McDermott is on his second OC and STC going into his fourth season. In addition, most of the position coaches have turned over. Further, McD himself is still learning how to be a HC. Is he really the best person to determine who will be a good coach?

This has nothing to do with potentially extending McD and Beane, at least not from what Terry spoke of in the video clip contained in the article. The article author mentioned it, but that is an aside to the financial struggles many oil and natural gas companies are having at this moment. Terry seems to be more concerned with the possibility of having no fans in the stadiums than he is about his O+G businesses, which are debt free (good for him).

What does 'E' stand for...Egnant? I never got an F in college, though the people who did either a) deserved it (you have to try to get an F), or b) should be fortunate they did since that would direct them toward an area of study that is more suited toward their innate skills. Not being cruel, but failure in college is better than failure in the real world.

This guy is making a big to-do out of literally nothing. Four minutes out of my life that I won't get back from watching this.

I'll mention it again in this thread, don't play the NA anything before or during the game. Take that stage away from those looking to make a social statement, which will end up hurting revenue since a number of fans will not want to attend and/or watch on tv.

I don't think the league has a choice at this point. If I was an owner, I would rather the "super patriots" be upset that the NA is not being played than give a stage to players making a social statement and p.o. more people who will stop attending the games and/or watching on tv.

Just don't play the NA before the game is what I would push for if I were the owners. Takes that stage away from those that want to kneel.

I keep wondering if there was something about Shaq they didn't like or trust, or if he was among the last remnants of the old regime, with Hughes being the other but they know he's done after this year. And for some reason, they really like Murphy.

Trust me, I have no problem with letting Murphy go, I think that would be preferable. The problem is McDermott and Frazier don't see it that way. I agree that the roster is getting there, though the d-line will need to be addressed again next year with a few players on short term contracts as well as turning 32-33 years old, who are mostly stop gaps. Addison is one of them; I don't get letting Shaq go and bringing in a 32 year old DE, but he's an ex Panther so.... The o-line might also need to have a couple of spots addressed - RT, RG, LG - depending on how this year plays out.

They probably will not because there is more resources tied up on the defensive line than any other position group on the team. I would suspect Beane is done with the d-line for this year.

Miami hired Chan as OC, which works well with Fitz. Miami could be a decent team this year with Fitz and Gailey....I'll reiterate could be. Is Chan the right guy to work with a rookie, even though Tua is not considered a project? I don't think Miami needs to rush Tua on to the field starting game 1; they have the luxury of time and can bring Tua along slowly like Favre/Rodgers.
