  1. Hmmm, Merriman dressed for practice tonight, but I thought he was done and a bum?!? Where are all the TBD doctors? In other news, the sky is falling...
  2. So his publicist announced it, big deal. He didn't donate to a charity, so it's not a tax right off for him, like most people who donate money do it for. Guy did a nice thing, hoping others would follow his lead. Leave it at that.
  3. I watched it for the first 2 days of training camp so far. It gets really old, really fast. Same updates on Peyton Manning, which happen about every 30 mins. Then they cut to RG3, then the Saints updates and thats pretty much it. They will do the occasional odd team update, but why they make the show as long as they do makes no sense. If they are going to focus on just 4 teams, they could make it an hour show. It would be nice if they actually did updates for every team, but then that wouldn't be exciting enough.
  4. Been married for a little over a year now: 1. I opted for getting something that meant something to each individual groomsman. We honestly didn't feel like doing keepsakes as I've been a groomsman in a couple weddings and can't remember what I did with the gifts I got. 2. I let my wife chose the song. She picked a nice Adele song, which I was fine with. 3. Communication is key, also its important to have your "own" time. My wife is British, so as much as she tries she just can't get into American Football. But she is real understanding of how important it is to me, and gives me my time for that and various other things. Just like I give her time for her nails, hair etc.
  5. Agreed. Just look at there roster for this year and there are lots of question marks. Offensive line is practically been blown up. Nat Solder, was ok at RT last year, but anyone who thinks he'll step in and see no difference between him and Matt Light is a fool. They did nothing to solve the secondary problem except draft a questionable safety. They will be relying on 2 rookies to bolster their pass rush problems...
  6. If you are outside the US, which I currently am, when you buy NFL Game Pass, you get streams of all the preseason and regular season games. Its not a terrible deal at all. They have 3 packages, the cheapest being the one where you pick 1 team and you'll only get their games. You also get NFL Network with the all the packages. I opted for the most expensive package, as you get NFL rewind and RedZone, plus unlimited access to the NFL coaches film. They also have iPad and iPhone apps. If you outside the US, it's honestly the way to go, instead of looking for illegal streams.
  7. Years ago, after a hefty night of drinking, I took the plunge and purchased the classier Delmonico plate at Lyell. I'm a cheeseburger plate guy myself. Thought I was being real classy that night and splurging a bit(I think its $11, compared to $6 for cheeseburger plate). Man did I get some looks and it was absolutely terrible. Haha.
  8. Great write up! I agree with one of the comments on your page about printing out a roster with player numbers before you go.
  9. I agree with this as well. Because it happened in the Bills division, its massive news. When in reality its not big news at all. They do this quite frequently. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
  10. This. Case and point: Albert Haynesworth, Chad Johnson, Alge Crumpler, Torry Holt, Joey Galloway, Fred Taylor, and Donte Stallworth. The New England Patriots love signing players who may be past their prime and hope that player turns it around. Which, in early years, seemed to work, like with Randy Moss or Junior Seau. The problem is, lately, this just hasn't been working out for them in terms of getting a lot from that player. Which, based on their record in recent years, hasn't mattered at all. It's relitively cheap to do this and doesn't bind them to the player long term. The only problem I see with what they are doing is, it takes time away from rookies developing and building from within. So they aren't building a core of young players. This is compounded by the fact that they have been missing on recent draft picks. Sooner or later, one would think(or hope)that effects of this will be seen. But maybe with Brady, they don't need to.
  11. But, but... the NCAA, who is in charge of over seeing student athletes/athletics, had to punish someone so why not those not involved, how else are they suppose to save face for all the $$ out there. Because obviously punishing football players/coaches and the like 10 years after the incident, when none of them were involved or could do anything at all to stop Sandusky, makes the most sense. Its about punishing "the idea" of Penn St football. They could have not signed with or attended PSU, not knowing at all what was really going on, but they should have known. It's all about setting an example.... You don't report a crime, we will punish those not involved.
  12. And there in lies the problem. It's not "their" program anymore, the major role players in the scandel aren't at Penn State anymore. So the NCAA is in fact punishing the insititution that is Penn State. Why should the current players, who didn't have any control over the situation, be punished for what some people did, who aren't even with the program anymore. Yes, it sends a great message to other schools, I understand that. But why punish the players?
  13. Actually he had 7 first downs, 4 obviously not on 3rd down. And that was low for him he usually averages about 12 rushing first downs a season. Add to that fact we gave up on the wildcat mid season. Let me do a quick check of other 3rd string QBs who have rushed for any 1st downs, when they aren't replacing an injured starting QB. Honestly, I don't get the fuss. The guy contributes aon offense nd has a role on the team, why complain.
  14. Saw the movie on Friday night and here is my thoughts: I enjoyed the movie, thought it had good pace to it, no extremely slow spots. I thought Ann Hathaway did a wonderful job, so much so that I thought Catwomen didn't get enough screen time. I loved the little bits that Nolan added to her character, not making it about cats, but that she was a cat burgler. No whip, no cheesy pantent leather. Her glasses when put up made cat ears, thought that was a nice touch. Banes character I had mixed feelings about. But thought overall Tom Hardy did a great job. As far as the trilogy is concerned, for me, I put this as the second best film. Still think the first is the best and oddly the TDK is last. The first to me, flew completely under the radar. After the absolutely TERRIBLE Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, Batman Begins reestablished my faith in Hollywood as far as super herores are concerned. I know, I know, everyone thinks TDK was the best. For me, it just wasn't. I honestly think if Heath Ledger hadn't died, fans would have been way more critical. Yes, Ledger knocked it out of the park, but IMO there are some REALLY REALLY slow parts in TDK. Overall I thought TDKR did a great job of wrapping up the series.
  15. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/17/marshawn-lynch-almost-hit-two-cars-before-dui-arrest/ Apparently he almost hit 2 cars as well. The legend of chippewa lives on!
  16. Yea went to H.S. near Rochester, I graduated from Hilton. Moved around a bunch after H.S. before settling here with my wife, who's English.
  17. Yup, Northern England. Orginally from Rochester, NY.
  18. It's been reported over here Bastian Schweinsteiger told a German newspaper he has an ankle injury. Or has had one for about 7 months or so. I guess they are making the claim he might not play Thursday, well that's what the opinion of the guys on Sky Sports said. Honestly, if he has been playing in it this long I doubt he sits.
  19. Pirlo is just ridiculous. That said, the Germans will prevail against Italy.
  20. Penaltys C'mon Joe Hart, you have played an absolute amazing tournament.
  21. What a game!!! I don't understand why Andy Carroll isn't out there from the beginning. The guy is all over the place. Extra 30, here we go!!
  22. That Spain/France match was as about as boring as football on TV gets. Hoping the Three Lions game tonight is a little more exciting. Sportscasters here in the UK seem to think Spain is the favourite but I think Germany wins it all. Schweinsteiger, Müeller, Gomez, Podalski, c'mon now!
  23. Completely agree. They look like fools when they take a dive, especially when they show it on replay. Then the player lays around on the ground, acting it up, obviously looking around for an ref. But... they will continue to do it so long as they get the call, which they do. There was one ref, in a Premier League match, this year that did hand out a yellow card for a dive. Sports writers here in England made a big deal of it, applauding the ref. But that was about it as far as I can remember for the ENTIRE football season. Its pathetic, honestly, that players do it. It's like, just play the game! It's what makes watching and enjoying football so hard sometimes.
