  1. That was great, seeing them all miserable. My favorite part was hearing the guy with the Gronk 87 shirt saying "eff you refs"; dimwit doesn't seem to understand that the refs got the Pats to the game.
  2. Revelstoke, British Columbia Canada in a couple of days to do some skiing and snowboarding. Probably Hilton Head, SC this spring to visit the folks and play some golf. Not sure after that.
  3. The Eagles probably think they'll make another run at the SB and Foles is a great insurance policy. I heard on SiriusXM's "Moving The Chains" that the combined price of Foles and Wentz is $14M, which is very cheap for two QBs of that caliber. Philly may think this outweighs trading Foles and risk him leaving in FA after next season.
  4. True, pretty much all teams have positions to upgrade and holes to fill, but the Eagles secondary was the glaring weakness. Brady had what, 505 passing yards and the Pats never punted once. I know it's Brady this is what he does, but still 500+ passing yards?
  5. How many Pats 'fans' know who Ben Coates is? I'll bet not many since he precedes the Brady era.
  6. I'd argue that the Eagles still are not done with the defensive secondary.
  7. Try looking around and reading. Works wonders.
  8. I have to support Belichick on the decision, and I cant believe I'm doing so. Missing a team flight, skipping a meeting, getting caught with pot. Yeah, that should all be worthy of being benched.
  9. I concur. I wasn't aware that Butler was this big of a problem.
  10. I get where you're coming from and agree; offenses need to put up points. As Bills fans, we know this all too well. But the defense needs to be able to stop high powered offenses like the Pats. The 2008 SB was won on the strength of the Giants defense - they held the seemingly invincible Pats to < 20 points. Eli Manning was good enough to win, but the offense wasn't the strength of that team. The 2015 Broncos beat the Pats in the AFCC off the strength of the defense. Peyton Manning and the offense was good enough, even under Dennison's system where Peyton regessed, to win. This just happened to be a SB where the Eagles offense was better than the Pats offense, with neither team really playing much in the way of defense. I wouldn't count on this type of plan being successful all the time. FWIW, I think this wasn't the strongest Pats team (in all phases) to make the SB, and the Eagles were fortunate for that.
  11. The Giants, Ravens, and Broncos defenses of the past disagree. Had the Eagles secondary, which was exposed last night, been better, the game would not have been as close. So I still think defense wins championships. The Eagles were fortunate that Foles was able to go toe to toe with Brady and emerge the better QB in last night's SB. The Eagles were fortunate that the Pat's D was probably worse than theirs. How this relates to us is that yes, we need better QB play, but we also need a much better offensive system than what we had this season. Hopefully the addition of Daboll can help take care of this. But we need to shore up our defensive front seven, which got beat badly by the run while also not getting anywhere near enough pressure on the opposing QB.
  12. I think I remember hearing that his father is a big influence in steering Gronk's financial decisions. Good for Gronk...smart. Shocked to hear Marshawn Lynch did the same - I would have expected him to be a more thuggish MC Hammer.
  13. Awww, somebody is having a bad Monday morning . Just once I want to see how you all do in the regular season when the league doesn't help you out.
  14. Our team is the only one to go to four in a row. No one has done that since, or (I believe) will in the future. And 3/5 of your SB victories are tainted with egregious rule violations (i.e. spying) that the league swept under the rug. Additionally, this year the league got you to the game. Interesting how you couldn't win it without their help.
  15. I agree with this. I'm a bit surprised that Pederson went so conservative inside 3 minutes left in the game and deep in Pats territory. I would have expected that he take a shot or two at the end zone to try and end the game, but didn't. I think the Eagles were fortunate that the defense, which didn't play exceptional at all throughout the game, was able to get to Brady enough at the end of the game.
  16. I know Philly is not the first place this sort of thing happened, but this behavior makes no sense. Like jungle animals were disturbed from scratching their nuts and are now irritated.
  17. I hear ya. But all it takes is one disagreement; and after 18 years, I'm sure that only makes it worse.
  18. Power he has in NE? Belichick was overruled by Kraft when he wanted to trade Brady. So Brisette left preseason and Jimmy G was traded late season for a 2nd, which is lower than he should have gone for. I think it is possible Belichick scuttles the ship then leaves. He is a petty, vengeful little prick who will even the score with Kraft. Tell me one team who is desperate for an experienced coach that wouldn't give Belichick the keys to their organization?
  19. Neither D played particularly well. Pats never punted once, and Philly only punted once. I thought I read where one of your fellow Pats fans that frequent this board mentioned a rumor that Butler missed a team curfew. I suspect the Pats are about done. Brady is getting old and Belichick will either go on to a new challenge or retire; doubt he wants to bail out Kraft.
  20. Hopefully we're watching the evil empire crumble. Rome, British, New England.
  21. That was funny. Good stuff.
  22. I wouldn't read too much into it. This was the SB, too many eyes were on it for them to get away with their usual antics.
  23. Hell yeah I'd take him. Gives him a chance to stick it to his old team.
  24. Not out of the question. Plus I bet he's anticipating on leaving Kraft (and Brady) high and dry for getting nixed regarding not being able to trade Brady.
