Would you consider the Boogie Basham pick to be a disappointment?
ganesh replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
You really had to do that ? A rookie player that was picked at the end of the 1st round ?? Go Bills ! -
We have drafted Cook for exactly that reason. The Bills are using the Patriots approach to develop their game around the QB. They used a ton of RBs, Slot receivers and TEs to keep everything off balance. They never had big bodied WR other than Moss. They mostly threw to Welker and then to Edelman and Gronkowski, They always had a stable of small backs that were very fast.

and may be better OL -
> He literally only has to beat the guy covering him on most plays That is definitely not true. You can see on several replays of his completions as well as drops that he is double covered. His ability to get separation means that a safety is always trailing him. > His game against them accounted for over 21% of his yards and over 28% of his tds towards his yearly totals. This wiwll be true for many players. Last year if you took Derrick Henry's stats - He had big lumps of 150+ yard in a few games. Even Diggs has not been productive last 2-3 games. If you take Josh's TD against Miami, he suddenly may look pedestrian for rest of his games! > He only has 373 yards & 2 tds in his other 10 games. What you are saying is that Davis not consistent week in week out. However, we should check if someone else benefited in those weeks. The Bills spread the ball around and not focus only on their top two WRs. We have TD catches from Shakir, Hines, Morris, Gilliam, Cook, Singletary etc. > Imo his true position is a deep threat #3 WR in this league. Unfortunately not what I was hoping for or expecting. Still a solid WR though. Davis never had the elite speed. That is what pushed him to the 4th Rd in the draft. You are asking for what you cannot get. Davis is available for one more season. The Bills will not be in a hurry to extend him next year.

against the Bears ! Epenesa has 6.5 sacks for this season. With the Bills rotating their DL very aggressively, we are never likely to have 10-15 sack season from your backup DE. I think AJ has filled in well for Miller. Did the Bills whifff on getting a Blue chip player - Yes Did the Bills whiff on getting a solid player - No -
You are good at Comprehension !!! Go Bills !

We were playing the Bears !!!

Don't forget Murray in that mix!!! Lamar may still get a contract similar to Wilson or Murray, but he will be in the same situation as Watson or Wilson. Go Bills! Burrow will be in line next to get the best contract and hopefully he will sign a team friendly deal for the Bengals. Mahomes, Allen and Burrow will be the face of the AFC for the next decade. -
He threw for three TDs in the game in 2019 (10-6 year with Wild Card exit) at Orchard Park

The Patriots won 17 AFC East Division crown in 19 seasons (since 2001). The Dolphins and Jets won once each. The Bills have quite a ways to match that statistics
-
Panthers, Falcons to add

Yes. However, he also got lucky to play a weak AFC West (Denver, Raiders) and a weak AFC South (Texans, Jaguars, Titans, Indy) and fairly weak NFC West (Cardinals, Seattle, Rams, 49ers). The Bills on the other hand has met stiff competition in the AFC East (Lost to Miami and Jets) and a AFC North that is likely to send at least 2 teams to the Playoffs (Baltimore and Bengals)and an average NFC North (Vikings, Packers, Lions, Bears). Plus the Bills had to go through adversity with the weather playing 3 games in 12 days (all on the road) and still pulled victories in all of them

Leslie Frazier expected to be "in the mix" for Broncos HC job

and add all those injuries to key players...Hyde, Poyer, Oliver, Miller, Edmunds, Milano, White, Phillips, Rosseau, Epenesa all have missed games during the regular season and yet they are 3 plays away from being 15-0. -
I believe Tua is a much better QB and will bring a lot more stability to the Dolphins organization than Mike White.

Garett Wilson has been a fantastic #1 WR. Corey Davis is also a #1 WR...and Mims is not far behind... Technically they may have a better cast than the Bills at this point (Minus Diggs). -
The Bills need to move away from McKenzie as the slot receiver and either put Beasley permanently or have Shakir replace him and give them the reps. McKenzie has been a big disappointment as a slot receiver. He has not been that safety valve for Josh. I still think the best combination on the field will be. Hines/Cook in the backfield and Diggs/Davis/Knox at WR. This combination can be a huge mismatch. I also remember (there was even a video on it) how Daboll used Davis and Beasley combination to ensure that Diggs or Knox was always wide open. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzO2-KNemQM I would rather get the WR with the #1 and take OL on 2 and 3.
