Wait, so the guy who robbed a Panda Express and brought two loaded guns to the airport is kind of a jerk?

Josh Allen now tied with Troy Aikman for career Passing TDs
T.E. replied to Billzgobowlin's topic in The Stadium Wall
They essentially outlawed hitting the QB and playing bump-and-run coverage on receivers, which is the main reason for the sizable statistical difference. -

Same...passing numbers didn't really explode until around 2000ish. It's why you really can't compare eras for QBs. -
Turnovers - The Bills Achilles Heel (Statistical Overview)

I mean like they're going to lose a playoff game because of special teams -
Turnovers - The Bills Achilles Heel (Statistical Overview)
T.E. replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall
Their inability to take care of the ball, coupled with their shaky special teams, is going to rear its head eventually, I'm afraid. -
Love seeing Indy taking a beating. I don't feel great about that Miami game Week 18, so it would be great of we could still get in if we drop that one.

Peacock subscription question ( Bills game related)
T.E. replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. I had to fly out of town for work on December 10th, and was hoping to use the app to watch the Bills-Chiefs game, but of course since it was nationally televised it was blacked out on Ticket. The one time I really needed it and it was worthless. $400 bucks a year and the Bills were on regular TV every week. -
This will be the first game I miss in 27 years. Thanks NFL

PPV Super Bowls are right around the corner, I'm afraid -
Are you misremembering his career? Leonard Smith was notorious for hitting ballcarriers after they had already taken a few steps out of bounds. Having a guy like that in the secondary is frustrating, but it keeps opposing skill position players nervous, which isn't the worst thing in the world.

It's far from the worst rule in football. Totally fine the way it is, but I'm sure the NFL will find a way to change the game in yet another way to benefit the offense.

Greenberg - A Jets Fan - Pushing Back Against The Allen Hate
T.E. replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
The same Dan Marino who never won a playoff game in cold weather and was 0-3 versus Kelly in the postseason? Okay. By this logic, Barry Sanders is REALLY overrated since he has an atrocious postseason resume. -

Is Cousins better than Fields, yes or no? Who gets clowned on and who gets praised? Exactly, dork. -

They were wildly different because tons of rule changes were implemented to hamstring defenses and juice up passing. There's a reason why Andy Dalton has more than 5000 yards passing than guys like Phil Simms and Troy Aikman. -

McNabb played in era where hits on the QB and bump-and-run coverage by DBs were virtually outlawed. You cannot statistically compare QB eras from the past with guys that spent the bulk of their careers post-2000. -

Jim Kelly is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Let me know if Donovan McNabb is ever inducted. -

There's nothing ridiculous about it. Compare how objectively good QBs with great stats like Allen and Cousins are criticized endlessly while a below-average one like Justin Fields is never held to the fire for poor performances and even gushed over. The bias is real, despite it being a truth you find inconvenient. -

The fact that is is clearly disliked for no real reason by, I don't know, 90% of black media members, maybe? Christ, Dominique Foxworth said on an ESPN show that he didn't like Allen because the type of people who do "have American flags and pictures of their dogs in their Facebook profiles." Pull your head out of the sand and read between the lines. -

This has nothing to do with NYC producers disliking Allen because he plays in Buffalo. Allen has always been treated poorly by the media because he had the audacity to be drafted ahead of Lamar Jackson, which idiots view as an act of overt racism. Kirk Cousins gets the same treatment because he unseated RG3. Let's be honest with what is happening here.- 181 replies

Never-ending greed is ruining this league; I can't think of one change under Goodell's tenure that has truly made the game better. If (a BIG if) the Bills can somehow win a Super Bowl soon, the time I spend watching the NFL is going to drop precipitously. Nowhere near as fun to watch as it was before that stooge entered the picture.
-
I think it's a stretch to call this a mentally tough team, sorry. They won an important game on the road against a comparable opponent; it wasn't a Douglas-Tyson type moment.
-
That's the vaunted McDermott prevent. Designed to avoid giving up the huge play in favor of giving up significant chunks of yardage to a team with multiple timeouts. When it works, we hold them to a long FG try that always is good and then let the chips fall in OT, where we lose. But it's a respectable loss.

Calling it now: Bills are going to at least reach the AFCCG
T.E. replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everyone making the 2021 comparisons seems to forget that the last four games that season were a cakewalk compared to the five they probably have to win over the next month this year. -
Hard to believe we're pretty much out of the playoffs and looking up at multiple teams who are no choice but to play backup QBs for long stretches. A wasted season, during the first year in Allen's career where there are no AFC teams without major flaws.

Philly, Buffalo, Kansas City - How Refs Treat Them
T.E. replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought the same thing watching the game. Collinsworth and Tirico were apoplectic about the non-calls on the PI's because they didn't benefit the Chiefs and golden boy Mahomes. When the Bills play games that seem borderline-fixed, the announcers are just like, "Tough call on the Bills there" after something egregiously bad and then change the subject immediately.
