  1. He actually looked reasonably intelligent on Gruden's show... I think he'll be good in the right system... Phil would be a good landing place for him... Maybe Oakland...
  2. The whole idea of trading Byrd is nonsense. I doubt Pettine would be in favor of getting rid of one of his best young players on defense. A ballhawking playmaker at that... The Bills will sit down after the draft and workout a long term deal with Byrd's agent...
  3. Based on what Buddy said to John Murphy, Buddy obviously thinks that there are at least two (2) Franchise QBs in this draft... and some other good QBs as well... QB in the 1st rd - bank on it...
  4. The Guy we just traded for??? Or do you mean the FA we just signed? The media is frequently being fed disinformation by the various NFL teams to mask their true feeling about players they may be interested in taking...
  5. What you said is partially true. Successful teams have to make these value decisions all the time... And they couldn't/shouldn't pay Levitre $7-8 Million per year... BUT... I don't see that "REPLACEMENT" you mentioned... On a related note, I find it interesting to see so many of my fellow TBD posters espousing the idea of drafting Chance Warmack, another Guard, to replace Levitre... Wasn't drafting Levitre a mistake in itself because he is ONLY a guard (and therefore not worth $7-8Million per year) and now we want to replay that same mistake by again drafting a lowly unimportant position like OG in the 1st round? You can't have it both ways folks... You simply can't demean the OG position by saying "we can always draft one in the lower rounds" (ESPECIALLY with Buddy's track record so far...) and if you are advocating draft Warmack you are setting yourself up for another failure down the road like Levitre... A good GM would also have worked out a cheaper long term deal with Levitre last year and not wait till the last minute when you know his price is going to be significantly higher...
  6. Assuming no trade down, take the best QB at #8 and the best remaining WR at #41... I have no idea who the best QB is but it wouldn't totally shock me if the 1st QB off the board is not named Smith... I can't wait for draft night...
  7. http://www.wgr550.com/Buscaglia--NFL-Mock-Draft--3/15912749 Check out Joe Buscaglia's 3rd Mock Draft at GR55...
  8. I actually like the new format and after the top 3 rds it's even more of a crap shoot...
  9. It's interesting that the Bills haven't announced his signing yet officially...
  10. SMITH OR BARKLEY AT #8.... You can't thumb you nose at the top 2 QBs in the draft...
  11. He'll make a good backup QB who can give you decent play for 4-5 games if necessary in case of injury... He'll never see 13 million... My guess is 3-4 million per year --- that is backup pay...
  12. It's hard to judge a receiver based solely on his rookie season... Eric Moulds sucked for his first two-three years before blossoming.... Then again, Jerry Butler seemed headed for stardom in his rookie season... Some guys just take a little longer to develop.... Some just suck - like Ruvell Martin...
  13. There are still FAs to be signed that may change some of those needs... Get the Best QB at #8... Get a Top WR at #41... Let them grow together... Get another LB and a CB in FA... DHB is still out there as well...
  14. Critical Thinking??? Remember we're talking Buddy Nix here.... And since he is retiring supposedly right after the draft, I don't think his career will be affected much either... I'd start getting used to the idea of drafting a QB at #8... My guess is either Smith or Barkley or both will be there at #8
  15. How about the Bills simply drafting the Best QB available at #8 and follow that with the best WR available at #41... Nobody knows what will happen next year... The Bills need to find 4 good football players in this years draft... They should be able to replace Nelson and Jones with UFAs...
  16. Cap space should not be a problem... By doing long term deals with Byrd, Wood and Spiller they can structure those deals to give them more cap space flexibility... Hopefully, Wood can stay healthy all season... They really need to hit on their top 3 picks in the draft... They haven't been doing that in Buddy's 1st 3 drafts...
  17. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/27/colt-mccoy-wont-be-with-the-browns-much-longer/ Perhaps McCoy will end up being a Bill yet...
  18. Where is that OLine today? And remember that Wood, Byrd and Levitre were 2009 draftees - Buddy's 1st draft was 2010... Levitre is gone... Rhinehart is gone.... Wood seems to get injured much of the time...
  19. Alot of Lies are gonna be told between now and the draft... Get the best QB you can at #8... Get the best WR you can at #41.... Start both on opening day... Palmer is a waste of time and money...
  20. How about Buddy's OTHER PICKS??? You know, the ones he actually drafted??? Like Troup, and the aforementioned Aaron Williams... in fact only Spiller has had any great success from that first draft.... And Dareus hasn't exactly lived up to his billing either although most of us still have high hopes for him... But wouldn't A J Green or Julio Jones have been better picks based on their track record so far??? And I can remember one or two guys I'd rather have than Troup too...
  21. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/25/report-highly-unlikely-carson-palmer-restructures-deal-with-raiders/ Sounds more like Palmer ends up in Arizona leaving Barkley for the Bills if they want him....
  22. Maybe if we had a Super Bowl contending team like the Packers, I could see shelling out 8.25 Million for Finley...
  23. Simple - you draft a WR at #41... There will plenty of WRs there for the picking....
