I have to think Elway will go for a veteran QB like Alex Smith. IT give him an opportunity to win immediately; especially with that dominating defense they have there.

This is going to be one crazy and fun draft this year. The Bills will NOT mortgage the farm and instead go the Veteran route by signing an Alex Smith and drafting a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round. It provides them a safer option and then use all those picks to get some blue chip players for defense and OL. If it is really going to be true that 5 QBs will be taken in the top 10, then some real good prospects at other positions are going to slide down.

THat team had an Aging Veteran defense. I wouldn't call it great!

It is really McDermott that needs to get full credit for breaking the drought. He brought a culture change to this organization and made this team believe in themselves. They went through a crappy 3-game losing streak including a QB benching; but he swallowed his ego and brought the QB back and then went on a 4-2 run to close out the season. He did not put the team in disarray or second-guess themselves at any time. Even when we lost that game to Carolina with a finger-tip miss at the end of the game, he gave full credit to his team for staying there till the final whistle and to learn from the experience of losing a close game. I think that made the players feel responsible and accountable for their actions. As I wrote in another thread, the most important concept that he drilled into his team is what Pegula mentioned in his post-game Press Conference: "Sean does NOT ask a player to do something that he himself cannot do". There were NO ANTICS in that locker room.

The Bills defense appeared to be flat in the 4th quarter in the humid South Florida weather and were gassed by long drives by the Dolphins. Will the defense be able to stay physically strong through 4 quarters in a similar environment in Central Florida. It is a huge change to the body to train in sub-zero temp in Buffalo and then go play in 70 degree weather in Jacksonville. Our hope is to run the football and control the Time of Possession so that our defense remains strong and not fatigued. They have to figure out a way to get off the field after 3rd downs.

This is the first time in recent years where the playoffs are wide open and anyone can reach the Super bowl and win the trophy minus probably the Bills and Titans. It is tough on the AFC WC teams because they have to go through both NE and Pittsburgh to get to the Super bowl. I am not sure if they have the talent to do so. On the other hand, the NFC is really really wide open. Minnesota will lay the same egg like they did with Dennis Green's team several years ago (after going 15-1 in the regular season). Both the Saints and Panthers have enough experience in the team to get to the championship game and Atlanta was there just 11 months ago.

The Ravens fans are not giving enough credit to the Bengals here. A.J Green had been fairly un-coverable through the day and they had to put 2-defenders on him and when you have Kelce on the same field, it is hard not to have single coverage on the 3rd and 4th option. Boyd just took advantage of his matchup and made a great move.

While Clay dropped the sure TD against NE, he has been awesome through the season. It has been a long time since we actually had a pass catching TE that could both stretch the field and be at the same time the Safety valve for the QB. Without Clay, this offense has been pretty pedestrian

Our defense can get the turnovers. Where we have struggled is what we do after the turnover. The Bills offense needs to get points of those turnovers.

Correct. What they cannot do in this period is making any type of trades. If Denver releases Charles today, then the Bills are free to sign him as a FA. I don't know if Charles would have to go through the waiver wire, in which case the Jaguars could pick up his contract.

And probably expect Webb to be on the game day active roster and be on a few wild cat formations
