White House Correspondents Dinner
fridge replied to Keukasmallie's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
There’s definitely something to what you’re saying. I do think that it is the number one story on Fox News is pathetic. She was a comedian. She was trying to be funny because it is her job. Trump has every right to make similarly mean-spirited comments, but he’s going to be held under a different scrutiny because he’s the President, and it’s not always the correspondence dinner. Sometimes he’s representing our entire nation. Unlike the current First Lady, I have no evidence to prove otherwise. -

What’s your stance on political correctness? -

Hahaha is she not? I never really thought about it. Is it her hair? -

Ok, fine. Make fun of Michelle Obama’s looks and try to be funny about it. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, but making fun of someone’s looks when they’re completely normal looking doesn’t make a lot of sense for a joke, does it? -

I’m sure if she looked like Sarah Huckabee Sanders there would be plenty of jokes about her, come on man. -

The left wants to violate free speech with impunity... by saying whatever they want? I thought you hated them for political correctness. Now they are saying too much? Which is it? You can’t make fun of Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ looks? I thought the right were supposed to be tougher than that! -

Don’t think her jokes were funny? Then ignore her. God it’s painfully ironic when the right is this thin skinned. -
WGR Hosts Scared Of On-Air Confrontation

I actually think Sal, while a hard worker, seems like an incredibly simple-minded person. I don’t think of him as a great thinker, and he normally says the most obvious thing. Beane seems intelligent. I like the way he slows down the conversation and appears to have a grasp on the different challenges the team faces, rather than ignore them like previous GMs. I don’t love the Allen pick, but I understand what he’s trying to do. McDermott seems predictable, and is probably great pals with someone like Sal. -
RD 4, Pick 121: Taron Johnson DB - Weber State

We can’t just draft your regular no-name DB. Ours has to be the guy who gets blasted in the cranium running a simple combine drill. -

This thread would be a lot more fun if we kept our 2’s. -
These guys earned benefit of the doubt

They literally have not. We had a season like several others over the last 20 years, but made the playoffs because of an absolutely insane once-in-a-lifetime pass by Andy Dalton. Also, learn to separate politics from football. Your generation keeps trying to bleed your political opinion into sports and it’s mind numbingly annoying. I don’t root for the Bills to listen to your caveman ideologies. -
This kid has everything you want in a QB

It’s really depressing to me that our 7th overall’s best tape is some footage at an exhibition game and in shorts. Josh Rosen was looking like Aaron Rodgers several times last season in big games against real talent. -
Wondering how much Roethlesberger they see in Allen
fridge replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you. It does a disservice to the MAC to compare it to the Mountain West. I was grasped by at straws trying to compare him to Big Ben. -

Big Ben was great in college though. They both played in terrible conferences, but the comparison stops there. -

To be fair, “the guys who do this for a living” have been god awful for the last 20 years. -
Nothing. This is all fake news. I’m getting sick of the character assasination being brought over from our current politics.

Thats not a real quote. You’re everything that’s wrong with our society today. Listen more, learn, and talk less.

Mike Schoop Takes Aim at The McCarron/Peterman Crowd
fridge replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t see how this is an issue at all. If we draft a QB and McCarron starts, that should mean he beat out the rookie in camp, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If he’s saying fans don’t want to draft a QB because we have McCarron, we’ll then yeah - they’re insane and not worthy of a blog article on a local radio show website, or even a message board post. -
Who cares? Thread policing is pointless. It's a message board, not a sacred text. The discussions that people are most interested in will always have the most engagement, regardless of your opinion. I don't like the rumor threads at all, but if the majority of the people do, then let them discuss it. I don't have an issue with your thread either, it's just that you are often the one to call people out for discussing something that you find uninteresting, so let us have our fun when you start a topic on a random lineman for the giants. I'm sure you can see the hypocrisy there, no?

This is my ideal draft scenario. Oh the years of intercepting Josh Allen will be so much fun. -

Thanks for reminding me about Russ Brandon. I was in a good mood this morning.
