  1. You're right...it's totally normal for a team that has five 20+ point victories (including a couple against the league's best) to lose multiple games to awful teams necause of mental errors. It's also definitely commonplace for the team's best player and MVP candidate to have awful body language and never get into a rhythm for a whole season. Lots of great teams also emotionally no-show a couple of games a month, including a home Divisional round playoff game.
  2. They're absolutely awesome sometimes and then terrible many times. The variance is bigger than for any Bills team I can remember.
  3. For every Dallas game, there's three games like the Giants or Broncos or Chargers game.
  4. It's felt this way the past three seasons. They just always seem mentally exhausted. Tons of games where they have no spark, nothing goes smoothly, players constantly looking beleaguered and embattled...it's weird, right? I can't put my finger on it, but there has been something off mentally with them for a long time. My gut says it's coaching, but the players supposedly like McDermott & Co.
  5. I've never seen so much "The NFL is scripted" talk in my 30+ years of watching this game as i have this season. Goodell needs to take note that this is the result of a serious problem the league has with officiating.
  6. I'll zig while everyone zags and say he should dress. This is a guy who has a documented history of coming up huge in big games. He'll be looking to make an impact too, after what had to have been a humiliating benching.
  7. This coaching regime has never been great at offensive talent. Whatever, it worked out okay...I'm totally fine with him not starting in that Ravens bloodbath.
  8. So the Bills are playing arguably the biggest regular season game any team has ever had, huh? That doesn't make me feel great at all.
  9. I haven't felt good about this game for the last month.
  10. Too many bird teams too, IMO
  11. I have a theory that they put the throwbacks on the shelf because they are going to change to them full time when the new stadium opens. Kinda like a New Coke-type situation.
  12. Every player in the league is probably on some form of PED. I refuse to believe "technological advancements" are the sole reason why 290-lb guys now run 4.4 forty times or why the recovery period for knee ligament tears has been reduced by 40%.
  13. When Reid was HC in Philly, he made a lot of the same mistakes that McDermott makes now and was fired despite having a more impressive resume.
  14. Wait, so the guy who robbed a Panda Express and brought two loaded guns to the airport is kind of a jerk?
  15. They essentially outlawed hitting the QB and playing bump-and-run coverage on receivers, which is the main reason for the sizable statistical difference.
  16. Same...passing numbers didn't really explode until around 2000ish. It's why you really can't compare eras for QBs.
  17. I mean like they're going to lose a playoff game because of special teams
  18. Their inability to take care of the ball, coupled with their shaky special teams, is going to rear its head eventually, I'm afraid.
  19. Love seeing Indy taking a beating. I don't feel great about that Miami game Week 18, so it would be great of we could still get in if we drop that one.
  20. I take every "My teacher/coach/whoever called me a loser for no discernible reason and look where I am today" story with a gigantic grain of salt.
  21. Agreed. I had to fly out of town for work on December 10th, and was hoping to use the app to watch the Bills-Chiefs game, but of course since it was nationally televised it was blacked out on Ticket. The one time I really needed it and it was worthless. $400 bucks a year and the Bills were on regular TV every week.
  22. PPV Super Bowls are right around the corner, I'm afraid
  23. Are you misremembering his career? Leonard Smith was notorious for hitting ballcarriers after they had already taken a few steps out of bounds. Having a guy like that in the secondary is frustrating, but it keeps opposing skill position players nervous, which isn't the worst thing in the world.
  24. It's far from the worst rule in football. Totally fine the way it is, but I'm sure the NFL will find a way to change the game in yet another way to benefit the offense.
  25. The same Dan Marino who never won a playoff game in cold weather and was 0-3 versus Kelly in the postseason? Okay. By this logic, Barry Sanders is REALLY overrated since he has an atrocious postseason resume.
