  1. Very nice--thanks for putting together. Somewhat makes me understand why the FO did this. Seemed like a bizarre stab in the dark. What did you use for the graphic by the way?
  2. And now I know. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inland_Northern_American_English FWIW, when I think Midwestern, I don't think Michigan, et all. I think Indiana or Kansas. When I lived in Utica, they didn't sound anything like WNYers.
  3. My favorite comment: "Very few Bills fans that go to games actually live in Buffalo. They are either rich !@#$s who live in distant, fancy suburbs, or completely embarrassing hicks. All get absolutely shitfaced. If there is a night game (very rare), half the stadium will be black-out drunk by kickoff. Fights and vomit are guaranteed, as is an embarrassing defeat through either last minute meltdown or immediate blowout. Those are the two options." Funny article. Detroit's is funny, too. Yep, it always seems as if we blow primetime games with either a blowout or last second meltdown....Don't think Buffalonians sound like Midwesterners though. I love the WNY accent--can spot it immediately.
  4. Question: These guys, like TO, who sign one year contracts and are cut during preseason--do they get paid anything? If so, what?
  5. Hard Knocks Miami has been a very well-produced show. I feel that it is actually how it is--an honest assessment of the Dolphins' training camp. Great story lines, tight editing, immensely watchable. Don't know quite what the naysayers are looking for. Can't believe I picked the Dolphins for my Fantasy D. This trade just makes it worse...but great for my real team. Someone picked the Bills and two other teams I was gunning for, and the Dolphins just kind of came out. Blah.
  6. Yikes. Vince Young looks terrible.
  7. I personally have no problem with the NFL, or any other private sports organization, banning them. It's an unfair advantage and research shows they're damaging to bodies over the long-term. I have a huge problem when Congress puts on a pony show, grilling sports people for public spectacle. Also have no problem with them being decriminalized. What you decide to put in your own body should be your personal choice, period.
  8. I actually saw him drop a clipboard last season.
  9. He actually has quite a gift for getting yards. He also has a fun-to-watch ability to be deceptively fast. I just looked at a highlight reel--he's elusive. Maybe he just hasn't been used effectively for the Bills. Seems to me he's simply a Swiss Army knife--WR, HB, KR--and not a backup QB. I'm inclined to wait and see what he delivers next season. Chan on Brad: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-mini-camps/09000d5d829de44e/The-Bills-the-Wildcat-and-Brad-Smith Jets highlight reel: (several against the Bills).
  10. We used Smith very effectively as a third-down direct-snap running back in the first few weeks. But the guy, from what I've seen--I hope I'm wrong--can't throw. So, if he's going to run 90 percent of the time, it seems pretty useless to keep him as a QB, because defenses will be prepared for it. This whole Brad Smith thing is weird. He's a ruse--a threat of a threat, like Lee Evans. People respected Evans, who never really caught that many deep balls because we haven't had a QB who could effectively get it there. Will defenses respect a guy who throws (poorly) once every 10 plays?
  11. I love how a topic on, say, I don't know, soda bans turns into a discussion on a guy who thinks pregnancies can be prevented in rape. Message boards are weird places. Probably why I love em.
  12. Best line I heard on that was Dennis Miller: "Akin is akin to a kin breeding with a kin."
  13. Hey all, thought you'd enjoy this. A sketch on Dr. Pepper's and Dr. Thunder's views on the large soda ban in NYC. Feedback greatly appreciated. Cheers.
  14. Nick Foles will be 2nd string. Guy looks great. I wish Edwards success.
  15. What does Fitzgibbons have to say about this nonsense?
  16. For real? Second best No. 2 maybe. And that might be pushing it.
  17. What I find interesting is that nearly everyone on this board appears so surprised, yet James Welker of ESPN said "The move isn't a surprise." I love it when reporters and pundits have 20/20 hindsight about foresight they never made public. Color this fan very surprised--all indicators were up for Merriman to have a successful season and I heard nothing from the coaches to indicate otherwise.
  18. Can you do something about the guy with the avatar of the 500 pound female Roethlisberger fan while your at it? J/k. But yeah, it is gross.
  19. Also feel bad. Guy has a great attitude, and seemed to work hard. Have to somewhat disagree with the one poster, though--Jasper looked lost last game on the plays I noticed, which, admittedly, were not all of them. Hope he finds a home in the NFL.
  20. I have an inside source at the Canadian border who said Aaron Maybin had a baseball bat in his car. If I'm wrong, may Tom Brady*'s Chihuahua have irritable bowel syndrome.
  21. Sorry, his wife looks like a golddigging hobag. Who headbuts people...let alone their wives...in cars? "Honey, why did you buy these condoms?" Headbut. Reserving judgment until more facts come out. ...He was seriously considering a career in porn? And he kept his condom receipt? Was he planning on returning them? Whole story is too bizarre. Between the drama in Miami and New Jersey, and our own improvements, this could be the year we finally pass that hump.
  22. Yep, horrible. Looks like they're wearing polo shirts underneath.
  23. Sig1Hunter, per your part about the list not necessarily being in that order, if the naked women came after being jailed, I'm afraid to tell you those weren't women.
  24. With ya 100 percent. We have so many laws governing so many facets of our lives, it's nearly impossible not to break the law on a daily basis. When I was in the Air Force, I couldn't drink legally for the first two years of my four year commitment. Every one I knew, however, did, and kids still got busted for it, even though everyone knew that everyone did it. If that's not insane, don't know what is. Yet, you can die for your country, get the death penalty, be tried as an adult, drive, vote, and yada yada yada. As for the Ralph, talk about a waste of resources. It's check the box policing. Absurd law. When you treat people like children they act like children. In many European countries, where kids drink with their parents openly, they don't have the same attitudes. This is what happens when a government treats its citizenry like kids. The law needs to change.
