  1. With Rex naming TT the starter against Cleveland how are you so positive Cassel has that big of a lead? Based on yesterday I think TT got himself just about even or close to it. If he does well he could easily get the nod as the starter week 1. Cassel did exactly what you thought he would do and thats what your going to get from him. Honestly both QBs will be limited once game planning for them starts but Ive seen the game planning for a Cassel-type before with Fitz and Orton. It is brutal and they can't do anything about it. The game planning for TT is more difficult and opens up opportunities for our game breakers.
  2. I think Tyrod has a real shot but there was one play that got me worried. It was like 3rd and 8, he scrambled and took his eyes off of downfield. Ended up running out of bounds for 3 yards. I know it's preseason and he's not gonna risk it now but those are the type of things that running QBs screw up. The running thing can get tiresome if it's at the wrong times and at the expense of more yards consistently. Either way if he plays well with the 1s against CLE I think he's got it
  3. He doesn't really say anything negative about EJ here. He's talking about the DB/WR battle. Literally nothing about the throw is mentioned
  4. Yea will he run when we need 12 yards or will he stay focused? Situation awareness needs to be there.
  5. I don't think its ideal but given what we have, it seems like a good option for this year.
  6. Who remembers last year when we had to justify the fact that we never scored a TD all preseason. Not this year
  7. I am in no way saying I am in love with him. He just looked very Cassely. Competent at least
  8. I saw what I needed to see from Cassel. I feel a lot better about things now.
  9. Mulligan appears to be filling the Lee Smith role quite well. studied the tape apparently
  10. Great decisive burst from McCoy. Never saw that from Spiller
  11. To me it seems hes taking almost all of the blame off of EJ and consistently blaming the receivers. 5 yards out of bounds is a lot for a throw that was justbehind a receiver. Ive just seen his stuff before and didnt like it. Its pretty telling to me when every single other reporter is saying how bad of a throw that specific one was and he comes out with "just a little behind, receiver should have looked...". But believe what you want.
  12. As negative as Joe B may be on the anti-EJ train, Chris Trapasso is such an EJ homer its just as bad. He honestly tries to justify the throw into the tent like it was completely normal.
  13. Another classic post where people completely overvalue our own players. No way they pull the plug on Johnny for a bunch of Buffalo cast-offs.
  14. No youre not the only one. Im not advising putting your finger in someones face but there would have to be a lot more to it than that. Especially if I was on the fence about making an NFL team. This guy has basically ruined any real chance at an NFL career. Its honestly kinda strange to see all of the "oh well that makes sense..." reactions to the finger in the face news. Boomer Esiason ‏@7BOOMERESIASON 28m28 minutes ago Bottom line if you owe somebody money pay your debt. Don't be surprised if you get punched in the face if you don't. This is brilliant insight. Glad the overarching point isnt lost on Boomer
  15. Chan probably planned this whole thing. It was a set up.
  16. Several reasons. The scrimmage wasnt the entire body of work. They split time with the ones a lot in camp leading up to today. Cassel had the best day yesterday and is starting the preseason game.
  17. I tend to point more at Houston last year as a poor performance. I really havent seen anyone bring up Tampa referring to EJ.
  18. I think its because people dont want to admit that EJ isnt that good so they look for confirmation bias. If the reporters had a pro-EJ conspiracy nobody would be calling that into question and asking them to pump the brakes on the praise. They dont want the truth until it hits them in the face in the first 4 weeks. Its exactly like last year.
  19. I really enjoy reading Astros stuff but some people that totally disregard everyone else except for Astro seem to just be searching for confirmation bias. That's all
  20. Just to counter, I'm not saying anything positive or negative against Astro but how do you know who is more objective. If anything I would assume someone that actively roots for the Bills would be more biased. The guys who cover the Bills for local news have always been pretty down on EJ and EJ has pretty much lived up to to their criticism thus far. If what I see on the field totally went against what those guys said I wouldn't buy the tweets and coverage but it's almost always right. I really don't understand why the hate for these guys except for the fact that you don't want to believe that what they're saying is correct. Let's say joe B and Rodak held the opinion they seem to have that EJ isn't good but Fairburn loved what EJ was doing (purely hypothetical) would people here really only believe what Fairburn had to say? It seems that way.
  21. At the same time if the trade is good and we get something in return than I'll commend him for turning basically nothing into something. Doing something a good GM should do. I'll wait to see how the trade goes.
  22. but didn't he throw a TD to Gragg? Just kidding. Thanks for the perspective.
  23. If EJ makes a couple good throws but mostly bad throws, that's a bad day. Throwing one touchdown and then overthrowing or under throwing every other pass you're not going to highlight the one TD. When EJ has had good days the reporters are all over it. When he was in Pittsburgh last year and earlier this year in minicamp I remember them raving over EJ. They report on the overarching theme of the day not necessarily each individual play.
