  1. YES! I truly miss gems like these:
  2. Thanks for derailing the thread
  3. I have to agree with this take. The reality is that a lot of luck goes into getting your franchise QB and we don't have that. We took our chances. Using the OP's "last 20 years" template... We tried to buy a Carson Palmer...and Bledsoe didn't live up. We tried to draft a mid-round QB a la Russel Wilson...and Trent Edwards didn't live up. We tried to draft the top QB in the draft...and EJ didn't live up. We tried to draft a 1st round, not the best in draft QB...and JP Losman didn't live up. We even tried the hey you never know let's get a retread...and Fitzpatrick didn't live up. Maybe it's just incredibly hard to get a franchise quarterback? It always seems like the grass is always greener, but Tyrod is probably the best QB we could have gotten for this season.
  4. Cool, yet another thing the league will ram down our throats.
  5. There's never a more relevant time to say, "same old Bills," than when your only pro bowler is your punter.
  6. Yeah, this year we deserve to get snubbed. I suppose Clay is leading the AFC in catches so there's that...but no one else is really doing anything noteworthy.
  7. Yes, you know school very, very well.
  8. Did you even read any of the posts?
  9. Okay let's keep this about Easley, poor guy can't even get a thread without getting buried further down the depth chart.
  10. Agree with this philosophy 100%. I guess my only issue is that he's not getting an opportunity to answer the bell (or so it appears).
  11. Has anyone else wondered about the use of Easley, especially with our often depleted WR group? I'd like to think that the former 4th round pick is capable of playing the position and he often excels in preseason. Why is it a given that "preseason star" Hogan is automatically given an opportunity in the season, but Easley is overlooked? I get that he's the special teams ace but even there he can be used more. Why is Boom Herron returning kick offs? Easley had a 55 yard return his first season with the Bills and has a KR for a TD in a preseason. He seems more than capable of handling that role, and certainly is an upgrade to Herron and Dixon (honestly, why are they the ones back there?) It was great to see Easley get that touchdown on Sunday, I just hope that's not the last we ever hear of him.
  12. The major problem with another reset is that the team is in line to win now, sans quarterback. You say that we can't magically trade for a Pro Bowl QB, but unless Tyrod becomes one, we almost literally have to. I think there was a disconnect between the personnel assembled on the roster and the coaching scheme. Rex does not necessitate tremendous edge rushers in his style of defense, and our entire team was built around that last season. I would have to think that if we start a rebuild it will just be worse than the Jets' debacle over the past couple seasons. Let this sink in, if you will...when you say another full-blown housecleaning in a couple years, we're talking about extending the playoff drought to 20+ years.
  13. Cool. Maybe that guy knows his place. Did McLaughlin ever hold the role of de facto general manager? Is McLaughlin on the phone on draft day calling other teams, or is he smiling and supporting the franchise? Brandon has spearheaded the coach search multiple times. That's hardly the marketing guy's role. To absolve him from blame during his last 9 years of failure as a major figure with this team is simply naive. He's been way too involved with too many huge decisions for me to think it's a witch hunt. Sorry.
  14. How naive are you? What do you think he's doing here? or here?
  15. How many times do we have to prove that this isn't true? He's literally in the war room on the phone talking to GMs on draft day. It's possible that with the sabres job his role now is to just manage and report back to the Pegulas daily, but I'm willing to wager that his access to major football discussions doesn't count him out. It's very difficult to have a power shift and take away someone's role when there's no one to supervise him. My guess is Brandon is constantly discussing with Whaley and I would prefer he not have a say whatsoever
  16. Must see mobile device video stream*
  17. Tough spot for any QB these last three weeks with injuries. Robert Woods, Chris Hogan, D Moore - is that seriously our starting receiving group? Looks like Clay needs to have a big day.
  18. Mulligan (Gragg is a better receiver and Mulligan is the most frustrating player to see on 3rd downs - no way he is a #2 TE) Rambo (Nice way to enter the organization, but now that play time has increased I see him as a huge liability, especially in red zone coverage) Dixon (obvious) Goodwin (obvious)
  19. I don't know. I think a lot has to do with pre-snap reads and understanding exactly who will be open quickly.
  20. Maybe go through this again and see if you can find where I didn't understand what could be one of the simplest stats to comprehend. Is it possible that I made a harmless joke about the jets' declining record from 2012 onward? Lighten up.
  21. Of course I trust that the DL knows what they're talking about, but I don't think there's anyway that we can instantly change the scheme to produce more sacks. It appears that New England provided the formula to the rest of the league and that's to hurry up, snap the ball and make quick short passes. We need a totally different angle to beat teams that are doing this, and I think last week Rex made an effort. If blitzing and rushing defenders is useless when the ball gets out quick, then I think he was right to think that dropping into coverage would help. Unfortunately, the Bengals really beat us by running the ball late, and we had poor execution on 3rd downs (mostly unrelated to scheme in my opinion) which are whole different issues altogether. I think people are a little overblown with ridiculing Rex and his scheme, and I think every time we face a bad QB we will destroy them. Time will tell, and I hope that they can make the necessary adjustments to get the DE's to the QB, but it does seem as though the defense needs to figure out how to beat the quick pass.
  22. oh, so like what if it was L-L-L-L-L ?
  23. So more like W-W-L-L-L-L got it, sorry.
  24. yeah but it looks wonderful on TV
