We have had our moments of "turning the corner" only to be fooled by it !!! Drew Bledsoe tricked us with a 6-2 start before fading away... J.P Losman's heroics against San Diego had us believing in him and for a playoff push....only to falter Trent Edwards had us 5-1 and ready to roll when hit by a concussion...and that was the end of it Ryan Fitzpatrick started 5-1 only to fade to a 1-9 finish !!!! Kyle Orton took us tantalizingly close to the playoffs before self destructing We perennial fans have been through this crap and hope against hope that Josh Allen is our guy. close...hope we get there on Sunday at 4 PM !!! that would be sweet The problem is that QB's like Mahomes, Watson have become very good in 2 years...Even the guy in the same class, Lamar Jackson, has become a star. The expectations and the bar is being set for young rookie signal callers to make that giant leap in year 2...It doesn't always happen...and NFL fans don't have the patience. This is the struggle for Mayfield, Allen and Darnold.

Benchmarking Ford vs. the offensive tackle class
ganesh replied to ny33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is what Chris Wessling @ nfl.com has built his all rookie team for 2019 http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001083965/article/2019-nfl-allrookie-team-offense-josh-jacobs-oroy-favorite No mention of Ford as a Tackle or Guard. TACKLES: Jawaan Taylor, Jacksonville Jaguars; Tytus Howard, Houston Texans Veteran pass rushers began the season taking advantage of Taylor as a Day 1 starter, but he hasn't been charged with a sack since Week 6. The second-round pick joins guard Andrew Norwell as the only Jaguars to play every snap this season. Billed as a high-upside project out of Alabama State, Howard ended up solving Houston's long-standing problem at right tackle before an MCL tear ended his season last week. Fellow first-round picks Andre Dillard and Kaleb McGary have disappointed in Philadelphia and Atlanta, respectively. GUARDS: Elgton Jenkins, Green Bay Packers; Dalton Risner, Denver Broncos Aaron Rodgers has credited this year's offensive line as one of the most reliable of his career, with Jenkins taking over as the starter in Week 3. While former All-Pro David Bakhtiari has mixed in a few clunkers this season, Jenkins is a rock in pass protection. Risner has been the bright spot on an underperforming Broncos offensive line that has otherwise continued to baffle team architect John Elway. CENTER: Erik McCoy, New Orleans Saints Already one of the NFL's steadiest all-around centers, McCoy has been an upgrade over retired veteran Max Unger in the running game as well as pass protection. He gets the nod over less-consistent Vikings center Garrett Bradbury, who has struggled at times to keep Kirk Cousins clean. With McCoy in the pivot, joining the stalwart tackle tandem of Terron Armstead and Ryan Ramczyk, the Saints' O-line nucleus stacks up with the cream of the crop. -

The only chance we play Henry will be for the right to represent the AFC in the Superbowl and if that happens it will have to go through New Era stadium. -

Is Ford likely to make it in the 2019 all-rookie team as the RT ? If so, then he did good in his 1st year -
Lorax has already decided that this is the last season in the NFL.

Nope. The defense gassed itself by allowing a 18 play drive from the Patriots 1 yard line...If you cannot get off the field or put pressure on the Patriots at thier one yard line, then that is your fault.

A Few Thoughts about the *Patriots Game, in no particular order

because we were hurt by their run game... -
Yeldon is on the inactive list due to Andre and Sinorise

A strong 3rd WR iss required for the QB to spread the ball. Look at the stat's sheet the last few weeks...Against the Steelers we had Brown catch 7 catches and no one else made any significant contribution. Similarly against the Patriots, wee had Beasley have 7 catches and rest had minimal contribution. We need more targets including involving the RBs in the passing game

If you could swap QBs with any team right now
ganesh replied to Max Fischer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It iss hard to put everything on the QB. Currently, all those teams have good playmakers surrounding the QB. We are still finding those pieces. Watson benefits from a 3-way monster at the WR position and so does Mahomes. Lamar Jackson makes a 1-2 punch in thee running game that has helped him with the passing game. And they all appear to have some of the best OL in football. The BIlls need to surround Josh Allen with more talent. 2019 was a good start with SingletaryKnox and Brown/Beasley. Need another WR and RB and of course OL help -

Tannenhill is playing behind a much better OL than at Miami. The protection has allowed him to make better decisions. -
If the 6th seed loses their playoff game, Most likely Baltimore (as we would be the lowest seed remaining). If the 6th seed wins their playoff game (It is possible, if the 6th seed is the Titans) then wee will play at NE or at KC

Why We Will Struggle in the Playoffs
ganesh replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. I think the Bills expected Gore is more productive in the 1st half and middle of the game. Also, Gore time has been impacted by th decision to go no-huddle with a 11-12 man group And finally, having Andre Roberts as the KR/PR and Senorise Perry has hurt the teams combination at the RB position. Roberts has taken up that 3rd RB position but has not been part of the passing game. Perry has played only special teams. The Bills can do nothing about it as both Roberts and Perry have done very well on ST.
