Waking light, it grew from the shadow Brace yourself to the morning low Night is gone, long way turning You've waited long enough to know When the memory leaves you Somewhere you can't make it home When the morning comes to meet you Lay me down in waking light No one sees you here, roots are all covered There's such a life to go and how much can you show? Day is gone on a landslide of rhythm It's in your lamplight burning low When the memory leaves you Somewhere you can't make it home When the morning comes to meet you Rest your eyes in waking light When the memory leaves you Somewhere you can't make it home When the morning comes to meet you Open your eyes with waking light

Thank you @qwksilver . Indeed, this whole experience has been a mind#### on every level. And I definitely get the value of not rushing to quick change. I will admit to a good many days and nights of just wanting to run, run to anywhere that I don't have to deal with it. And even now, I admit to having feet of clay regarding the decision to make this change. But I am starting to arrive at a point where I feel considerably more clearheaded than I did initially. I don't know where the line in the sand is for me, in terms of trusting what I see and feel, but I do know that I sense clarity returning. After growing up in the Southern Tier, I lived in WNY for much of my life. I would leave for a few years on many occasions only to return. After about 8 years back in the area, I left Tonawanda in 2015, ironically after moving there from a couple of years in Florida. When I left Tonawanda, it was to get married. So here I am realizing that so much of life in Florida has been as either a relative newlywed, and then suddenly as a care giver after some shi**y medical surprises changed everything. So now, most of my memories here are those that I both treasure and hurt when thinking of. I know that pain will continue to fade. My decision now is answering the question of where I choose to rebuild my life. After months of introspection, I have arrived at a place where I want move forward and leave those memories behind, of course with a grateful place for them in my heart. It just feels like time to come home. I am now retired and I laugh when I think about swimming against what seems like the natural current, retiring "from Florida to Buffalo". Out of order as that sounds, and all things considered, it feels like a healthier, happier place for me.

Thank you for the kind thoughts and suggestions Augie. Sarasota is in fact where I am now, and looking to sell. I get mixed signals from realtors here and of course, the on line buyer sharks out there want to steal the property. But I'm comfortable in the ability to sell a 5 year old home at a fair price. RE: Hamburg, Orchard Park etc... I have previously dismissed southtowns immediately due to more lake effect there, but am revisiting those assumptions. It does seem there is good value in some areas outside of the northtowns. Lancaster seems to be jumping out at me in some of the online listings that I have looked at. Can anybody out there offer any feedback on that area?

Just throwing this out in to the wind to see what feedback comes back. After becoming a widow earlier this spring, I'm now starting to step away from the pain that experience naturally brings, and I'm facing up with the reality that life alone in Florida just isn't the experience I'm looking for in my remaining years. I am about 80% of my way to the decision to move back to Buffalo and I will be traveling to Buffalo this week to explore some housing options. I'm hoping for some feedback on some good parts of town to look. In my earlier Buffalo life, lived in Town of Tonawanda and always liked it there. I still have interest in my old house there and have considered renovating it. Still, I think about how the housing stock in that area has continued to age and am not sure how to feel about that. When I consider alternatives in the area, my knee jerk reaction is that it would be fun to live in one of the new downtown lofts and be closer to Sabre games, concerts etc... but then reality sets in. I am a man in my 60's, sober for decades and not sure that I belong wondering around downtown at night on a regular basis. So there it is, I am not looking for the Elmwood Strip, every night a party experience at this point in my life, just a nice decent area to live with decent middle of the road housing cost (probably just a tad below the Clarence price points) close to shopping and restaurants and within easy striking range of downtown. Any and all feedback would be so welcome.

Actually, if it hasn't already been noted, Ernie suffered a severe knee injury in his second year in Buffalo which destroyed his effectiveness. Not sure when the leukemia came into play, but I do believe that was farther down the road. "DiGregorio only played 31 games in the 1974-75 season because of severe knee injuries, a 50 game drop from his 1973-74 campaign. Despite this, Bob McAdoo won the MVP while averaging 34.5 PPG and 14.1 REB. The Braves' record jumped up seven wins from their previous season, and they made the playoffs again. However, they were bounced in the first round. Ernie's numbers dropped across the board in this season, with his PPG being nearly cut in half to 7.8 and his assist numbers falling to 4.9 per game. In the next season, his numbers stayed around the same, except for the fact that Ernie managed to play 67 games in that season. Then in the 1976-77 season, he played 81 games and reclaimed his free throw title, making 94.5% of his shots at the charity stripe that year. But still, his other stats were lackluster when compared to his rookie numbers. His PPG was at 10.7 in this '77 season, with his assists being just as average at a 4.7 mark." https://aminoapps.com/c/nba/page/blog/ernie-digregorio-the-unknown-what-if-of-the-1970s/j064_1QQcKu8lrJoaK76bkpe8aoMWbLY5rb

The Best “One Year Wonders” in Bills History
cwater10 replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
In terms of impact on the Bills, Ahmad Rashad. One great year in '74, then injured an on to greener pastures in Minnesota. -
I love this! Never connected those dots on my own before, but absolutely on the money!

Where's little dirty?

How about they just wear Bills uniforms? They're great as is.

Sidd Finch 2.0?

Great list! But I have to speak up for one of my all time favorite unsung Bills heroes. Wasn't it Bill Simpson, who was literally signed out of the stands to replace an injured Jeff Nixon the previous season, that saved the game vs Jets? I think he had 2 pics on the day... Still angry about JoJo. Worst basketball call ever!

The Super Bowl runs of the 90's were what I THOUGHT I had spent the early decades of my life waiting for while cheering the Bills through some tough years and then some almost glory years. I started watching in the mid late 60's and the Bills became hard wired into my DNA by 1972 when Saban came back to town. With the "new stadium" 1.0 in 1973 and OJ's 2003 yard oddysey, I believed being a Bills fan was living the good life. And then of course, it wasn't any more, but still loved me some Bills. The Chuck Knox years were some of my favorite, maybe still my favorite years. By the time the 90's Super Bowl runs started, I was on into my 30's and the guys I had season tickets with had been joking for years that we would probably have to rattle the sides of our wheelchairs by the time we ever got to see The Bills play in a Super Bowl. And then it happened... habitually? Those years were great. We thought it was our moment. And it wasn't to be, but I was long hooked by then. The drought never pushed me away. And it couldn't have even if it was still a thing. So now here comes this kind of shocking wave of success in recent years. It kind of feels like playing with house money. 4 years into the Allen era, I would say this is likely the most entertaining, fun and likable team of all. My house really is now full of wheelchairs, lol. Hoping me and my old season ticket buddies were visionaries. I want to rattle that wheelchair THIS year and then a few more times just because. We all deserve a few bonus rounds.

The Buffalo Bills are the best team in the NFL
cwater10 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
So if I understand, you are saying that a secondary that boasts the best Safety tandem in the league with 1st team All Pro FS, and a perennial All Pro and Pro Bowl corner scheduled to return about opening day is second rate? I'm betting that there are more than a few so called "1st rate secondaries" that would trade places with that personnel in a heartbeat. Yes, as of March 27, one month before the draft, we do need a complimentary corner and some depth, but calling this secondary 2nd rate is pure hyperbolic panic. -
So sad to learn this. RIP John

Exactly this. This week has been so exhilarating, something feels kind of off. So this morning, driving past that neighbor who is out working on his lawn, you know the one that always has the most beautiful lawn on the block and makes me feel lazy and not special at all... I impulsively threw a ***** right at his feet on that beautiful lawn. Felt balanced immediately... Thanks for the inspiration TSW. Go Bills!
