naturally with some velocity and learned to throw accurately in tight spaces while throwing receivers open.
  3. Chris Brown ‏@ChrisBrownBills 46m 46 minutes ago Report: Offer expected soon from Bills for Clay http://wp.me/plmrg-beg
  4. I think what you described is exactly why he does want Clay. Watch some videos of Clay, he is not a typically tight end at all. He's slightly undersized to be the Gronk-nobody can stop me-type. Miami actually lined him up as a HB and FB on occasion and he carried the ball out of the backfield successfully. He can do that while also lining up as a TE and he's fast enough to get open on inside slant routes and such. Roman wants him because of his versatility and the misdirection we can use him for.
  5. Hopefully there is more money in Buffalo because at this point we need Clay. I don't want to get stuck with nobody and we apparently were so high on him before.
  6. How would he be better than Woods? The guy has been a waste since joining the NFL. Were not that desperate anymore
  7. Watch the film, they are completely different players. If McCoy, Felton and Clay are in the backfield together defenses wont know who is blocking, who is running out of the backfield and who is receiving a hand-off. There is a lot of deception that can be done with this guy because he is so versatile.
  8. They do this every year. Were foolish if we believe theyll be worse because of the rosters moves they are or are not making in March. As long as TB is throwing the ball and they have BB and Gronk the Pats will be just fine.
  9. From Chris Brown: http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2015/03/11/time-to-match-an-offer-sheet-is-just-5-days/ Apparently its actually only 5 days to match the deals per the new CBA
  10. Pay him a lot. They dont have to match the structure do they? Just the guaranteed money I thought. FYI: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000283274/Charles-Clay-39-yard-touchdown-catch
  11. Can you send the tweet. I follow him but dont see it
  12. This stuff is hilarious. Do the people that post this stuff think every other team is clamoring for the Bills players? Do you realize Kiko was a consolation prize for Philly? The likely tried other teams but nobody would give up anything for McCoy. We were the only ones willing to make a deal. Why would anybody trade a QB for a LB with a recently torn ACL
  13. Without the five championships. I'm half kidding, I love Freddie and it was going to be really tough to watch the team without him on it. But ultimately it is a business and you can't hold on to old flames if there are better players out there. Freddie is not Derek Jeter. He has never won anything, never been to the playoffs, pro bowl, never had a 1,000 yard season even. He was a work horse and who we looked to for belief in this playoff drought but he isn't Derek Jeter. I hope Fred makes it in the wall and gets all the recognition he deserves for his loyally to us but I don't want our owner intervening every time our fans get upset about a player leaving. It's Freddie now but who know what will happen in the future.
  14. A 4th rounder and get them to pay $5 mill of the deal this year. See what they say.
  15. A lot of the ESPN guys break a lot of news and they are almost always credibile, Schefter Mort and Clayton to a lesser extent. Laconfera and Rapaport also have a lot of info but you have to decide what you want to believe. Then there's people that focus more on Bills news like John Wawrow, Joe B. As you follow some people they will retweet others and you can learn who else to follow.
  16. Nobody knows for sure who picked him but I'm sure Whaley had some say in the matter. Doesn't really change things that he has missed badly on the offensive side of that ball. I like him as a GM and think you can do a lot worse.
  17. Trading Shep for Hughes....great GM move. Signing cheap free agents (Lawson, Spikes) to compliment drafted talent (Brown, Dareus, Williams, Kiko) late in free agency when the prices have dropped...great GM move. Not over paying for a safety and re-upping the talented one on the roster to take his place...great move. To me Whaley is 60/40 good moved to bad moves. Some of the moves and decisions have been great and worked out, giving us a top defense. But he has whiffed hard on offense with Manuel, over paying for Watkins, not addressing O line and TE. Maybe we need another GM to focus on the offensive side of the ball.
  18. Wow. Now I think we may have overpayed. I'm not sure he can possibly live up to it.
  19. Dareus > Suh in a number of ways beyond performance. We drafted him and its always better to resign your own, he's also not known as the dirtiest player in the league. Dareus is younger too. Kyle Williams will not get a good draft pick in return. 4th at best I'd say because of his age but a 5th is more likely. He's a lot more valuable to us than he would be to any other team.
  20. This is fine as long as they are still planning on bringing in a FA like Locker. Cassel is not a starter, he has underwhelmed everywhere save for one year in KC. I know none of the guys available are particularly impressive but I want someone else for competition if possible. Ill be upset of Cutler or Bradford end up being dealt because they are both major upgrades over this.
