It is like the Bellichek theory. Take out the best player on the other team and dare the rest to beat you.
THe problem is that this is a fantasy driven league....and stars are made with who shine in fantasy. Singletary does not.
This is the NFL and the other teams are also good. You can't expect to have a blow out every day. In fact, during the last 5 games (other than the game against Miami), it is our offense that has been pedestrian.
On the flip side, we also know how to beat the Dolphins.....we came within a whisker of a play to beat them in that 120 degree heat and that would have made it 9-0 against them...and if Charles clay had made an attempt to catch that beauty thrown by 17, then we could be talking 10 straight wins against the Fish
great post of the year.
The margin of error to win a championship is razor thin and a fluke play here and there could deflate you. However, the teams that win the championships are the ones that do well in what they can control. At the end of the day, the team that makes the least amount of errors wins the ring. Go Bills!
The Bills defense statistically is awesome. no doubt about that. Their biggest problem during the win streak (and in the two losses) have been the inability to get off the field on 3rd and Longs. If anyone had the stats for that, it would be great. This probably is the biggest thing posters are hard on the Bills defense.
Having said that, I think when the game was on the line (Jets, Dolphins), the defense snuffed out the plays and sent them home. Josh himself has said multiple times that the Defense has bailed them out,
Oscar also gives an award for the Best Picture ....and that comes from best acting, best direction, best screen play, best editing, best sound track etc.
We can't put all the blame on Dorsey, We don't know if the players are executing or not executing their tasks, Every team makes half time adjustments and sometimes it is purely the flow of the game.
The games are closer because the other teams have playmakers too. Miami had a strong running game and two WRs who were better than our DBs in their execution. However, I am sure their fans are screaming how Gesecki has not been involved in the offense or why the Dolphins did not run more in the 2nd half. It is simply possible that the Bills tightened the run game and gave more opportunities for the Dolphins in the passing game and in turn the Bills defense played better pass defense in the 4th quarter.
Enjoy the ride, Go Bills !
