May be they can cut Tim Settle

They were 13 seconds from going to the AFC Championship game. I am sure they definitely sniffed it only to be snuffed out !

Beane on Rich Eisen - great listen and insight

A GM never drafts in isolation. I am pretty sure that he works with the HC and the rest of the coaching staff closely in identifying whom to draft. -
That shows how terrible it is outside. Frankly, there are not much places to get news on the Bills unless you were local in. Buffalo (and reading daily papers and listening to daily talk shows). TBD has been my one resource for the last 20 odd years (since it was formed from our previous chat boards).

Had to give a B+ for adding protection to Josh Allen. But ignoring the defense especially DT and MLB. We were weak on defense in the Playoffs and we did nothing to address it. Hopefully, a few Veteran FA in those two positions will be hired post May 2nd

I think Shakir shares snaps with Diggs, Davis and Knox on the perimeter. Kincaid shares snaps with Cook and Sherfield A lot of exciting possibilities. Josh and Ken were simply looking for the big plays in the 2nd half of the season. They need to trust the RB and TEs to make plays YAC.

Kincaid is really taking up the slot receiver position. (McKenzie, Crowder and then Beasley late in the season). I think we will go with the same split like last year for Cook and Harris (Singletary). I think Cook gets the higher number of carries than Harris (Harris is also on just a one year deal). WR is really not a glaring need. If they involve Kincaid and Cook in the passing game significantly, then those catches/touches (of the WR group) will shift to them. Josh needs to learn to make more of those touch passes this season and let these two athletes get the YAC. MLB is a huge unknown and concerning to me especially considering that we have not improved the front four with a big run stopper. This finesse defense needs to go and we haven't drafted or picked in FA any player that can stop the run consistently.

If you look at where our pain point was last time and if we have solve it, then the answer is NO. The playoffs are NOT about outscoring your opponents with offense. That works against weak teams in the Wild card. But when it comes to Divisional and Championship round, the defense has to be strong and control the line of scrimmage. Chiefs and Bengals have that type of defense. Unfortunately, the Bills did not improve that area in FA or the Draft. The Bills were weak in Defense (in spite of giving up less points) when it came to the playoffs. The defense gave up 33 points to the Dolphins (with a 3rd string QB) and then 27 points to the Bengals. Both games were at home. In the Bengals game, the defense was unable to stop the quick pass and the run game. They were able to control the line of scrimmage. The pass rush was sorely missing. The pass rush was also missing against the Dolphins 3rd string QB. On the defensive side, the Bills will not have Von MIller for the 1st half of the season. I hope he is ready for the playoffs. Unless Epenesa, Basham and Rosseau can step up significantly, we will not be able to get to Mahomes, Burrow. Heck, we will have difficulty with Jackson, Herbert and Watson. The Bills need a change in defensive philosophy and need strong play by Jones, Oliver and Settle along with the above DEs and Shaq Lawson to make a difference in the Playoffs. But will that be enough to overcome the deficiency of our defense when comes to Divisional or Championship round? Totally agree. The drafted players on our defense MUST make a difference for us to win a SB. That includes. Oliver, Rosseau, Basham, Epenesa, Elam, Bernard, Williams, (all Day 1 or Day 2 picks). The ROI on this group of people (minus Williams) have been below average to terrible. That is the biggest reason for this team to be choking in the playoffs.

Bills Sign UDFA 6’6 WR Shavers (Reportedly 3 year deal)

Back Surgery. Reported in January. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2023/1/26/23572669/jake-kumerow-injury-buffalo-bills-back-surgery-recovery-training-camp-2023 -
The TE drafting is our WR. The Bills are high on Shakir and they will go with Diggs, Shakir, Gabe, Kincaid, Knox. They also will push more on their run game with the signing of Harris.
-
Yeah..Elam and Cook are going to be stars in this league.
-
Its not all on Dorsey. The Bills did have a top 5 Offense last season. We had injuries to the OL, WRs and QB. The Bills defense was more problematic
-
The draft is a crap shoot. If you had a feel for a certain player and you needed to get him, the 4th round pick is not important.
-
you can't draft all of them
-
now trade up in to the top of the 3rd and get your MLB
-
so no trade down!
-
You can't pay everyone. I think the Raiders have to take a one time cap hit on all the mess they have created with Carr.

The era of the DD KKgun has begun…. Who else is excited?

The same thought stuck me on seeing the video

I think it is the DL. they have brought in a starter on the OL in FA and will probably add at least another one in the draft. There are also some good DEs available post draft that they can get without counting against the cap. The biggest hole at this time is DT. They have to find a starter in this draft.

To be fair, the 2nd half of the season seemed to be a "low scoring" team even though they scored more in the 2nd half of the season. It is the perception.
-
The Bills are weakest on Defense
-
I don't think the Bills perceive WR as a need. They signed two veteran FA in the off season. I think Shakir will surprise a lot of people this year. The Bills will go defense in RD1 (or OL)
-
To be fair the list does not include even other great QBs such as Burrow, Jackson, Herbert...or even Kelce

Peter King/FMIA/PFT 1st Round Mock Draft
ganesh replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Joe Marino had done a good research on Gabe and his skill set. The important one was that Gabe had very little thrown to him in the 5-10 yards space...That is because he doesn't get the early separation...However, as evidenced in Joe Schoen's commentary (during the draft time), Gabe closed very fast.....I think that is why he is very good beyond the 15 yard throws.... Now, if you have a fantastic slot guy, then Gabe could continue to create havoc in the mid-range space. All the more I don't see the Bills investing on a WR in the 1st round...I still think it will be a RT or a LB.
