Mario,Kyle,McCoy,Clay and Dareus are the worst of the bunch as they still have tons of guaranteed money.
McKelvin, Graham and Aaron are bad contracts mostly for next year. But they really hurt considering the bad cap situation Whaley has us in 2016.
Whaley has built a team with a losing record with a bunch of bad contracts with declining palyers, one of the highest team salary caps next year and the team doesn't even know if they have a franchise QB.
What could go wrong?
You net about 12.9 million towards the cap in a year where the team is in cap hell.
It would be a very wise decision. Cutting him does a lot even when you take in account a hit of 7 million in dead money for that year.
More like 10 million.
Yup. And to free up around 20 million you will need to replace Kyle Williams, Mario Williams and McKelvin.
Whaley has not done a good job with this team at all.
They need al ot more than a few million to clear up.
Why would you re-structure Mario? That makes no sense. The only option is cutting him. How much do you expect to clear up from Clay? It is still not enough. You are still missing quite a few players you still have to make decisions on to get in a decent cap position.
LOL!
You do understand they have to cut quite a few players first (take on a lot of dead money) to get in a decent cap situation right?
...and those players have to be replaced.
Penalties have been a HUGE problem for the last 3 years.
It does not fall squarely on Rex.
Pretty much the same roster that has been in the top tier in penalties the previous 2 years prior to Rex.
In the previous two years buffalo was 25, 31 and this year they are 31st.
It is largely a player problem.
As for the Bills, Whaley HAS NOT set up the team for great shape in the future.
They are losers in the present and will be in the future with how this team is constructed.
One of the/if not the worst DE in 2015.
I don't expect him to be this bad next year but he is in obvious decline. A smart GM would cut him next year even when you take in account his cap hit.
