  1. I think you're the one not living in reality. You seem to think Russ Brandon has a magical role with the team where he sits on clouds and prints season tickets. You actually trust him, because your favorite beverage is Kool Aid.
  2. I'm sure he sits silently and shoves his fist in his mouth when he has an opinion. I'm sure that in the draft room he just wants to make sure everyone has enough highlighters. "Don't let that guy leave the room!" - Russ Brandon
  3. People have been critical of Russ Brandon's involvement for almost ten years. I don't even understand your premise. He's absolved of criticism because why exactly? You think that he's in the war room and it means absolutely nothing? I don't even know where to start with this. He's literally calling GM's. That's involvement, sorry. The truth is that he HAS been here for 16 years of futility. He's been in charge for almost 10 years. If you think we've only just become critical of Russ Brandon, you haven't been paying attention.
  4. Yes, you told me last time that Seattle also has a Team President in the war room. Apparently that guy is better at his job.
  5. Absolute lack of accountability. I truly thought when the Pegula's came in, retaining Russ Brandon was out of the question. Now that he has leached even more out of them and is President of the Sabres, I am almost impressed by his schmoozing ability. A world class networker, if you will. I'm not even sure how you could competently be the President of both teams. Figure head positions like that are usually reserved for incredibly wealthy/successful people. In no way do I think every single failure of the Bills is linked to Russ Brandon, plenty of coaches and players have let us down...but we have missed the playoffs continually and he's been heavily involved almost the whole time.
  6. I LOVE When fans think that it's a wild conspiracy theory that Russ Brandon is deeply involved with the decisions of this team. He has been heavily involved in the hiring of all the recent coaches (I believe he straight up hired Doug Marrone) and he has a seat right at the table on draft day. He's making calls to GM's on draft day and is way too involved in football decisions. This is not debatable, and all of you that think he rescinded power when the Pegula's took over are absolute suckers. You think a guy that's very comfortable being heavily involved making personnel decisions is just going to hand in his badge when he doesn't have to? It's ridiculous. He's never been part of a winning organization, and most of the marketing that you all praise is awful, especially the Toronto deal. It's not hard to sell to this market. We love football. Now he's the President of the sabres? The guy eats at Tempo every week and is literally sponsored by a suit salesmen. He's full sleaze.
  7. BO climbs the pocket and has made some very impressive throws over the middle. At times he has looked fantastic. He also has looked quite bad at times, and I've watched him crumble under pressure. I think BO has a better chance to make it as a reliable starter in the league, but Tyrod's famous "ceiling" is probably higher.
  8. Yep. This thread is unfair. Bettman is one of the worst people in sports. He inherited a sport with the perfect number of teams in the right cities with high scoring and presence on ESPN... and he promptly lowered scoring, threw hockey in cities that don't deserve it, and signed the league's US TV deal to the Outdoor Life Network.
  9. Checking another team's message board...
  10. Yeah, Taylor was good. He's been fine in a number of games this year. He's an average QB and that's about what we should expect from him, to beat 4-11 teams at home in a glorified preseason game.
  11. No one compared Taylor to Holcomb except for you. Of course you would take Taylor over Holcomb 100/100 times. 300 yard games are not a complete barometer for QB success, I agree with that. I do think that yardage is a qualifier for "spectacular," which I believe is the essence of this thread.
  12. So you looked at three times Tyrod threw for a first down and said, look he won the game (which I agreed with). I looked at the whole year's 3rd down percentage (you didn't like that) and now I'm the one cherry picking stats that knows nothing about football.
  13. You mean... people that supported EJ last season?
  14. I disagree with your estimations, of course.
  15. Telling me to use google to find the stats that you conveniently eliminated to yield your own narrative is hilarious. Especially after I already found them and had to post them. Tyrod had a spectacular day in the same way that you're spectacular at watching football games with an unbiased opinion. Where have I heard that before That's a superlative, and you know it. If he climbed the pocket (something both Rex and Greg have been critical of) more often, then I'd give him the benefit of the doubt that the line was as bad as you say, but the guy has a tendancy to give up on passing plays pretty quickly.
  16. To your first point, the Cowboys are 4-11, and their offense gave us the ball back enough that 16 points at home should not be looked at as any sort of impressive feat. He did enough to win, and I will not take that away from him. The Bills were 6/14 on 3rd down, which was actually one of their better games and 0/1 on a "key" fourth down. On the season, they are 37.20% (20th overall). Not converting on 3rd downs is probably my biggest gripe with the offense, and Tyrod is not blameless here. For you to highlight only the plays he converted is really pathetic, in my opinion, and one of the reasons why I think this is becoming a polarizing/divisive topic among Bills fans. They have failed at the end of games or on key third downs several times throughout the season. I am not going to "be miserable" about Taylor, I'm going to root for him to succeed. I'm going to temper my optimism that he'll have a miracle progression in his SIXTH NFL offseason, and if you think that means I'm miserable, so be it. I think the more you set yourself up as being undeniably in support of Taylor, the individual, and not Taylor the Bills QB, the harder it will be when it likely doesn't work out. I'm not saying he can't improve, we all know players can flourish with multiple years in the same system, I'm just not overly confident that we'll see anything different.
  17. Well, looks like we can chalk this one up as a loss.
  18. The thread title suggests Tyrod had a spectacular day. He put 16 points up on the 4-11 Cowboys. Why is it amazing that people would dispute this? You do realize he didn't throw for 300 yards with 4 TDs out there, right? I think Tyrod played an okay game, that was pretty typical for him minus maybe a bomb or two thrown in there. We'll know by next season if he's progressed or not as a QB. I don't think you or PTR are at all justified in your worship though.
  19. He is exciting, and he has the whole offseason (his 5th) to improve on his game... but his QB Rating will be all that's quoted and remembered after this season. I am hoping we don't overpay this guy. This season did little to convince me he is worth another contract, and certainly not the big bucks, at least just yet. I don't know of many 1-read, scramble happy QB's that can win many games without a top D to mask their problems.
  20. It was the only penalty called against them all game.
  21. I think it's a combination of this, and the fact that they just stopped them at the end of the 4th quarter. Maybe he thought the D would get a quick 3-and-out and he would just need a field goal to win.
  22. NFL on ESPN (@ESPNNFL) 14 mins ago - View on Twitter "We thought that was the best thing to do." - Bill Belichick on decision to kick off in OT
  23. What are the odds that the best WR option off the street is just a crappy guy cut by Rex's former team?
