  1. Howard Stern was initially thought of in the same light...that you wouldn't be able to get sponsors for this programming. The radio station has every right to fire someone if they think they're going to lose ad money, but time has proven that they're wrong, you can always find sponsors if the voice has an audience.
  2. I really get a kick out of it when people act like Mario Williams isn't an amazing DE. This year is his outlier. It could be his fault, it could be Rex Ryan's fault - I actually don't care. He is a damn good DE. I cannot imagine a scenario where losing him will improve the roster.
  3. So you slam people for jumping to conclusions...and then immediately jump to a conclusion. Well done.
  4. The play was over-analyzed because it ended their season, I will give you that...but he didn't exactly Charlie Hustle it there, did he? Video for those interested.
  5. I just looked that up. I honestly didn't even realize they weren't still in the MAC. Allow me to amend that same verbiage to say...UMASS, where (according the write up) it only fills up 10% on gameday. As a side note, UMASS beat UB in the finale this year.
  6. UB would have to go undefeated for like 10 straight years before they could sell out an NFL sized stadium. Edit*: This post was not meant to be dismissive, you did a great job on the write up and were very thorough in your research.
  7. There is a difference between testimonial evidence and real evidence (physical evidence). It's kind of disheartening to see you bring your typical know-it-all attitude even in situations where you are a novice. It kind of taints our previous discussions to be honest. I would suggest reading up a bit on investigative/pre-interrogation justice policy before jumping in trying to explain to people that the police said McCoy did it. We don't have any additional eye witness testimony because at no point did these off-duty officers find it prudent to alert the authorities and get some actual reports going. They chose (not by accident, mind you), to wait to do it. They know full well what they're doing and if you look at enough cases this becomes shockingly transparent. This is exactly why I think the Philly PD are making a mockery of our justice system going after someone like McCoy through the media.
  8. Unless there's additional video footage in police custody or some other unknown additional evidence, it really looks like there isn't enough for an arrest to be made. My guess is McCoy gets in no legal trouble as the claim doesn't seem to hold much weight. I'm sure after its investigation, the NFL will fine/suspend McCoy and I just wish these guys would stop trying to look for trouble. I agree with the posters that find this childish and immature, and I have no tolerance for the headlines these stupid late night outings seem to make. It's hard to say that it's not your father's NFL (I'm sure Namath and others from the 70's got in their fair share of bar fights), but there is something frustrating about these guys not understanding that in this digital age, you will not get away with anything. To me, its not worth it, and it's sad that a lot of them are incapable of seeing that.
  9. Yeah, but don't judge them, you know? It's mean.
  10. That's actually a totally different opinion than your initial post.
  11. The thread title needs to be amended ASAP. Serious misinformation.
  12. Let me step in here and say that he never once said that he hates cops. There are good cops and bad cops, everyone knows and understands this. It's the profession most sensitive to criticism and it shouldn't be. Police officers are sworn to protect and serve. They are civil servants who should not attempt to influence public opinion (the people that they work for).
  13. Mods, can the thread title get changed to read: McCoy allegedly involved in bar fight with off-duty officers. [update: not named in police report] I think the thread title is very misleading for those at work who don't have time to look into this.
  14. Thank you for actually reading and looking into this. It's incredibly fishy. My gut says that because Lesean is wealthy and can afford a great lawyer they will try and pressure charges to be dropped due to a lack of evidence. No doubt that a fight occurred of some sort, who it involved is certainly not proved, and motive, as you pointed out is highly questionable at best. There is almost nothing here to suggest McCoy actually committed a crime, although the court of public opinion will likely find him guilty as hell. Edit: It's also important to note that McCoy has actually not been charged with anything, though there were reports that the Philly PD is seeking arrest warrants...
  15. They are not in the hospital, actually. They were treated and dismissed from the ER.
  16. Almost never. There have been cops that have been arrested off-duty for DUI's outside of their jurisdiction or pulled over by Sheriff's dept. For those unaware (the police report has now been somewhat reported), the actual injuries: Officer A: -laceration to his right eye -a broken nose -broken ribs -sprained thumb. Officer B: -stitches No officer suffered a fractured skull. The police report, filed by the police, cleverly mentioned treatment for a possible fractured skull just to add weight to the event.
  17. In short, the United States justice system is built on innocence until guilt is proven. As such, I'm not so inclined to find guilt in this situation (or hardly any crimes based on initial reports). Currently there's a lack of evidence, including confirmation of the alleged injuries. As more comes out, I may completely reverse my feelings, but right now I haven't seen anything that's going to make me bring out the pitchforks. I would say the same if we were talking about Tom Brady. In a he-said-she said bar brawl without video, I'm less inclined to believe the off-duty police that neglected to file a report the night of the alleged incident.
  18. Right now, we have no idea if there were actually broken skulls. America once thought that Darren Wilson was severely beaten when he in fact had a questionable (potentially self-inflicted) baby bruise. I will hold off judgement. I find it beyond questionable that no police report was filed the night of, if these officers suffered fractured skulls. I almost want to deny it as a possibility.
  19. Yeah, that would have solved everything!
  20. To be fair, what report? A police report? Care to venture what side that might take?
