Offensive Coordinator candidates
fridge replied to Wayne Arnold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How funny would it be if David Lee was retained. -
Kelly Skipper Named Bills' RB Coach
fridge replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't really think this is a big deal and it's nearly impossible to judge the work of positional coaches unless their units take a step backward. I do think it's weird that we're hiring all these offensive guys without an OC. I'm also underwhelmed by all the names being thrown around. With McDermott being a defense guy I really hope he doesn't have the same problem that Gailey had (unable to scout or find the right coaches for the opposite side of the ball). -
Childress & Olson Both Reported as Out for Bills' OC
fridge replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. I will say though that any Bills fan has/had a right to be miffed that our alleged top OC candidates were Olson and Childress. Not exactly the Don Shulas of the world. -
I would love this, but sadly he's retired.

Kyle Posey: Debunking the Tyrod Taylor Myth
fridge replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, we lost that game. The best game a QB has played there in 6 seasons was a loss? GTFO. They've lost 10 times at home in the last six years by the way. -

He caught that many? If the over/under was 2, I'm taking the under. -
Analyst rates Tyrod ahead of Cousins
fridge replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before this gets out of hand...those stats are completely made up. The Bills had 14 dropped passes this year, the Redskins 11. Making the argument that Taylor is better than Cousins is very difficult as it is, but using phantom yards as the reason is absolutely ridiculous. And maybe if our QB threw it into the endzone once in four consecutive attempts in Seattle or didn't go three-and-out the whole fourth quarter in Oakland and Miami we would be 10-6? -
Kyle Posey: Debunking the Tyrod Taylor Myth
fridge replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think he's going to develop at all. It is possible that a different playbook could make a difference and give him better route trees to work with. The problem with hitting receivers in stride appears to be a rock solid flaw in his game though, and I don't think that's something you just pickup in your sixth offseason or whatever it is. -
Will Marrone Stiff Jags Like He Did Bills, 'Cuse??
fridge replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One, I don't know why I was expecting him to have a better grasp of the English language. One, I love that his reason was simply because obviously he staying here and is with people he loves. -
Kyle Posey: Debunking the Tyrod Taylor Myth

I'm not disputing anything. I'm just getting tired of the, "it's always the same people...they just want to be right argument." I just want the team to be successful and make the playoffs more than I care about anything else. If by some miracle Taylor starts playing some clutch football late in games then I would shut my mouth immediately, eat crow or whatever, and happily enjoy his play. I said it goes both ways because the two extremes, The Honorable St. John from Hemet of Troy and Colonial Major Bobby don't really reflect their common desire, to see the Bills win the Superbowl. It gets annoying reading that people think there's a negative group that just wants to be right. I think after 17 years we're just getting cranky and have stopped buying into the hype. If Taylor was superman like a lot of you think, he would've carried the team in a few of their closer games and maybe we'd be in the playoffs right now. His disappearing act in Oakland and his 3-and-out parade in Miami seem to be long forgotten by most here. It goes both ways. -

I don't understand your point at all. His floor is RGIII's rookie season? How did that work out for RGIII? -

It goes both ways, brother. Criticism of Taylor is not unwarranted, despite your personal opinion. -
Mike McCoy interviewing with Denver today

Jesus, no. The OC at a .500 Syracuse team is not what I'm talking about. -
Yep. For me, this is great news!

Wow. Head Coach bares no responsibility, but QB coach does. You live in a weird world sometimes. -

Mike McCoy interviewing with Denver today
fridge replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The above carefully omits that he went to the playoffs once in four years with Philip Rivers as his QB. He's hardly a QB whisperer. No idea why we need to pretend he's not a complete crap-shoot of an OC. You can't cherry picking a couple of above average seasons and act like he'll do that (one of them, mind you, is being a QB coach...), and that he won't field an offense like his past two seasons. -
Bills Hire Sean McDermott as New Head Coach
fridge replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, I get it. He definitely had some runs in the last few years. I'm trying to stay positive, it's just that I don't know a lot about the guy, and reading through a lot of his history I see as many causes for concern as I do highlights. I don't hate the move, and it's probably the least opinionated I've felt about a HC in the last 5 or 6 (HA!). Was he a hot candidate last year? It sort of feels like we're hiring him with the whole, "this past season never happened, but..." mentality - something I'm not a huge fan of, to be honest. -

Okay...I'm not trying to pick you apart, but these aren't exactly amazing resume bullet points for this guy. 1. Coaching Kyle Orton's best year should not be the top highlight of any potential OC. 2. That offense was...well, I remember the Bills picking Tebow off 4 times in the first half once...let's just say it was fluky at best. I'm not sure how brilliantly he "customized his offense," but rather they ran a ton of college plays to help Tebow out. 3. Yeah, I'm aware he was the QB coach of a team that went to and lost the superbowl, but I mean, really...that's reaching isn't it. That was almost 15 years ago now. Great, more excuses. I realize you can't just grab a guy with a ton of highlights off the street, but I was hoping for and would lean towards some fresh faces. These loser retreads are getting old. -
Bills Hire Sean McDermott as New Head Coach

So he fielded a worse defense than Rex did last year... That's wonderful. -
Mike McCoy interviewing with Denver today
fridge replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can anyone explain why McCoy would be a good OC? I'm really skeptical on this one. What has he really done? He was a complete failure as a head coach and his offense in Denver wasn't exactly memorable (definitely not in the passing game)... so what is it that we see here that would make people upset that he's going to Denver? -
Norv Turner (no longer) a possibility at OC per Mike Silver
fridge replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I honestly feel like I'm living in a dreamworld. The McDermott hire is what it is. It's not the guy that I wanted, but I see why he was hired. Norv Turner and Mike McCoy as potential OC candidates though...is this for real? Can anyone explain to me why I should even be remotely excited for these coaches that I distinctly remember as being complete and utter failures? -
