  1. I think because A) they were all hurt last year in the playoffs (except for Diggs who became doubled every play) B) Beasley and Sanders are slender and old. C) you build a SB winnng roster with great depth and balance. D) I'd feel a lot better about their chances after we add Ertz and Kadarius Toney or a reasonable facsimile.
  2. I think trading for Ertz plus drafting another WR like Kadarius Toney makes us elite. Assuming Ertz helps both run and pass. Assuming the line is better with more time together. Assuming the line is better with our four (3 or 4?) upgrades with the minimum being our LG position plays better this year. Ertz will help so much in the pass, plus help Dawson (and the young TEs). Toney gives us incredible quickness and speed. He gives us serious depth for when injuries hit (and they are going to hit and then we will be so happy to have Toney). And perhaps one of the defining traits of an elite offense is having elite depth. Yes, it is. I think the run game is going to be better with Allen another year older and everyone in the offense, another year together. Both main RBs another year together. Hopefully, the new back is a quick study, he should be as he is vet playing multiple offenses. I cant stress enough what an advantage it is that we kept together, Daboll and Allen, all the coaches and most of the players. It is HUGE! I think the goal should be to create a truly elite offense and to add those two to do it. At the very least, Ertz and drafting a WR by the fifth round. I'd be OK with Eskridge who might be there in the third. Ertz + Eskridge: I'd be happy with that. Dawson Knox, Matt Breida, Hollister, McKenzie, Gabriel Davis, Eskridge, Singletary..... All resting Diggs, Beasley, Sanders, Ertz and Moss regularly.... Thats, imho, what you need to last 20-21 games in a row to win that Super Bowl. Then, our first two picks (and the rest of the draft for that matter) could be defense: hitting DE/DT or CB with the first two picks and try to hit gold at the position we miss with the rest of the picks..... Everything, to me, looks very doable except for defensive end where you need a very, very rare athlete with toughness, brains and dedication to dominate. My thinking is that the best way to do that may be to try and get a vet before the trade-deadline.... You know, get Ertz, draft the DT, CB and WR with our higher picks and then add that vet that takes us to the promised land. Finally win that SB! Thats how you do it. Thats how you win a Super Bowl. We can keep pushing monies into the future as long as we are a contender and then pay for it and have a reload year. Allen will still be young enough to rebuild. We have a losing season, eat all that cap monie and get back under. Get compensatory picks, higher picks from the losing season and reload the following year. Hopefully, we do the right thing and actually build a SB team this year. Win that SB. Maybe we can win another? Spend that dough, Mr. and Mrs. Pegula! S-U-P-E-R-B-O-W-L!
  3. I want to exchange 30, 61 and 93 for ~ 40, 50 and 60 or there abouts. I think we can get three really solid players this way....problem being probably can't get a pass rusher.... But we could get WR, CB, DT.....three good ones.... Trade a fifth for Ertz. DE would be our only hole.
  4. I think the Bills are five good players short of competing for a Super Bowl. A WR, TE, DE, DT, and CB. A WR because the season is too long and arduous to count on what we have. A TE because Allen and Dawson are on the wrong page and really only have two now. We could use a better blocker than what we have as well, that is, we need a starter at TE, imho. A DT, as this post points out. A DE as we all know this is a huge need. And a good corner to allow us to play more man. I think it's reasonable to assume we can get three of these with the draft picks we have so we need to get two more from some other way: trade or the waiver wire as teams fight to get under the cap. Just no way Diggs, Sanders, Beasley lasts the year and our other receivers scare nobody with a good secondary; that is, a playoff team. I'd love to draft Kadarius Toney and immediately throw him into the rotation at #4 and to use Gabriel Davis and McKenzie as much as we can scheme them in there. To really cut down Diggs, Bradley's and Sanders touches as much as we can. Can Hodgins be the man? I guess it is possible but I think we really need another WR for the 20-21 game season anyway. If Hodgins is good, he'll find his way onto the field.
  5. Noooooooooo, is right. Don't let him go, Beane! Talk about a seamless backup.... Marlowe is that.
  6. Trade a 6th rd. pick for Zach Ertz and sign Dean Marlowe, then go into the draft.... WR or DE at one, CB at two, DE or WR at three. Then trade up the pair of fives to get a DT.... Finish draft with BPAs....
  7. Very nice summation. Spot on. I am a Singletary fan and told my brother (who gave up on him) that they have to go back to the plays Singletary ran as a rookie... I feel smart now.... Go Bills!
  8. What we need, and we need it badly is for Cody Ford to step up and join Feliciano in being a bad-ass lineman but we need Ford to also be a technically better lineman than Feliciano. We really need Ford to take a huge step forward. Then acquire Zach Ertz. Then draft a WR with deep speed (or Toney or if not a RB) with our top pick. And then our offense should really be prolific. Go CB, DT with second and third. Still no answer for pass rush but we'd have everything else....
  9. I'm all for a WR, but I want an outside WR with speed. A #2 WR is what we need. We need more legit weapons on the outside (with speed).
  10. A veteran #1 starting TE I think will be our last big signing.... C'mon, Beane get Ertz! I think Ertz gives us another true weapon. Draft a WR in the second rd and maybe we have enough top end skill for the season? And another vet DT ~ around vet minimum..... so I have us signing four.... Dean Marlowe and Zach Ertz being two of them..... I really hope anyway.... DE - WR - CB - DT - OL - RB. See if we can grab a giant RB late....to add to the competition.
  11. We need another top-notch, fast WR to have enough depth to win a SB I sure hope we draft one.....
  12. I'm happy with the signing, keep them coming, Beane!
  13. While I want Daboll to work on the run game as well, I think we need another receiver more than a back. And I want a starting Veteran TE that is a very dangerous receiver moreso than a blocker. I'll take Ertz plus another speed WR before I take a new RB or blocking TE though I imagine Ertz can block pretty well. We need to keep building that passing game, baby! I say still sign vets, Beano! we also have to greatly improve our D. Our top two picks should be for defense. Maybe McFrazier can figure a way to make one of these super athletic DEs a rookie of significant impact in the first and then a corner in the second that can easily beat out our current LCB in the second. Somebody with balls skills yet loves contact.
  14. Well, most draftnicks are saying no DEs will be worth it at pick 30 and that we should trade up to try and get one. That makes sense to me (if it is true and it is possible. Who knows though? I could still see a better veteran DE than anyone we could draft at 22 becoming available refusing to renegotiate or something.....
  15. Where are the broncos finding this money? Why don't they waive Von Miller?! Come on? We need him to win a Super Bowl!
  16. DE, TE/CB, DT, WR, G, RB..... That's the order..... And the DE spot seems so far and away ahead of everything else because of the weakness on our team, the cost of DEs and the scarcity. It's like miracle time there. Can Epenesa amaze in year two? Can Daryl Johnson explode in year three? Can we find perhaps a tweeter that can only rush the passer? At least we have four signed.... I really want Ertz to make our offense that much deeper and diversified. It is such a long season. Maybe if we took a corner at 30 we could become more of a man team and blitzed more? With our new rookie light pass rusher as the Fifth? In a defensive shake-up, the Bills take a two-gapper DT to help free Ed O and change-up our simple defense. I want to watch Ed O and think, "he definitely shot that gap as fast as he could to hit the QB as fast and as hard as hecould." WR - I wish we could afford to take one at 30 even if we sign Ertz. Like I said above, the season is so long and we ran out of high level skill players for the playoffs last year when Beasley got hurt and Smoke couldn't get healthy. I'd be fine if we went WR #1 to make sure Allen doesn't run out of talent again. We have three guards we need a C/G added to the mix. We really have to work on therun game I think more than anything else. We have four RBs for camp now, we need a legit fifth to compete. I'd say either fast or full-size (big).
  17. I want McKenzie to remain a Bill and return kicks and I want the Bills to draft a fast WR in the first three rounds and I want him to return punts. Then. Then, we will should have enough depth at WR to manage the long and arduous NFL season. I gotta say it was telling however, that when Beasley and Smoke were down with injuries, Daboll could not plug McKenzie in there at all to replace either one of them.... Maybe it would be best for the Bills, to get back up WRs with more potential than McKenzie at this point? IDK? Close call, McKenzie improved in his time in Buffalo and it is sort of nice knowing he is a veteran and a fast one at that. As far as money goes, I say he needs to make 100,000 more to make a move to Chicago profitable. Otherwise, I think he is better off here....
  18. What do we do? Imho, we need a huge influx of talent at pass rusher but can't afford him and he'll come way overpriced.... We definitely need some major talent added to the defense. DE, CB and DT. Never mind backup LB. We also need major talent added to WR and TE.... and have to find someone to compete with the four RBs we currently have and is good enough to perhaps win the job. Never mind we need a guard and a back up OT. LOL, Our needs to be a Super Bowl favorite are many.
  19. Of course, the game is on Allen's shoulders but it's his wide-receivers in particular tomorrow that will be his focus. On defense, I'll go with our star again in tredavious White. I think Tre has more leeway than the other corners and he will use that along with his amazing athleticism and game smarts to create a few eye-popping plays. Jerry Hughes has all of two playoff games on his resume but that is enough proof to me that he will take his game to another level tomorrow. In fact, I like both starting Ends to be quite visible tomorrow as Mario Addison also looms large tomorrow.
  20. I knew we needed a change and seeing the new change you give him your support and the benefit of doubt.
  21. What you call a weakness, I call a minor adjustment. We've played the NFL's best (Pittsburgh, San Francisco, New England and more) and came away really unscathed. I don't think anyone even forces us into our 5-2 from here. It's going to be mostly 4-2 and some 4-3 from here. Even if Tennessee (say) had its perfect game and somehow stopped Allen for three possessions and also scored on three possessions I think Allen and our offense could make it up in a blink (because you have to play four quarters and no one has been close to stopping us and not only that but we're likely to be fully healthy on offense for the first time since the beginning of the year!) and the defense would make adjustments to shut whatever offense down. Then, and this is no slight thing, our special teams would make plays to get us back in there. In short, we aren't going to lose before KC and this is more than likely the year we win it all. Just have to stay relatively healthy from here.
