  1. OK the guy is a pro bowl WR but after getting rid of Marshawn for his trouble while with the Bills why would any one want to pick this guy up ? He's from any thing i've seen or heard nothing short of a hoodlum ! He blew through his rookie contract money before the end of his last contract year was broke because he was paying to keep his entourage in the party mode . This guy is a big city born & raised person he wouldn't last in a smaller city like Buffalo & if he did come here i think he would be trouble for what it's worth ! Not to mention if he signed the contract he did in Philly what makes any one here think he would give the Bills a break on his price i don't see that happening at all ! Let the Raiders take him , he'll be close to his boys & can keep the uproar out of B/Lo ! We need strong character guys !! Not some one with more than a few unanswered questions surrounding him ...
  2. I had the privilege of meeting JK at the New England game 2 years ago & he signed a football for me before the meeting . He was more than humble & when he heard what i did for a living he seemed genuinely interested & made as much time as he could to spend with a fan, of course there were 100 others waiting in line but he came back & talked a bit more after he made his rounds . It was a great experience & privilege to meet him ! Get well soon JK !! Keep the prayers coming for him & his family he is one of us ...
  3. I new that the NFl & the AFL were 2 separate leagues at one point & with the passing of Ralph i have heard more of "The Foolish Club" which were any thing but , & it got me started on a different path which led me to what i am about to share with you. I hope some of you will find it as interesting as i did & this may stir your interest to know more . The Original 2 of the Foolish club tried to get into the NFL in 1959 those 2 being Lamar Hunt & Bud Adams . In 1959 they were refused entry into the NFL which prompted them to look for 8 businessmen to form a 8 team professional football league which became known as the American Football League or AFL for short as we all know . Max Winter was to be a part of the originals with a Minneapolis franchise but was lured to the NFL as the Vikings in 1961. He was later replaced by a man F. Wayne Valley which was not only the owner of the Oakland Raiders but also was a driving force within the AFL. Lamar Hunt was the owner of the then Dallas Texans now known as the Kansas City Chiefs as we all know them, The second original member was Bud Adams which was the owner of the then Houston Oilers & the now Tenn Titans these 2 men were the 2 that hatched the AFL . Harry Wisner was the owner of the then New York Titans that became the Jets, Bob Hosam was the original owner of the Denver Broncos, Barron Hilton the original owner of the LA Chargers which are now known as the San Diego Chargers, (which is another failed attempt of a football franchise in LA) sorry just had to throw that in there ! Then there was of course our own Ralph Wilson that has always been the Buffalo Bills from day one, & last but not least was the owner of the then Boston Patriots Billy Sullivan which we all have come to know & despise as the New England Patriots . The fl was also the league that introduced the idea of TV revenue sharing in the early years which made the AFL very financially stable which eventually led to the forced merger of the 2 leagues to become the NFL as we know it today . The AFL had a lot of forward thinkers that added to the over all NFL as we know it & as time went on the originals that stayed around up until the last few years i think helped to keep the NFL in check to not out grow their roots . But now with Ralph being the last of the originals & the one that it has been said wasn't afraid to stand alone & voice his opinion on certain matters I have a certain amount of fear of what the NFL could become with out some of these steadfast owners that thought more of the game & the fans than the all mighty dollar !! The Not So Foolish Club - Lamar Hunt - Bud Adams - Harry Wisner - Bob Hosam - Barron Hilton - Ralph Wilson - Billy Sullivan & F. Wayne Valley . Thank to you all for your forward thinking & your foolishness to do what others would shy away from !! But most of all to you Mr Wilson for our Bills ! RIP !
  4. I agree with most all you have said but don't forget there are a more than a few money hungry greed mongers that own teams & don't think it is far that the smaller market teams can survive with out grossing as much as the bigger teams such as the Cowboys do . Which happens to be owned by one of the mongers i speak of. Jerry thought Ralph was old school & guys like Ralph are the ones that kept the balance I'm just afraid now that the balance has shifted into the gluttony & a greed motivated NFL which it has been moving there over the years . I just hope Roger can keep the wolves at bay & allow a great franchise as our Bills to stay where they are instead of having the end all be all being making $6.5 mil rather than $5 mil ..
  5. With all the stupid rules that the NFL comes up with like the no celebration thing & now the no dunking deal they should make a rule that all original AFL / NFL teams need to stay in their original cities . The only way a team should be moved is if the fan base is just not behind the team or the city isn't behind them & it can be proven that they are losing money . And as a added amendment that if a city has had 2 or more chances at having a NFL team they don't get yet another chance ... Leaving LA sucking hind tit as it should be . They have enough sports teams any way . Not for nothing American football should be left in America ! Let london & Toronto get there own leagues ... Personal Opinion !!
  6. Yah but when ever conventional wisdom tells you one thing the Bills do the exact opposite . Last year every one said there wasn't a QB worthy of the first round what did the Bills do ? Take a QB in the first round ! 4 Years ago we had 2 good running backs Lynch & Fred , what did the Bills do with their first pick CJ at 9 . Then if you look back at other picks like when Orapko, & Matthews were sitting there for the taking & we past over them it just fortifies the argument ! So if you try to figure out the brain trusts in this camp you'll be like a dog chasing your tail .
  7. Hey i can dream can't I ? After all most of you do the fantasy football thing & i don't burst ya'lls bubble . Besides what is so unrealistic about the trade of TJ to the Eagles to add a late round pick in the draft ? In my world it doesn't seem so far fetched . Hang on i have to take my medication i'll be right back my nurse is here ...
  8. The NFL with their rules are becoming like the Nazi empire the latest change has definitely described the NFL as the "No Fun League" i mean come on these guys are excited to score whats next ban what was first known as the Lambeau leap they will turn this thing into the most boring game to watch ever it will rank right up there as far as boring with soccer !!
  9. Now that the Eagles have gotten rid of a WR that is 5' 10" tall & was a speed guy could the Bills, or should the Bills look into trying to help the Eagles replace that guy in Philly ? The Bills have a WR that has some pretty good speed but has been covered up on the depth chart & after the draft may slip even lower & get less game time than he has had in the recent past . I am talking about TJ Graham . Do you think the Bills should try & move him via trade to the Eagles & get back a 3rd , 4th or 5th round pick "OR LATER" for him ? I for one think it would be a good move . The Bills will more than likely pick up another WR via the draft so that will in turn drop TJ down the depth chart even further with the emergence of Woods & Goodwin . So would this be something the Bills brain trust should look into seeing as TJ's out put has been below average to say the least ? If they get some one like Mike Evans or Watkins i doubt TJ will get a sniff of the field unless some one goes down & gets hurt . I never did understand the pick any way he was not a WR that was heavily talked about in his draft . All's i can thing is they were looking to develop him into that receiver .
  10. Now that our beloved owner has passed the stories of the Bills future in Buffalo have already started, but the questions of the Bills in Buffalo have been going on for quite some time & here at 2 Bills drive i know we have had many posts about the subject . In the last year alone we have had many talks about the Water front stadium, the renovations that are now on going at The Ralph for this upcoming season , & there are many different opinions about the entire stadium debate, & now with Ralph passing it will more than likely increase ! We all know especially if you are a home owner the up keep of your home never seems to stop so why would it be any different with the Bills home or any other NFL franchise home ? So it got me to thinking, seeing as the NFL is a copy cat league in the playing of the game why not be that in the ways of copying other older teams actions of keeping there teams in a up to date NFL stadium 2 immediately came to mind . One being a partner to our own Ralph Wilson in starting the AFL Lamar Hunt which was another original like Ralph to bring their teams into the merge of the NFL , which have played at Arrowhead stadium most of there franchise /NFL life . Arrowhead Stadium broke ground in July of 1968 & opened onAug 12th of 1972 at the cost of $43 million . To bring the stadium up to par they did a renovation in 2010 that cost $375 million to to what it is today a viable NFL stadium . Then there are 2 of the oldest NFL venues that are all up dated & 2 of the nicest stadiums in the league a t a lot less than the $1.6 Billion price tag that Jerry paid for his ego . Lambeau Field opened in 1957 as City Field in Green Bay at the original cost of $960,000 . In 1995 they did a $4.7 million renovation to it & then again in 2000 they did another to the tone of $295 million & then the last one started in 2013 which will add yet another $140 million in reno's to the stadium which will infuse some $60 million into the local economy as wages . Total reno costs at $39 mill ... Last on the post is the oldest NFL stadium Soldier Field opened in 1924 . Which the Bears didn't move in until 1971. In 2001 they took out bonds to pay for the renovation of the stadium at a cost of $400 million which is still a far cry from $1.6 for a new stadium which would be nice but in the present economy of western NY a renovation of the Ralph looks to be the most cost efficient way to keep the Bills viable for a while . What are some of your thoughts on this matter I know it may be a rehash but there will be a lot of rehashing this topic until we find out the future of our beloved Bills .
  11. With all of the talk here about weather or not EJ is the guy of the future & if we should pick up another QB if one falls in our lap there is one coach that seems to think along those lines . He references the Redskins to their 2 QB draft a couple of years back which didn't hurt them & may have helped them in some instances when RG3 went down, which happened to EJ last year & has the possibility in a game such as football which as they say any back up is one play away from being a starter . http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000336603/article/mike-pettine-cleveland-browns-might-draft-two-qbs It just so happens this is also the forward thinking that put our D on the map . And i for one will say i think this year will be a coming out party for this team !! Enjoy the read ...
  12. Ya at least we waited till the 16th over all of the first round so we don't have as much to lose if EJ tanks !! If the Jets had a back up plan at QB this would't have hurt them as bad but thats what they get for putting all their eggs in one basket !!
  13. DITTO ! He has a Marino like quick release !!
  14. Theres always 2 sides to every story , if the other guy was a punk he may have deserved what ever they are alleging he got .
  15. The thing is that the Bills are still paying him on the contract he signed here . Who ever allowed that to happen the way that it did should do one of two things , either be made to pay the remainder of the contract after he's let go or immediately be fired !!
  16. I really like Carrington i can't stand his agent !!
  17. They didn't do it when Wilson was there & have said they aren't going to do it this year which IMHO is pretty foolish putting all your eggs in one basket but there has been a lot of moves the Bills have done that i haven't understood . I think we should se our 3rd round pick for the best LB available & get a QB in the 4th depending on who is there . If Garrapollo, Boyd, or McCarron is there i would snatch any of them up in a heart beat !! Would be a great back up plan & taken that late wouldn't hurt EJ's feelings as has been said !!
  18. SAME AS IT EVER WAS !!! (great band) Why should it be any different this year than the past ? Besides when ever they do look at the Bills & start talking about how good they look & what they look like on paper like what 2 years ago we always fall flat on our face with the expectations being so high . So let's just keep it under the radar & go out & kick butt !!
  19. I think they would be better served to wait till the later rounds for a player like Garrapillo, Boyd, or McCarron to fall to us . One of these guys are going to be there in the later rounds & if we can fill the O line pick in 1st or 2nd get a good WR & another LB i could see this being a great back up plan JUST INCASE.. You never know how things will go but if the so called experts are even close to being right we could have it all back wards . If they would have kept Fitz one more year there would have been a lot less dead money going out cause of that great contact move & given what the again so called experts said about last years class of QB's . Yet this years is suppose to be way above what last years was so if we don't take a QB late i think it could bite us once again & there might be the possibility of us looking back in a couple of years saying the same things we said about Losman & Edwards . With nothing to fall back on ...
  20. I just got through watching the video of newly signed CB Corey Graham & Chris Brown talking while in the locker room which is very cool ! To see a true Bills fan now playing for the team to fufill a dream is great . I think that just maybe there may be a bit more loyalty with a player that grew up being a fan of the team he now play for, and less of the all mighty dollar mentality but i am probably wrong cause cash is after all the bottom line !! With that being said it would be great to have a take 2 of this scenario . Sammy Watkins has said he grew up watching the Bills & has been a fan his entire life. He remembers watching the great 90's teams as we all did, so i think it would be cool if there was a way he could come to the Bills in this years draft, although i don't see it . I think Watkins will be gone before our pick at 9 plus i think a better scenario would be what i am thinking the picks could help the team over all . Even though this draft being so deep if we got Watkins in the 1st we could still get a really good O lineman in the second , so i guess it could work . My personal picks by rounds are 1st) OT - Lewan - Mich 2nd) WR - Benjamin - FSU & 3rd) LB - Borland - Wis. if still there . With getting Spikes he could be Borland's mentor & when Spikes contract is up he will be ready to go at ILB . I think the first 2 because they both would help EJ not just keeping him protected yet another take 2 with Benjamin (if that is the guy WR from FSU i am thinking about) which EJ already has a familiarity with & could jell quicker & be the Big WR we have been talking about . As for Borland I think he is going to be another London Fletcher from every thing that i have heard of him pre-draft . Any way there are 2 take 2's for one .
  21. He could be the next name a top of the Dead Money list for the Bills ... Which would stink cause i think he is a good player , if nothing else try to trade him & get something in return ...
  22. I have many times due to my work . It matches jerry's ego it's like his mansion on the hill . It has fan seating or boxes behind the players which IMHO stink because during the game your always looking at the asses of the players which if your a chick i guess it would be OK but i want to see the game . Jerry world is just that , it has more access to the players they actually walk through the bar area to go to the locker room which i guess if you are that ate up with the players would be cool but i like a little more separation which keeps the fan / player thing alive . I would hope if a stadium is built in B/lo it is more to mirror the city than the owner & i want nothing to do with being any where remotely the same as Jerry Jones .
  23. The first of many of Jerrah's very stupid moves & he's still going strong !! Makes me feel really good to be a Bills fan !!
