  1. I just posted as well because I didn't see this sorry.
  2. Mike and Mike this morning talked about the Bills. I know many including myself really don't pay much attention to them, but what they said wasn't too bad. Fat Mike said he would be surprised if Buffalo managed 4 wins this year only because Buffalo lost Poz, Whitner, and Stroud. Buffalo did pick up Barnett, but were so bad last year and such a tough division it would be impressive if they 4. Skinny Mike said he liked the fact that Buffalo hung in there on so many games last year and nothing went their way, that odds say some will go their way this year. He did state if Buffalo looked so bad last year by getting rid of Poz and company they might not be that bad because the team stunk on defense last year it wouldn't matter. Skinny Mike said he can see them getting 5 wins, and of course fat Mike agreed with that and said he give 5 games as well. This is what I took from what was said, now this is what I feel and think of it: Yes Buffalo did get rid of the above 3, only to make room for younger, stronger talent. Stroud dropped weight so he could move out to end last year. He didn't fit the scheme and is older and now we have Marcell D. who is bigger, faster and stronger. We have Troupe who is no longer a rookie and should be more productive this year. Poz made tackles (155) but 5 yards down field. Not all his fault, but I consider it a trade with Barnett. Whitner to me wasn't that great to begin with and to get rid of him is not that big. Buffalo will be much bigger up front on defense and with most core guys in the second year of a new defense, and a better coaching staff, they will much more improved. Buffalo has Fitz who will be in his second year under Chan and knows the system better and will be improved, will win us a game or keep us in it more. The offensive line is still questionable, but Chan knows how to use the offense so we will be a bit better. I can see the Bills going 8-8 this year and maybe even better.
  3. Now that's funny. I don't care who you are. That's good
  4. Me to. I'm a Sunday ticket guy myself, but looking for Bills fans in New London CT area to start a place to watch the games.
  5. It's been many years since I lived in Buffalo. The city gets such a bad rap for being so bad, and people often wonder why. The people are great but damn they throw in the towel before a play ever takes place. This is the problem with the fans in western NY. You have to believe, and here's why: 1. The team almost went 7-9 last year, and should have. This year is greatly improved with the coach (stache) and the defense. Give Chan the Man another year with the guys and he knows now who is who and what is what. The team as a whole grew together and the core group is back together and they know each other now. With Wood at center, that brings a very tough demeanor and the line will be better this year as well. 2.With both lines being improved on both offense and defense, that will put the team in much better position to win more. 3. I would expect Chan to have a spread offense that will keep the offense on the field more and the team in better position to score more. 4. Lights Out and Marcel will let Williams be more free and the defense will put more pressure on oposing teams and cause more turn overs and give the Bills better field position. 5. Dave W. should not be underestimated. He will help the defensive out by giving the right advice on what to do with people and stunts. The teams defense will be at least midle of the pack as far as the NFL teams are concerned. This is a huge upgrade from last place last year. This alone will give the Bills an edge to win more. For people to say only 5 wins is crazy. The Bills are better than the following hands down: 1. Miami 2. Oakland 3. Bengals 4. Skins 5. Titans 6. Denver Throw in there a couple upsets and you have a minimum 8-8. I would be very surprised if they lose more than 9 games.
  6. I couldn't agree anymore. I think the Bills will surprise many people. I keep saying we almost went 7-9 and that's with Trent starting, and our defense so young and new systems installed. Chan has the team believing in themselves and with Dave W. assisting the D, and our picks, we will be much more improved. Fitz should be much better and the chemistry will be stronger. Yes the offensive line might not be as solid as most like, but everyone said the samething about GB. No I don't feel we are the Packers, but I think we smack a few teams in the mouth this year including the jets and pats. I can us going 8-8 without a doubt.
  7. You know you could be more right than most see it. Most see the Bills as 4-12 last year but fail to notice we almost beat Pitt, and the Ravens. We should have gone 7-9 last year with a new head coach and new system on a very weak defensive team. That being said the Bills did improve towards the end of the year, and this year alone they are looking much stronger and better than last year. Many people will say that we are much better than last year just by the team getting another year under Chan and now they have Dave W. and he will be helping George Edwards out a lot with how to set things up. Dave is a very good defensive coach and that will show big time with Buffalo. I can see the Bills being better than 7-9. I can easily see them being a 8-8 plus team. Who knows? If Chan can open that offense up and the defense plays much better against the run then the Bills will have a shot. I see them as a true sleeper that will open eyes in a huge way this year for sure.
  8. I'm not sure about two positions myself, but Buffalo went 4-12 last year, and 3 went into over time. Give a catch and a kick and they could've gone 7-9. Take Trents starts and give a game or two to Fitz (we should have beat the fins). That made us 8-8. We are a much improved team with additions on the defense and with DW helping out Goeorge on the coaching with the D. The offense is greatly improved with the line alone having another year to be together and Fitz taking 1st team snaps and being the man from the start. I really can't see this team being better than 8-8 this year. If the Bills do anything under 500 then it will be a bad year for them. Everyone says the Pats and Jets, but feel the pats will have a very bad year this year. The offensive line is not that good and the defensive line is switching too much and Albert Haynesworth will be a huge bust and a cancer. Ocho is not that great and has a big mouth and will bother Brady big time. The jets will have struggles on the defensive side of the house. They will be without the NT and with the cornerbacks there will be a struggle and fighting. I feel Buffalo might even split games with these guys this year. I can see it happening.
  9. You know what Chan the Man brings to the table along with Nix is stability and knowledge. DJ failed because he never had a very good offensive coordinator, and for some reason he was able to get draft picks screwed up. What the new management brings is a willing to look at the picture and see what needs improving; defensively or offensively, it doesn't matter. Last year they looked at what they had an did the best they could. Trent Edwards in my eyes became lost when he took that hit in AZ. Before that the Bills offense was doing some things. (stats back that up). Chan tried bringing him back and simply couldn't so they cut all losses and moved on. This showed me that Chan will work with a player as long as the player puts in the effort, and can improve. He will give any one a shot, but if the job is not going to get done then he cuts his losses. Great for a manger to see what he has, and is not scared to show he will pull the trigger. Chan seen first hand how bad the defense was and this year made the picks to improve it. I feel as if the defense will improve greatly by the people they have, and plus with DW helping out George. I also feel George was in over his head, but Chan wants to mold him up to be a great coach. Chan most likely new DW would leave Pitt (politics all the way) and they would team up again. DW will help get the best out of players and give Edwards the credit of making this d much improved like a good manager should do. Pass the credit on. I like what Chan is doing and really seeing us being much better than most feel. I can easily see us going 8-8 this year, and if we pull off a few upsets and getting more confident who knows.
  10. The whole reason Jasper was drafted was he was told by the scout Mr. Hand, that if he got below 400lbs the Bills would give him a shot. He was about 450 when they said this. When it came time, he dropped down to 378 so Buffalo held their end of the bargain. If you look at it this way, Minn. just cut their OT because he was pushing 400lbs. The difference here is Jasper was told to get in shape and he did it. I'm sure if he continues to lose weight and work at his position the coaching staff will keep him. I really believe Chan the Man goes and strives on a persons will to achieve. Jasper I'm sure knows what is on his plate and if he tries and works hard then he will be on this team. I for one am hoping he he works hard and makes the team, but if he just uses his weight and doesn't try then he will be gone. All reports are saying he is doing good though.
  11. I agree that I think the Bills will be much better, and I can see them going 8-8. No that's not the playoffs but they will be knocking on that door and get more respect this year than people think. If they won those 3 over time games, they would have been 7-9, and if Trent didn't play at first they would have most likely won those games as well. Would've could've should've but if they did that last year with such a bad defense, what will happen this year? I totally agree DW will really improve the defense with assignments and the talent improvement will really show this year. I agree that the Bills will go from a dud to a respectable team this year.
  12. If you look at what the Bills did last year, they almost won 7 games and should have. I know would've could've should've. I predicted the Bills 8-8 last year with a few surprises. They came up short but have improved greatly. I see the Bills being a much better team this year and really belive better than 6-10. I'm not saying playoffs, but much better than last year. I'm glad they are predicted to be last because they have no better place to go but up. The defense will be much more improved and what gets me is everyone keeps counting them out. The Bills simply wont get good evaluation until they win more and get a new owner who will change his spending habbits. Just a fact of life in Bills nation
  13. I agree with our defense getting a lot better. with Wannstadt coming in and giving his knowledge, the Bills will be in more games and should pull off more wins than losses this year if there is a year. Many people talk about Jasper, but seeing he is huge, and will need time to develop, he will most likely be put into the practice squad. Troupe will be the man up front and Williams will be a third down player, or be a tackle in the 4-3. If the Bills go 4-3, expect Kelsey to be the 4th down tackle as well. That would be a very decent front 4, and when we go 3, Batten and Moats will be opposite Merriman in my opinion. I believe Buffalo has a much better front this year with coaching coming in as well.
  14. Remember last year Buffalo was in many games and lost 3 in overtime and should have won two of them. That was Chan's first year. For people to think Buffalo will only win 6 games is crazy. Buffalo has gotten defensive help big time, to solidify the front, and stop the run. George was on his first year as d cordinator and now we have Wanny who will really help coach and set the team up defensively. Our offense will be more improved with the line getting stronger and most likely improved with Wood becoming the center and us getting deeper depth at tackle. The team has a strong year together and what I like most is the defense getting Dave W. to assist a young group and really get them on track. With Troup getting a year under his belt, Darius at the #3 pick, and Williams. Not to mention Jasper Johnson and Carrington to fill in, that alone improved our front line greatly. Buffalo will not give up as many yards. Dave W. is an amazing defensive coach like Chan is for an offensive minded guy. They complement each other greatly, and the chemistry is there for a staff to make very sound decisions, that will only make the team that much stronger. Buffalo will not be a championship team, but they will be a very surprsing team. Fitz will not be a difference maker, but he won't have to be. Spiller will be a nice treat and Chan with a solid year under his belt will get him involved, no two ways about it. Our receivers will be overly surprising and we will be able to put solid numbers up this year. Last year was a year of understanding. This year will be a year of determination. Buffalo easly goes 8-8 but I say we make the playoffs.
  15. YES! Chan and Nix have done something. The Bills were in many games, and were blown out on a couple. If you take the over times and count them as a win, we were in the hunt for a playoff spot. Take the first few games with Trent in there and we did have a shot. I know would of could of should of, but to say we will be in the hunt for Luck next year is just crazy. Chan took that offense and turned it around in one year. We sucked before last year. Our defense has always given us trouble and teams could run on us, and we got even worse last year. What have they done? Gone out and picked up a coach who is known for having great defenses in Dave W. If we pick up a few players, like ILB, and a DT, then I feel we have a great chance at being the surprise team in the playoffs. I'm not saying contenders, but at least the playoffs. My surprise would be for us to take AJ Green, and us to pick a few people in FA for defense. Don't count out Shawn Merriman either. Nix drafted this guy and they feel he will come back and be as powerful as he was. That is a risk they are taking, but they just want an ILB.
  16. If all the fans stopped the bottom line would be no demand so the supply would either stop or have to cut prices. Guns and butter type scenerio
  17. It's the fans who should lock everyone out! Look at this way. If the owners can charge a person $100 to sit up in the nose bleed section and about $500 for other seats, then parking fees and not to mention anything else. This is how they can turn and pay a cb out of college better than all star pro bowl qb. No S^%$ the players want more money because the tv rights alone is unbilievable. Who do you think will pay for all this? It's the fans alone. The fans are the ones who should be demanding the owners keep each other in check. That idiot in dallas and in dc and atlanta should be fined for giving away stupid money to stupid players. Then we have the players like hayneworth who feel they should get paid to not play and demand to get traded and not pay back money? Get the f out of here with that. The fans need to step it up and demand it from Goodell that the owners need to tone down paying stupid money from the get go to show each other up. It's the fans who pay for it no one else, and who ever wins this pissing contest, like it or not your season tickets will be going up to pay for what? the contracts that are given out. I had enough of paying for anything like this about the game. I will never pay for tickets or the nfl game day to support this kind of behavior. I only wish half the fans could wake up and do the same thing so the nfl would get the hint.
  18. What Jerry Jones and some big time NFL rich boys must know is that the NFL is out pricing itself. Baseball took a huge hit when they locked out the players, and it hurt most of them. Some teams just kept on going like the yankees. The NFL has one huge disadvantage is that their season is very short in actual games being played. The NFL wants bigger markets but they will not be able to compete with each other before long. It may take 15 years for this to happen, but it will happen eventually. I know if the NFL becomes anything like baseball, I will no longer watch because one doesn't like to watch just one team win week after week. If the Bills ever left Buffalo, then I would be finished watching them. If teams keep moving to bigger markets they only have so many places to go in order to be competitive, which then the fan base will shrink because the loyalty of one team will be gone. It will be soon that many teams will be nothing more than just advertisements on jerseys and sponsored by big names like nike and under armor. Remember how dallas got dion sanders there? That idiot owner paid pizza hut to make commercials so he wouldn't go over the salary cap. That still happens today in my book, but will be the downfall of the nfl until the fans start saying enough is enough. This whole thing is the fans fault in a big way for not saying something and doing something about it. That is why I like cities like jacksonville to give it to the nfl. Why pay huge amounts of money for a nfl team when they several collages to go see. The market will not let the nfl expand too much more because who will sponsor it or pay for it?
  19. They can't make it right. If that happened to me, I sue them for everything they have. They know by giving them 2400 its a great deal to the NFL. If you read the article if they continue this, they can get up to 3 times the 5 million because even the NFL admittely said they knew about the problem before hand. Those seats for the SB were being sold at 5k a ticket. Anyone who travels knows when something like this comes along everything under the sun triples in price. I bet the hotels were charging about 500 bucks a night for just a single room. Take them for everything they got! The NFL rips off the fans ten times more than will admit to.
  20. The take I have on this is that I feel the players get overpaid way too much and have too much control. On the other hand, it's the owners like Jerry Jones and Atlanta's owner who offer way too much money to players to begin with. They should have had a salary cap on rookies from the get go, and then when a player retracts from a contract double his punishment. The end result, spoiled people wanting everything under the sun, and who wins? While they both will of course. Who pays? While the fans do of course. No matter how we look at it, the fans will feel the burden of this whole situation. I feel it should be the fans who lock out the stadiums and stop overpaying for a ticket. Buffalo is one of the only places in which a guy can reasonable take their kids to a game and not have to over pay. I refuse to go to any other games or even pay to watch the game because the owners have the ticket prices set so high, and the players want so much that they all are taking themselves out of the market. This is why they moved so much because they only want more out of their return, which I can understand, but if they out price themselves, then they will not have a city to go to because it would be too expensive for the area to go to. I know I will get bashed for this, but sit back and think of why they want to move back to LA after they had a team and left. It's only for market value. It's not a game, but a business that will only push as long as the fans allow. Stop going, and they move because they can. There is only so many cities that will deal with it. I say lock them out, and when they split the union, lock out the teams from the city. It will never happen because there is so many fans like the Jeryy jones who want to watch, and they will pay. Ask Jacksonville if it's worth it? Why watch the pro's when they have several colleges that they can go to.
  21. It went over so well they fought to get rid of the "SLUG" ever since they got it. NOT A GOOD IDEA AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. So you know what's like to be a Bills fan outside the lines there. Very tough to be a fan of a team that gets ppicked on. Out of every ten football fan only one respects Buffalo. Of course some jerk had the wide right picture blown up to cover my barracks room door.
  23. I've read so many people talking about the pregame and how we should or shouldn't have read the Declearation that I am amazed that the National Athem wasn't even sang right. I was in the service for 20 years and retired now for a few, and I will say this. I have seen countries hate us while we tried or thought we were helping. I honestly lost touch myself in my own patriotism and felt several times beat down and often wondered "What the Hell am I doing?" Then out of the blue something or someone smaks us in the face and let's us know why. I give the NFL HUGE props for what they did because sometimes WE THE PEOPLE FORGET or don't really remember why we do what we do. Any one who has seen a military funeral or a military retirment knows this very well and will never forget the first time they heard it. For civilians out there, how many ever really read or heard the Declerartion of Independence? I really bet the numbers will shock many. So please let's give the NFL bashing of the pregame a rest and just be thankful they opened up our eyes a litle. “OLDE GLORY” I am the Flag of the United States of America. My name is OLDE GLORY.
