The only reason an owner would begin to care about the media is if they diminish earnings. No one is spending less on the Bills because of TBN. There's zero chance the Pegulas care if Graham and Sullivan like the GM.
The Bills have been beyond fair to Tyrod. A 3 year deal that voids after 2 if he starts - they honored it and he would have been a free agent after this season. Instead of making him play out that second year after voiding the 3rd - they pay him very good money in that 2nd year instead and give him an opportunity to earn huge money. We have now paid him and we either pay him 30 million or he gets a chance to get the most he can get in free agency. They have been incredibly gracious to him.
This is really a misinformed take. There's a ton of successful head coaches that call plays. Calling plays is one of the most important responsibilities in all of football - it's critical the right person is doing it.
This is such BS. The Pegula's by all accounts seem like really great people and would appear to be fantastic to work for. Bills fans should be proud to have such owners that attract people to their genuine nature. I will never forget a Billionaire crying that this is our team and they're staying. They desperately want continuity - that's extremely attractive for any hopeful head coach to be. Our facilities are outstanding and I mean outstanding - even with an old stadium. There's approximately 4-6 openings every year to be an NFL head coach and getting snubbed is a ridiculously lazy small minded view. Teams needing coaches are typically in a state of uncertainty. Why the hell else would they be looking for a new coach - except in the irregular cases like Denver this year for example? Every new coach knows he's going into a challenging situation that almost always means the QB situation is unsettled.
Don't pay attention to blowhards like King and fellow posters that just love to mire in this type of crap.
You could be right on the motivation but it seemed more like self preservation to me. I think he can still play but he's selfish enough to just want to leave the game unharmed, JMO.
I would trade picks this year for picks next year - then package those and next years to do what it takes to get this kid. If you didn't have a team with the number one pick with a QB already it would still be difficult.
Some people just feel the way they want to. If they want to think the Pegula's are fish floundering out of water - there's nothing that can be said to change their mind except winning.
I said we're close to the playoffs, which we were. We act like we're the Browns reeling with no where to turn. We are not. We have talent and have at least as good a roster as 6-8 teams with better records.
What's nice about reflecting on this season is we are a couple games away from being a playoff team. Our fan base with the blow everything up mentality are really off the rails. Hard to completely blame them because the drought makes you delirious but we're not a team completely void of hope.
