  1. Gugny's point (I believe) is that both Kelly and Romo played for GM's who were good at assembling a team and hiring qualified coaches, personnel, etc. Romo and his fanboys have been to the playoffs...have we?
  2. We don't know what his reads are??? Seriously?? My labrador retriever has better vision than TT. Week after week I watch Ryan, Brady, Rivers and Breese throw to a spot and their receiver comes out of their break and the ball is there. Not so with TT...he waits until after the break to make sure the WR is wide open before letting go of the ball. He's worried about turning the ball over (maybe for salary incentives?) This delay in throwing the ball then converts into jittery feet, pressure and scrambling. Your word is "unconventional" I believe...I call it "unsustainable".
  3. Johnny - if you choose to wallow in mediocrity with Thurmanator, that's your choice. As for me and the other 98.5 percent of Bills fans, we'll wait for our front office to get "lucky".
  4. Timing patterns are reserved for Tyrod's 6th season as Bills' QB. Right now they are just asking him to WAIT for a receiver to run open. It's Little Loop football with a twist.
  5. There's a whole lot of sour grapes in this thread. I know it hurts to say it, but JJ is (indeed) the better GM. I love the Bills, but the truth hurts.
  6. Drafting a stud o-lineman in Round 1 for a few years is the smart move...not lucky. Drafting a WR and mortgaging our future in a deep WR class was a questionable move...or was Whaley "unlucky"??
  7. Damn...thanks for those stats. I knew they were similar but those numbers make them out to be twins.
  8. Tuel was never given a real chance...he won that Chiefs game but for one stupid play. He was a gunslinger. Like Orton.
  9. Better than RJ, Trent, Thad and Matt Cassel, yes. Bledsoe, Orton, Tuel and EJ...not so much.
  10. I agree with this. It's like watching your vegetable garden grow...it starts out very slow and, if there is the proper amount of nurturing, rain, sunlight and warmth, you see rapid development. In our case, Taylor's growth has been stunted by a drought, darkness and possibly bad seeds. Let's hope we have more cooperative growing conditions for the balance of the season.
  11. Are you saying Jerry Jones would look hot in a dress??
  12. No one is saying they know more about the X's and O's of the game more than our coaches (with the exception of a very few on this board who can spout off schemes, coverages, etc.), but I will say this: many of us here were spot on with the evaluation of certain players like Maybin, Fitz, TJ Graham, EJ and others well before they were released or demoted by the team. The guys who draft/acquire these players never want to be criticized or held accountable. That's the beauty of this board...it's a system of checks and balances. So when we now talk about Tyrod having limitations, it hurts me to think we still haven't found our QB for years...but reality is setting in. Even if he beats the Jags and throws for 200 yds (a huuuge game for him), I will still have this opinion. We were supposed to see big strides in his game this year according to Whaley and Rex...we have seen two strides forward and 1 1/2 strides back.
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the GM charged with the duty to assemble a supporting cast of talent evaluators to not only prioritize players but to make recommendations on who should be drafted and/or signed as FA's?? It seems JJ has done just that...unlike our beloved team.
  14. and Hover Round...and Geritol...and Depends.
  15. Whether he's picking on his own accord or deferring to the advice of others, he's still the GM. And this team he assembled is strong...more so than what we are watching week to week. Jerry wins. Doug loses.
  16. I don't doubt it. The guy has built a strong, young, talented team. Yes...they do. Some players play tough...others, have a tough time playing.
  17. Sammy is not similar to Dez...Not by a long shot.
  18. Uhhhhhhhh, is there any question???
  19. I had this same issue back in '86. I was in a tee pee in the Mojave...or was it the Tusceegee Swamps. Either way, there was a drwarf named Julius who followed me around...you see, I was a CutCo Cutlery Salesman and had a tough time making sales. There was a huge teepee with several hundred rooms on 5 floors and Julius followed me from room to room asking if I was hungry. I finally told him "Sure, what do you have?" Julius reached into his old patchwork sack and pulled out a crock of lamb stew with a hard, crusty baguette. Well it took us several hours to heat up the stew, the clay pot was cold and Julius had a bunson burner that fell low on fuel. The old cherry tree near the native settlement offered heat with broken limbs that Julius quickly turned into kindling. Once it was warmed, Julius served me a warm plate of stew and baguette. We ventured further into the teepee and I think it was similar to what you are experiencing. Scary but invigorating.
  20. Any updates on this?
  21. I think it's rather coldhearted to designate Sammy to return but then have to wait (hope) for another player to get injured to take his spot on IR. What kind of league allows this to happen?
