I like the thought process behind this post, but I just don't see McDermott ever getting over the hump. I'd go as far to say that his overall personality and temperament is a hindrance. His teams routinely get tight in big moments, and that's a reflection on him.

Was there a single Bills fan on earth that thought he was going to make that kick last night?

Random talking head says something about the Bills

The only difference between Allen and Mahomes is luck of the draw. Mahomes went to the greatest playcaller possibly ever with two first-ballot HOF pass catchers. Allen went to a guy who is so poor at evaluating offensive talent that he thought Nate Peterman should initially start over him. -
Nico Collins was picked shortly after. He'd be nice right now.

Picking him and Boogie Basham 1 and 2 that year was why we got to watch Trent Sherfield play meaningful minutes while dropping multiple bombs last night. Criminal how little they've built around Allen.

Anyone else more low-key about this loss than you thought you'd be?

I numb to it at this point. This would be an all-time haunting loss for almost any other franchise, but I feel like I've see at least a dozen that were worse from the Bills. I expected that they would blow it, and they obliged. No surprise or gut punch feeling at all. -
Very glad to hear that Norwood 2.0 has a contract that makes him essentially uncuttable. Awesome news!

No, he left early. Probably had to run off to call his brother and ask him to demand he be traded again.

How do fans even think about the future at times like this?

I have found myself enjoying watchinh the game in general less and less each year. The fact that I pull for the most star-crossed team in the sport doesn't help. -
The Hamlin choice was weird. It's almost like McDermott though they were in a movie or something.

I, like everyone else, thought San Francisco was the class of the league and possibly destined for the SB. They are drowning right now. Lamar Jackson just had a Tyrod Tayor game. If we can hurdle the Chiefs, the world is ours, man.

That video reminded me to put things into perspective when I complain about the current iteration of the Bills. I love Moorman, but it was still a sad time when our punter was one of the most beloved members of the team.

Anytime Lamar runs into a coach in the postseason who has any defensive acumen, he turns into a poor man's Tyrod Taylor. He's not as good as Allen, Burrow, or Mahomes, for sure, and I don't think as good as A- guys like Herbert and Hurts either.

Dale Carter, a forgotten great 1990's DB.

This is nonsense. This team had tons of support when they didn't make the playoffs for almost two decades. Being a loyal fan doesn't mean you have to be a homer doofus who never criticizes anything.

The self-loathing nerds who comprise a lot of the media hate Allen because he reminds them of the guy in high school who dated the girls they had crushes on but never had a chance with. Most of the former players give him his due, outside a few of the black guys who openly hate every white QB (e.g. Dominique Foxworth).

What is your gut telling you right now?

And the Colts and Eagles lobbied for it that year, not the Bills. -

The Bills did not lobby for that rule change. The Chiefs did, however, after losing to NE in overtime in 2018. -
Bills release Fournette from the Practice Squad
T.E. replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall
Would've liked to see him get a chance in short-yardage situations a few times. Their version of the tush push is predictable as hell (Allen always goes left), and it's clear they've gone to the well one too many times there. -
In the NBA back during the David Stern years, they always had a specific ref - Dick Bavetta - work playoff games where a series needed to be extended to make it more competitive and/or a big-market team needed a boost to stay alive or advance. I have a feeling that a Hochuli would be a big-time company man and oblige such a request if, say, Goodell wanted to ensure that the most famous woman on earth attended the Super Bowl.

I really wish he'd cut that out. It's not only incredibly lame, it's completely beneath him given how tough a player he is.
