  1. The NFL isn't allowed to play games on Saturday's in accordance with the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961, which exempts the NFL from antitrust laws for its broadcasting rights. The act prohibits NFL broadcasts on Friday nights and on Saturdays beginning on the second Friday in September and ending on the second Saturday in December.
  2. I understand the Steelers' frustration, but when that game was rescheduled, there had not been an investigation to determine if the Titans had violated league protocols. The investigation that is underway may change the league's position from accomodating to punitive.
  3. We have a choice of two problems: 1. Our OC leads an explosive offense, earns a promotion to head coach somewhere else and leaves us in need of a replacement. 2. Our OC leads an ineffective offense and stays too long before getting fired. Sign me up for problem #1.
  4. I just checked with Al Riveron. New rule this year - the tie goes to second person to take control.
  5. If it makes you feel better, the schedulers were kind to us, giving us a schedule with no teams coming off a bye this year. Now we have one, and the Titans were expecting to play Pittsburgh until this morning, so they don't get the full advantage that a team coming off a bye would normally have.
  6. Two things struck me from this video: 1. Our offence against Miami had multiple open receivers on many of the plays. 2. The biggest criticism of Josh was that he hit the checkdown on a couple of plays when a receiver was open further down field. Each of those checkdowns turned into 20-yd gains with the YAC. (Yes - I'm ignoring the Knox fumble at the end of one) This collection of receivers, combined with Daboll's play design and Josh play at the next level is setting up to be the most exciting Bill's offence that I've had the chance to watch. I missed the Superbowl teams of the 90's, so there wasn't much competition.
  7. No matter which combo we pick, we'll look better than the new Rams uniforms. Woof!
  8. It's the emotional roller coaster that makes being a football fan so much fun. After being stuck on the track in a broken coaster for so many years, it's time to enjoy the ride again!!! GO BILLS!!!
  9. I was just about to make the same point. Green Bay has been a permanent fixture near the top of the NFL world, with back-to-back franchise QB's (Favre and Rodgers) in my years of fandom. There are no bandwagon jumpers in Bill's Mafia today... although they may be joining us soon.
  10. I think it’s CB. Levi gives 100%, but he’s the weakest link in a strong secondary.
  11. This is what Christmas wishes it could be.
  12. I was pro-Duke a year ago because he brought something no one else in the WR room did - a big-bodied receiver who could make contested catches. I like this type of receiver in the red zone, where the spaces get tighter. This year, both rookies offer big frames while having more speed and better separation from defenders. I appreciate how aggressively Duke fights for the football, but the competition for WR5&6 is tougher now than it was for WR 2&3 a few years ago. I just don’t think there’s room for him on this year’s roster.
  13. If all of our offseason comments need to be grounded in facts and reality, there is very little to talk about here. Looking back, Vinatieri and Gostkowski have been great. Also looking back, Beane has hit on a high percentage of his picks, so my bias is to believe in who he picks until proven otherwise. Today, I believe Bass is our kicker for the next 15 years.
  14. I believe this belongs in the "Unpopular Bills Takes" thread. ? If you really think about it, most of our conversations should be in the "Unpopular Bills Takes" thread. ☺️
  15. Remember the good old days where we had a great punter but nothing else... that was great. ?
  16. I stand corrected. Thanks. I will now return to the park and resume yelling at clouds. ?
  17. I agree with what you're saying, but the should have been dropped when the blood test showed no evidence of intoxicating substances. There should have been no need for a judge to rule that the charges were unfounded.
  18. I’ve seen a few posts predicting that WR’s will be traded. While it’s clear to see that some receivers on last year’s roster won’t make the team, many teams have added WR’s in this draft that was so deep in receivers. It’s just a position that will be in over supply this year, making it a hard to trade position. Beane will trade one of our surplus O-linemen again as we have plenty of depth, while other teams are always looking for help there. On defence, it’s a tougher call. I don’t think that Murphy gets traded, as he seemed to get better later in the last season, but we have plenty of depth on the D-line, so this seems like the position group that’s most likely.
  19. I’m more optimist for Knox. He was very good with contested catches where his only goal was to catch the ball, but struggled when he was open and looking to run after the catch. It appeared to me that he took his eyes off the ball to plan his next move, leading to unnecessary drops. I think this can be corrected. TE’s have so much to learn to master the position with both blocking and receiving responsibilities. I expect Knox to improve again this year, with him really turning heads in year three.
  20. Looks like a rating system based solely on name recognition.
  21. The Bills are a collection of good players, but without the superstars. For defense, I would argue that the 11th best player on the field has a greater impact on your team's success then the impact of the best player. The weak link is consistently exploited by opposing offenses who game plan away from your talented players. On offense, you could make the same argument for offensive lines, where the weak link is attacked relentlessly. Most teams have bigger holes than the Bills and players who don't belong on an NFL field affect the game more than the superstars do. Show me a ranking of each team's weakest starter and I would expect the Bills to be at or near the top. This is why the Bills starting to win with consistency.
  22. You know the Patriots will be the first to exploit this rule, hiring a black GM and head coach. Of course, Bill Belichick will remain on the staff as Asst HC and Asst GM “for continuity reasons only.”
  23. I will enjoy watching the Evil Empire crumble. In response to some comments related to New York teams... in addition to the obvious big market reasons, the Jets and Giants also share a stadium so the Prime Time games give some extra scheduling flexibility for Met Life stadium.
  24. I knew it was a trap and I clicked it anyway. I never knew Andy Dalton could sing!!
