  1. Brandon will be involved in the HC search. I have no idea where you came up with that bizarre hypothetical where he tells the Pegula's "no." You're dodging the massive argument here: This will be the 5th head coaching search Brandon is involved with.
  2. Maybe. I think it would be more like that time Brian Brohm started a game.
  3. No one brought him up but you, quit it.
  4. Stop trying to argue semantics with me, I don't even know what you're getting at. On this matter, this is all I have to say: Russ Brandon will be involved in the HC search. For that I am being critical. I don't have the energy for your back and forth about 1997 advertising contracts and crap that has no value to me whatsoever. I'm glad you're hopeful that Brandon will help them get it right in his 5th search. Seems like you have a lot of faith in the guy.
  5. I don't really think EJ is very good. I just also don't think he's terrible. I definitely wanted him to start more than 4 games into his 2-2 sophomore season. After putting up with 26+ games of Taylor, we're no better off than we would have been with a developed EJ. Maybe he would never have amounted to anything, but he was unnecessarily jostled within the organization. I am frustratingly ready to move on, but have even less expectations for Jones at the moment. Sadly the 2017 starting QB is not on our team.
  6. He was really smart to take a Jonathan Williams kneel to get Carpenter back on the field before half-time in Seattle. That was about the only time I can remember defending him.
  7. I've seen a lot of measured responses on the matter, but it's always the, "he's the worst" guys that seem crazy to me. Explain again just how bad EJ was, I'm all ears.
  8. Yeah but you're living in fantasy land. He's not going to relinquish any power and will continue to be involved with football decisions. I don't think this thread would exist at all if it was clear Brandon is simply a business side-of-things guy.
  9. I've been fairly critical of Gilmore during games but it's mostly because of his general demeanor and his lack of ball play chasing down throws over his head. He's actually been pretty alright, I just don't think he deserves top money. He's deifnitely not as bad as people make him out to be, it's just incredibly easy to notice him because he has such a hard time tracking the ball on deep throws.
  10. Prove it. Edit: Also...I said Brandon would be involved. Don't put words into my mouth. Sorry if I misinterpreted your posts. It seemed to read that you were in favor of Brandon moving forward with his current role, which has also included making sure Rex Ryan doesn't leave the building during the previous HC search.
  11. I would leave even if just for a true no. 2 spot if I were him. He got screwed by this franchise.
  12. To those at the game...was there any notable booing?
  13. The same? Edit: ...but with a little more passing yards?
  14. 100%. If the goal is to truly develop Cardale, please do not play him or his fate will be the same!
  15. How so? You think we should hire a new HC but have no problem letting Brandon (a guy who's been running or heavily involved in the last 4 HC searches) stick around to hire him. Also, you want AJ McCarron? What? He would be our QB3 if he were on our team right now. Get out of here with this crap.
  16. I don't think there's a lot of Whaley blame for his ability to scout and get talent. It's just that there are other aspects to a GM's role that include winning consistently that he is having the most trouble with.
  17. He got 4 starts into his second year at a 2-2 record and was prematurely pulled by a megalomaniac head coach. It certainly was a shot, I'll give you that, but it wasn't nearly as bad as you're making it out to be. And we do know that EJ > Cardale, come on buddy don't be ridiculous.
  18. This is incredibly sensible. I think the only argument might be once you start toying with you first point, it becomes a bit meddling for ownership to dictate who starts and who doesn't. I'd rather not force EJ to start but to see what Rex does come Monday. If he incorrectly sticks with Tyrod, he gets the axe. In Rex's press conference he didn't say for sure Tyrod would start. Also, as of today, EJ is better than Cardale across the board. I really want to see Cardale succeed with us, but I definitely don't want to throw him to the wolves. He's not ready and it could be very bad for his confidence to get action before he's ready. Exactly.
  19. 100% agree. I'm not sure Whaley's top HC choice would have been Rex. For that I fault him for his lack of backbone, but only a little. If he supports Rex (who apparently gets to draft players...?), he has to go too.
  20. The next head coach search will be Russ Brandon's 5th.
  21. I don't get it, man. You're basically saying, "we'll see what happens" as if it hasn't been 17 years of the exact same. You're expecting different results for some reason. You're also giving them a pass on the lack of QB like it's some mythical creature. Rare as it may be, it's not once every 30 seasons rare.
  22. Agreed. I think it's somewhere along these lines: 0.1% he's fired before season's end 0% if we finish 10-6 0% if we finish 9-7 1.5% if we finish 8-8 3% if we finish 7-9 15% if we finish 6-10. might be a little higher depending on how the Browns game goes.
  23. Yeah, so why blame the receivers? When your QB is too timid to step up in the pocket and let her rip how do you expect to any receiver to have a good year statistically?
  24. We've been on a downward trend since the loss to New England: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NFL/AFC/AFCEast/Buffalo_ChanceWillMakePlayoffs.html
  25. That was most certainly a joke... he's bad at press conferences, thought it was funny to put it in the "Cons" column.
