  1. So let me see if I follow... Recent success equals preseason doesn't matter. Teams without recent success equals preseason matters but only in terms of if they lose. Because if they win, it doesn't prove anything because it's the preseason.
  2. I would include myself in that statement as well.
  3. I wonder how many people on this forum actually rewatched the tape... I'm not defending Shep, but the original statement from the OP was Shep getting burnt on a draw play. Funny just had a look at the game and Shep wasnt even on the field on that play. The Bills were in nickel defense and it was in fact Bryan Scott who got blocked by a Viking guard and allowed the play to go long. I'm not saying that excuses some of Sheps other bad plays but it makes me wonder if people are actually watching Shep or just assuming hes in the middle all the plays.
  4. I think it ends up being Jacksonville.
  5. So your saying a team who's playing base schems should still be able to execute effectively against teams who are being more exotic? Look the Bills have played 2 teams, who were worse off last year, have young QBs and have done lots of changing in the offseason. These teams have obviously chosen to be more arrgressive in preseason. Maybe it's because they want to give their fan base hope, sell more tickets. Maybe they need to find out earlier what they have with these young QBs. Who knows, but obviously the Bills are taking a different approach, but that doesn't mean what's happening now will translate to real meaningful regular season games.
  6. This! The problem is that the NFL has hyped the preseason so much, to make an extra buck, that fans now think it matters. You have teams who just go through the motions and they try to get through preseason healthy. Then you have teams that are out to prove to their fan base they'll be good or are showing off a franchise player. Hell, on teams there are different ideas how to approach preseason. There are guys out proving things while some are taking it easy. You've got guys going hard who want to prove they haven't lost a step or that an injury hasn't slowed them down.
  7. All I care about is that we make it through pre season healthy. All this talk that the Bills haven't won recently so they need to go out and show people. Thats a load of bull. Thats what you as a fan wants to see. It's the preaseason, they don't need to prove a freaking thing. They need to go out, work on problem areas, test guys out and not get hurt. That's it. They certainly don't need to appease the fans and risk injurys. What does giving it all, throwing all you got at the other team in a game that doesn't mean jack do in the long run? Let me answer that for you, it makes you, the fan, feel better. That's it. The fact that people are ready to say what's going to happen in the regular season based on the preseason makes no sense. Maybe, to save yourselves the anguish, dont watch preseason games?
  8. Man that was pretty rough last night. Holds and pass interference was definitely an issue. It was better than week 1 but man it was like the refs were afraid to call some obvious calls
  9. This. 4 man pressure and 3 sacks. I'd say thats an improvement. When's the last time that happened. Grated they gave up some big pays, but that could be a scheme issue, who knows.
  10. Your absolutely correct. But, compare Bradys line to Mannings. Brady has been sitting on easy street with the offensive line he has ha. Manning hasn't had nearly the talent on the OL the Brady has had. Hence why another QB, could come in and preform well when Brady went down. Manning goes down and all the little things that Manning disguised or made up for, went out the window. Hell that's why commentators joked about Manning being last years MVP. He was clearly the most valuable player on the Colts team. If you have an amazing OL, its easy to sit in the pocket and look great.
  11. I partially agree with you. IMO, Brady is a product of his supporting cast. Case and point : 2008 Pats and 2011 Colts. Brady goes out for the season and the Pats* still go 11-5. Peyton Manning goes out for a season and the Colts go 1-15. The Pats OL, has been the key to their past success. Just about any QB can look great behind it.
  12. I'm abroad, so I have no option but to buy this and it really is a great deal. You can go back and watch ANY game as many times you'd like.
  13. https://preseason.nfl.com/nflpl/secure/packages?ttv=3&ttp=3 I think this has been hashed out to death here, if watching pre season live is that important to you, pre season live from NFL online is your best bet. If your not bothered about it being live then NFL Network will show reruns.
  14. This. Anyone who says its a gimmick play doesn't understand basic math and also football. A defense has 11 players and an offense also 11 players. Except on any given running play the defense has 11 players who could possibly tackle the runner but the offense has only 9 blockers because the QB is not going to block. Especially on a running play up the middle. Your asking your RB to beat 2 players on his own. In the wildcat, because the QB is a running threat, you have an extra blocker. It's now 11 tacklers vs 10 blockers. Increasing the odds for your runner, that now only has the beat 1 player. Annnnndddd if you have a "wildcat" QB who is a pass threat, and spread the field out, that would force the defense to put an extra DB or 2 on the field taking off one of those tackling linebackers. Or creating a mismatch with a LB on a WR. It's all about mismatches.
  15. It is hilarious. I love how Rex thinks that this will make the Jest tough to prepare for as well. Because we won't be abel to focus on one specific offense. Does he realize there's a flip side to that as well. If they are busy practicing 2 types of offenses, his own QB's may not be getting the time needed to practice the offense. With the Jest having problems with their offense last year, is it really smart to be cutting the time up so you can practice this?
  16. Hahahaha. What are you going to be like during the ACTUAL season. Seriously though, why do you even bother following this team.
  17. For Tommys sake, they better hope he can...
  18. I'm confused, now I know it's only pre season, but judging by the Pats* line play, how the hell are these receivers going to have enough time to get open....
  19. Did you notice during the 3rd quarter or so, it was just showing the end of the plays, instead from the snap of the ball to the end?
  20. Agreed. I'm not sure what these other 2 posters saw, but what I saw, and I've watched the game 3 times now, was Cordy looked very comfortable out there at LT. Most of the breakdowns in the line, if you want to call it that, happened up the middle/right side, before the 2nds came on.
  21. TBH, I've seen them enough now, that it doesn't bother me.
  22. All the condensed games are up and working now. It's really a nice feature, I just watched the Jest/Bengals, Bills/Skins and Browns/Lions in just over an hour.
  23. But, but, but... He had 6 sacks last year, more than any Bills player in the past 4 years. And the Bills didn't utilise his talents like the Jest are...
