  1. How do you have access to the clause? Do you have access to the full contract?
  2. 0% chance that we would have contributed less than Reggie Bush thia year. That move has Rex written all over it.
  3. Why is it that everyone always thinks these would-be head coaches, with all their infinite egos, are going to be picky at all? These guys want a head coaching job. They're not going to turn it down because of a schedule, that's ridiculous.
  4. Would Coughlin would have punted on 4th and 2 in OT? I'm not sure that he wouldn't.
  5. What a great, insightful post. You've convinced me he is a legitimate candidate, and I am open to hearing more about Kyle. Aside from the issues in Washington and Cleveland, anyone have a list of cons with his offense?
  6. Also - it's so easy for a Pats fan to chime in, they have the longest tenured coach in the league. It's been 17 years since you even had to think about what is needed in a head coaching candidate. Of course in a perfect world you want 3 years for your head coach at a minimum. You also need to make sure that the coach, the players already on the roster, and the GM are all on the same page about what type of team to build. Rex was never the right fit.
  7. If Rex got another full year to fully install "his team" and system we would be much further behind than we are today. All the coaches are his cronies. The drafts were clogged up with picks for his system. You need a coach that doesn't need players to fit a specific role, but rather a coach that can just adjust to the players on the roster.
  8. Maybe in LBRBR (Life Before Reggie Bush Reverse).
  9. I will be shocked and impressed if it somehow comes out that Whaley actually led the search alone. There's no doubt in my mind that Russ Brandon has been all over the last two hires, and I see no reason to think he'll just keep his opinion out of this search. In a perfect world, Whaley completes the search with his top 3 or so candidates (maybe more, not sure how this works), conducts his interviews, and doesn't have to pitch them to Brandon or Pegula until he's fairly certain who is guy is. In this perfect world he gets to conduct all the interviews alone, and only until he's made his decision, do Brandon, Pegula, etc. get to sit in on the final interview. That would be the only real way that Whaley would be able to concretely say that he got his man.
  10. "Yeah but you can't discredit garbage time because then you'd have to discredit everyone's garbage time"... /s
  11. A ringing endorsement if I've ever heard one.
  12. For some reason I thought it was 1st and 2nd rounders, that makes sense thanks! All this nonsense and drivel adds up to a classic damned if you do, damned if you don't. You're basically saying that EJ is garbage, but you won't care if he does well in an NFL game. I'm sure you weren't one of the ones jumping to conclusions after Tyrod beat up the Browns at home though, right? No way there's a double standard there, is there?
  13. Ah yes, back to our "Hey at least we're not Cleveland" mantra. I'm pretty sure psychologically the reason I left Buffalo is because it collectively holds the world's most pathetic inferiority complex. That and a wild obsession over national media exposure.
  14. I think you have to exercise that before the start of the season. We decided not to do that with both EJ and Woods.
  15. Let me get this straight... you think EJ is terrible, but you also expect him to "light it up"? Can you explain that one, I'm not sure I follow...
  16. Another source sighting! I love this source! He's blunt and to the point and definitely not Russ Brandon! Edit: This is sarcasm.
  17. EJ was definitely screwed here.
  18. Shhhhh...the excuse flood gate is wide open. Don't you understand? EJ is terrible (was 2-2 when pulled), and Tyrod is fantastic but had no help (was 7-8 when "pulled").
  19. This is probably the correct take. Tyrod can appear, especially on paper, to be a very average QB. He is a super athlete which can help him trend upwards in many situations, but he's been virtually incapable of rising when the going gets tough. I think overall he is a very flawed QB that could be hidden well on a great team. He does enough and is safe to the point where you can never outright blame him for losses. He just never does enough to take credit for the wins either. I think the Broncos would have made the playoffs with Tyrod, but I also think the Browns would still only have one win with him.
  20. And with this short prompt, the excuse flood gate has been opened!
  21. Anthony Lynn had a heck of a promotion this year.
  22. One of the worst arguments in a salary cap era that a sports fan could make.
  23. This thread has made me reassess my opinion of Tyrod morr than anything he has done on the field. MAJBobby, you've been blocked.
