I haven't started a thread in forever. Here goes.

Completely disagree. Tyrod has not impressed me at all. I mean, I guess because our bar is so low over the past 20 years that Tyrod by default is playing slightly better than typical Bills football but I absolutely do not see him as some sort of magical solution. I would love for him to prove me wrong - but in the Giants, Patriots, Chiefs and now Eagles game he had the ball in the 4th and did nothing. I'm not a fan of complacency and I don't know how many excuses you want to give him, he didn't get the job done, we missed the playoffs with a stacked offense and there's nothing in the offseason we can do to make me feel confident about our future moving forward with Tyrod. -
It was another pathetic series of events that has become typical by the Bills.

Awful play call, awful decision, awful pass. A trifecta of sorts.

They weren't even good throws.

Week 14 Bills at Eagles 2nd half thread
fridge replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Keep celebrating cute stats. He throws no INTs because he takes no chances and won a game with 11 completions. It's a shiny toy and you are the helpless one if you can't see that every time we need a win late he is not capable of making the tough throws. He chokes. If it's not a layup to Clay with no defense on the field the passing game is awful. Seriously, wake up. His stats are not sustainable in games where we need to throw. Look at this game. 50% completion. It's garbage and you are still mesmorized by squeezing out wins against the Titans and Texans. He is the most overrated player on this team and all of his stats will regress to the mean when he is called upon to make throws to win. -
We watched different games if your takeaway was Mario, or any of defenders for that matter, caused us the game and ultimately the season. This offense continues to be a joke.
-
His statistics are blatantly skewed due to his limited pass attempts. If you think his stats would extend to the level of Brady's with the same number of attempts then we are watching different sports. Tyrod is managing the game well, and he has played the role perfectly against the Dolphins twice and the Texans. He also has thrown together a string of awful 3-and-outs that nearly cost the Totans game, did cost the Patriots and Giants games and probably cost the Chiefs game. All-in-all, he's better than Fitzpatrick, but not necessarily the answer. Let's see how the season unfolds first before we let stats make us extend this guy.

Which Bills make a play when one is needed? My thoughts:

Tyrod was not good in the second half. Some of you are delusional. He threw a blind duck in the flat that should have been a pick six early in the 4th. He seemed off, and let third downs get away from him. I still think it all goes to coaching though. Chucking it to Watkins in double coverage seems to be our answer, and we showed why in the first half. Not sure why they went away from that. Roman's decisions on third down continue to baffle me. He isn't helping matters with his best Hackett impression by running out of shotgun every opportunity. -
I agree that we need more screens, but we don't see eye-to-eye on the trying to run the ball up the middle over and over. We weren't converting 3rd and 5 and shorter. We did a solid job running the ball.

How drunk were you?

What is this now? -
I swear this forum is more sensitive than a knitting blog sometimes.

Michael Crabtree and Tavon Austin are not necessarily busts, in my opinion.

Oh is it old news for you? Are you sick of hearing about it now? You're not welcome here - not sure why everyone's being so polite to you. I've had to suffer through 15 years of blatant ref abuse. Each game, the calls are constantly weighted towards the "better" opponent and it's sometimes so obvious it becomes the longest thread the next day. We get NO benefit of the doubt, and sometimes it feels like the planets must align before we can complete a 5 yard pass. We had probably 10 threads in the week leading up to the game PREDICTING CORRECTLY that this nonsense would happen. But you're a pats fan and it happens to you one time and now you think it's all honky-dory? The blown whistle happened BEFORE he threw the ball by the way. You were not robbed a touchdown. It was an embarrassment that they held a damn seminar to figure out what to do and awarded your team a catch we weren't defending AND tacked on 15 yards despite no flag being thrown. Your QB threw a pick in the 1st quarter, and it was taken back and that was so mundane and average no one is even talking about it... is it old though? really? it's old news?

I agree that Tyrod probably has to take on some of the blame there. BUT - if that is the case, what kind of coach just shrugs his shoulders and goes, "oh well, the QB isn't seeing him". You have to make it perfectly clear. You need to take advantage of the play-maker, get him in space, and game plan around him on 3rd downs. We do NONE of that. He should be a focal point of our offense and bailing us out of trouble, and not just another cog in the wheel.

QB's should call their own plays
fridge replied to BoccesOnTransit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the two minute drive wasn't nearly as bad as our field goal drive that went from 7 minutes to 3 minutes. We wasted almost 2 minutes just messing around huddling up, looking confused. We ran out of time when we lost, so I have to assume this was a huge factor. Roman needs a HC that gets on him about the offense, which I don't think is happening. -
I hate to admit it, but Taylor sucks

You're right. Before it was just an entire half (twice). -
My biggest complaint is that Roman seems baffled by 3rd and 5 and shorter. Constantly over thinks the situation. Constantly does a designed run to Taylor. The worst was probably the last three calls in the London game.

Do the Bills still go QB in round 1?
fridge replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's even worse. -
Something isn't working though. He's not utilizing Watkins. I can't even understand the excuses anymore. Every other team seems to have no problem getting their star WR the ball.

Yeah, he needs to step it up. I found myself saying that a lot in the second half yesterday though, and he did not. -

You're right. He has continued to lose to above average teams. Not sure how that's a positive.
