The 2016 offseason would be a good time to cut bait on the defensive line with Mario and Kyle. The 2016 DE and DT free agent list is deep.

Whaley doesn't know how to do either apparently.

I am hoping Mario, Kyle and McKelvin are cut next year, better cap flexibility going forward. The casuals will go crazy though.

How does a decline in the front 7 help Darby and Gilmore break up passes?

Ronald Darby is a stud and Gilmore is having his best year BY FAR.

A declining Mario and Kyle along with a regression to the mean of Hughes will do that.

I am really enjoying The Shield so far. To my surprise I might end up liking this show better than The Wire.

When I re-watched The Wire the season 2 plot was my favorite with Ziggy, The Greek, Sobotka, Nick, Sergie the russian and the connection with Prop Joe. Then you had all the separate stuff with Barksdale, Stringer, Omar etc. still going on. Season 2 had the most complex plot and interesting characters. The season 4 and 5 plots (school and fake serial killer) were really bad seasons, especially 5.

Yup! This is an overrated roster by the casual Bills fan. Casuals go by flashy names rather than what they are currently doing and at what stage they are in their career.

Schwartz and Pettine had Kyle and Mario in their prime and got a couple of flukey really good years out of Hughes. Rex unfortunelty is not inheriting the same calibre of player(s) with respect to a d-line that is in decline.

This is what the casual fan can't comprehend, the d-line talent is in major decline.

I think the differences is due to declining players especially on the defensive line and a lack of depth rather than the coaching differences between Ryan and Schwartz.

So pull the incompetent refs out of a national broadcast that the entire country watches to a regional broadcast where they can screw up the game to a fraction of viewers. That is not holding refs accountable at all, it is the National Football League trying to make themselves look better to a larger viewership while nothing is done with the problem itself - incompetent NFL referees. The NFL is becoming a joke.

The year the Ravens won the superbowl, Harbaugh and Ray Ray mentioned the "pastor" quite a bit to the media that year. He was also on the sideline as well during games. It is not uncommon.

Yup. What we needed the most from this so called "upgrade" from Chandler to Clay is YAC and we are not getting anything close to large improvement in that category. YAC is what the top tight ends that are mismatches provide.

Clay hasn't shown me anything that he is some special mismatch for defenses. 4.2 YAC also...yuck! Bills grossly overpaid for him.

I 100% disagree. This was a poorly assembled roster by Whaley who blew assets and grossly overpaid for skill positions yet negleted the o-line and QB. He also negleted adding quality depth to an aging and declining defense. This really is an 8-8/9-7 roster.
