And possibly QB . The Jets got it right they drafted a QB last year & i read that they will draft another this year dispite Rex feeling that Geno has made improvements in his game. Unless you have a guy like Luck good teams don't rest on a unproven QB they get another as a back up plan just incase if for nothing else to push the guy at the starting position . The Bills haven't drafted QB's in a long time why stop at one when he really didn't show super NFL ability . A security blanket can only help & if EJ is THAT GUY great then we have a really good back up or a QB we can trade for another pick in a later draft . Cause EJ didn't make me sit up at night dreaming of Super Bowls with him at the helm ... But thats just me ...

If Marrone is in fact trying to build a winner then this is a minor thing , hell in life every body has to show up for work on time so what is the difference in the NFL ? Sure he may be a "star" in the Bills organization but hey when it's time to go to work it's time to go . I'll bet Kyle isn't late !!

With having picked up the guy from Cleveland i see them cutting Kolb & saving them some money for other needs on the team !!

I'm not a huge RB fan but if he would have used a bit more common sense in some of his decisions i think things could have been much different around 1 Bills drive today & in the future . I will give my opinion which isn't worth a lot by some here !! But here it goes... The Toronto series could have been a success if the powers that be would have looked beyond the end of their collective noses & truly done a for real search for a coach which involved the thought of all that was involved with making the team a viable franchise in the region . At the time when they were looking at coaches to replace the Gailey regime the one coach that could have involved drawing canadian people to the games not only to Toronto but also to the Ralph would have been a Canadian coach that had won 2 back to back grey cup championships, not to mention that he had taken almost the exact path as another great coach for the Bills Marv Levy . If you look at the path that Marv & Marc (even their names are spelled similar) took to a HC ing position it is eerily similar & if hired because of the canadian people knowing him as a CFL Championship winning coach that alone would have taken & made the Bills as their home team more readily than just a losing team from B/lo trying to make money off the canadian people, hence making the Toronto series more successful . Choosing Marc Trestman with his NFL & CFL resume would have turned the Bills franchise around sooner, gave them more respect through out the NFL coaching circles & made Brandon look like a genius in all's eyes NFL & fans a like . But he let his heart make his decision for him & the Bills still have no respect, are still losing, & still are not in the play offs !!

Some where in a alternate NFL universe our beloved Bills are making a push to the holy grail this year the trophy that all teams play for the Lombardy trophy . But some things are much different in this alternative NFL universe . The FO of the Bills in this alternative universe sat back & did there due diligence & took a LONG period of time to see where they could improve before completely blowing up the team & it's coaching staff at the end of the Gailey era . And this is what they did ... At the end of last season they decided with the ore site of a great FO move that Buddy was not the answer & asked him politely to retire which he did . Then put Whaley in his current position & gave him full power of all things football & his first action was to tell Brandon to stick to what he knows & take care of the bills of the Bills ! Then Whaley kept Gailey & his offensive staff in place , but promptly fired Wanny & all coaches on the D & brought in Pettine to taker his place . With that part done Whaley went into the draft & got the players that we did get in this past years draft & Gailey as the HC still & still in charge of the offense they kept Fitz b/c the previous staff paid him so rather than cut him & pay him any way they kept him to teach the incoming EJ . Gailey being the QB/offensive guru that he is left Fitz in charge (but told him EJ is the future so don't get comfortable) of the O & put in place the other rookies but would bring EJ in as the "wildcat QB" from time to time to slowly acclimate him into the NFL . Later in the season after Fitz has kept the team respectable at this same time of the season with a mark of 6 & 7 Gailey realizes the lack of arm strength in Fitz & that of the last 4 games Fitz has lost 3 by last minute INT's so Gailey puts EJ in after acclimating him slowly into his offense . With only 3 games left to the season & still in the play off hunt at 6 & 7 Enter EJ in Gailey's offensive philosophy, tutelage, & Play calling & EJ wins the last 3 games (with help from Carpenter) by squeakers b/c they kept B. Kaufman earlier in the season & let TJ go so we had two large presence in the red zone which helped EJ to those extra wins . Fitz was his normal team self helping EJ every chance he got to see the things he needed to & with those wins put us in as a wild card at the mark of 9 & 7 which we later got beat out by the Pats but we made into the play offs - drought over !! This year in the books the next year with another draft under our belt EJ is the starter Pettines D dominates with the addition of a LB or 2 in the draft plus getting rid of Stevie & drafting this years Megatron in the draft & a great TE the Bills can't be stopped as they march to the ultimate goal & WIN IT ALL THE BILLS ARE SUPER BOWL CHAMPS !! AH but back to reality ... OH man is this some good stuff !!! Cough Cough !! HA !!!

In the words of the famous rock band HE " Same as it ever was" I hope there is change on the horizon & do see improvement in our D but the offense has taken a step backwards & there is a good chance that we finish with a worse record than last season . So if we have to fight to get back to where we were with what most Bills fans thought was a terrible coaching staff under Gailey & company then is it really progress?

It's the experienced coaching staff that we have that makes those kind of calls isn't it ?

Ya maybe but he's still ahead of EJ as far as performance so what does that tell us ???

If they want to see how to use CJ they need to watch Kansas City & how they use Charles & see how a successful coach use there great players !! DOH ! Learning curve !!

We're you expecting any thing less for playing one of if not THE crappiest team in the NFL ?? Now if he does that against Atlanta, New England, & others then there is something to celebrate but common man the Jags suck worse than we do !! If he didn't look that good then there would be something to worry about ! And he should worry more about his play than celebration dance !!!

There was more than one coach Marrone should have kept if he was this great NFL mind that Brandon thought he was but that's what you get when a baseball guy runs a football team !! He should have looked at what parts of the team were doing good & kept those coaches such as O line - Joe D , Pete Metzlars - TE , RB's coach & possibly others ! But choosing a coach with Marrones vast experience ... Well that's for another post !!

Ya but Rogers given a bit of time like in Indy could have done for us what he did for them last week maybe alls this coaching staff needed to do was have a bit more faith in the kid & he could put up a bunch of games with 7 catches for 190 . That is one thing this team doesn't do is take chances which Cincinnati is glad they took Burfict last year & the Cards are glad they took a chance on Tyrann Mathieu alls those 2 do is ball when they are on the field & once again they both sat there & the Bills passed on both !

Personally after last weeks loss & beating one of if not the worst team in the NFL EJ needs to concentrate more on his play and less on his celebration when he scores !! Maybe after he gets 2 wins in a row he can do his dancing but for now just show us why they brought him here as a first rounder & let the fans believe as much as the coach does the he will be the guy . Because I'm still not convinced especially with this win ! This one should have been a given & he only won by one score !!

I don't know if this has been covered yet because i haven't been on in more than a few days, so if it has been covered please forgive me. The last time i was on i had read a couple of posts about hiring Houston's ex HC Gary Kubiak as our own, but seeing as we have a first year HC i don't think that it will happen any time soon ... BUT !!! Seeing as we have a HC & OC in place & the OC IMHO is trying to do just a bit too much especially his first year as a NFL OC as far as OC/QB coach/what ever else he has on his plate, why not hire Kubiak to be the QB's coach & possibly the assistant HC like Gailey did with Wanny ? The only thing Hackett might get a bit bent out of shape, but it would give him more time & he would have to be on his toes b/c. One there would be a competition factor knowing that if he doesn't do his job well there is some one that can + there would be some one else with quite a bit of experience to bounce offensive ideas off of . Or not, b/c with the extra time he would have from not being the QB coach he could focus more on the implementation of the game plan & not be distracted during the week by having to pay attention to the QB's b/c they would be in more than capable hands . Kubiak would have a lessor role which would be good for his health & we would have another set of experienced (championship winning) eyes on the offense to teach championship ideas & to hopefully turn things around quicker . Kubiak would basically be doing the same thing he did in Denver for so many years while helping them to a Championship or 2 . And heck Hackett along with Marrone might pick up on some stuff along the way ... Well there you have it . I've heard of a lot worse things come down the pike in B/Lo so what do you all think ? Again IF this hasn't already been discussed ? Carry on !!

Yes he definitely has all you said but the 3 most important things you need to be a above average NFL caliber QB is accuracy, consistency & decision making which is where EJ has lacked in his college & now his NFL career . I hope he does make that jump next year but i still think we need to draft another QB this year b/c the class is heads & tails above last years class & if for no other reason than to put a spark under EJ's A** to compete at the highest level then we need to draft another QB !! Plus it would be smart as a security blanket JUST INCASE EJ isn't all they thought he would be & turns out to be another Jamarcus Russel & never comes around . Smart teams has 2 good QB's look at what the Bears have with their #2 McCown thats what we need !!!

I would have liked to see what Gailey could have done with this kind of talent added to his O & Pettine as D coach ! I think Fitz may have been able to get us closer to the playoffs than what we are now & we would have had his services while paying him rather than not having him & having to pay him any way !!

Heck bring in Jason Campbell all the guy does is play ball & is way better than any one we have had here in a while !! We could go back to the old ways keep him around for a couple of years to win some games & teach the young guy while he sits on the side line watching how it suppose to be done ... EJ although a good guy is not the answer a rookie should show a lot more even in a lose than what he has collectively to this point & i for one don't see it !!

Especially if he has his dad in his ear ! But if i remember the elder Hackett wasn't this huge offensive guru was he ? I mean i do remember him & he was a GOOD but not GREAT offensive coordinator kind of what we all thought of Wanny as a D coordinator !!

If they keep playing this way they could be moved to LA by 4:25 in week 16 !!

Of course it will but as long as the Bills take the LB out of Buffalo in the first that would be cool but we need to get another QB !! In the words of another coaching rant of recent history " EJ is what they thought he was" I just hope the FO of the Bills realize it & don't show the unwavering commitment to him that they have shown in the past & realize what they need to do moving forward ...

Agreed some of the rules such as the having control through the process of going to the ground is the most ignorant rule they have implemented in the history of the game !! If you have possession when you hit the ground END OF DISCUSSION !! weather you lose it after you role or not your down & other rules interfere with the what we came to love as the NFL !! Not to mention free agency has done to ruin the game i believe that was the beginning of the end for me but all the other things have just helped . I am so discouraged with the leadership of our team & the stupid decisions that they make then try to pass it off to us as good sound football moves ???

Well if you are wondering just what the heading of this post is about i will tell you, it has to do with GOOD coaching of which we have seen a lot of over the last 10 years in our division & actually applies to more than one of the coaches in our division, but i named it according to the best in our conference. It is What Would Bellicheck Do With THe Bills in Another NFL Dimension ?? So i ask you if next year we lured Bellicheck away from the Pats (which that ain't happening) what do you think he would do to make this team better ?? First off i think he would have a sit down with Brandon & tell him to keep his nose out of things he knows nothing about ! Then he would have a sit down with the Whaley & tell him how he plans on the 2 of them need to work together to build this team into a winner & one of the first actions would be to almost completely change the scouting department b/c until this year they have failed miserably ! Then i think he would start to move a bunch of players - 1 starting with Stevie J not mostly b/c of his play but b/c of his injuries & i think he would trade him for a draft pick to add to the WR corp that we do have. I also believe that TJ Graham would be the next casualty b/c of his inconsistency at the position. He could move him as a kick returner do to his speed but that is the only way he stays around . I think in his evaluation of the team as a whole he might get rid of A Moats, possibly Braham & a out side possibility of trading K Williams not b/c of his play but b/c of his age, injury's & to save some salary to bring in others. Then i think he would redo Mario's contract for the short term so he could bring in other players to make the team stronger . There are my thoughts if there was a possibility of this happening in another dimension cause we know it ain't happening here !! What else do you think he might do in this dream ??

Since i have quit watching the games my depression has been much less . My therapist says if i quit reading about the Bills that i have a good chance of my alcoholic tendencies to subside . And they said if i quit all things related to the Bills that with in one years time my chemical dependencie, alcoholism, depression, & dreams a grandeur (the Bills going to the play offs) will be completely gone & i can be released from the facility that i am now committed !! But hey I am a die hard Bills fan so i will now start on my next 12 pack !! GO BILLS !!!
