  1. I don't think it'll be that easy. If our Josh stinks and the other Josh excels I don't think they survive. Conversely, they'll be heroes if it works. This was the year to pick a quarterback, the talent drops off next year. That's just not reality. The rap on Allen was accuracy and process time. And it came from almost all draft evaluators. Allen is boom or bust. If it's the later, Mcbeane can't say they weren't inform of it. Especially if Rosen excels and Allen doesn't.
  2. I love Van and all of his quirks, but as far as solid play-by-play goes Meltzer was the best. Really excellent at what he did. That said, Van was a Buffalo guy.
  3. Not as much as McBeane does. Their jobs in Legacy all rest on that kid. Not so goofy, pro franchises gamble on raw talent all the time. The odds are against you but it doesn't stop them from doing it.
  4. Hard to not see the offense not taking a step back this year. There's just not a ton of talent in this line up on the O side. The D will keep us in games, but unlike last year I think we turn the ball over a lot more. I'm prepping myself for a mediocre year, but hopefully will see our young talent start to blossom towards season's end. It's part of the process.
  5. Increasingly I can't separate the two anymore. As for me, I'm not sorry to see Graham go. His stuff is always 50/50 in my book, good and bad. If any of us had that track record at our jobs we be out on the street as well.
  6. And a wuss tackler.
  7. I hope they hire Fairburn. He actually works at his craft and has grown as a writer. He may be in the Felser mold, call out the bad but also point out the good. Gleason and Sullivan suffered from laziness and I feel grew to loathe their beat. It's like much of all media today, they move from healthy skepticism to bitter cynicism.
  8. Couldn't agree more. I think both these guys compliment each other and if Shaq has a light come on, DE could actually be a position of strength for us.
  9. My friends in Cincy say he was awful and got blown off the line consistently. They warned he'd be the weak link. I thought Groy played extremely well subbing for Wood. we'lll see. I am betting Bodine will ride the pine once he's pushed around when preseason gets going.
  10. This pretty much sums up how I feel about it too. But, I'm hoping beyond all hope that I am wrong and can eat me some Crow. I do hope is a better quarterback than an artist, boy that logo he drew was brutal!
  11. If they didn't televise it interest would die quickly. Personally I don't care what millionaire players or celebrities think. You want to kneel, fine. They have that right, and we have a right to protest their protest. Be happy you don't live in Iran, Russia or Venezuela.
  12. Why not? As 26CB says get used to it. These guys are joined at the hip for the rest of their careers.
  13. Sorry to read this. He was a solid player here on and off the field.
  14. That's right, but he did throw a couple long passes to Moulds to setup scores. And with one shoe on he completed a key pass to get as close enough for the field goal to take the lead. Johnson wasn't grea, but Steve McNair was worse and was held to only 76 yards passing. It was a defensive game all the way. I think Flutie would have got stuffed.
  15. Come from behind drive with a beautiful TD pass to Moulds. Flutie apologists seem to forget DCs figured him out and he needed to sit.
  16. Rob Johnson had the game won in Tennessee. All we had to do was cover a damn kick.
  17. Other than that, what's not to like? Don't forget, they said Kyle Williams was not strong on the point, could be driven off the line, and likely would never be a starter.
  18. Ugh. There must not be a lot of talent these days at RT. He looks like he's frozen in Carbonite against a speed rusher.
  19. True. I'm just more comfortable with some "ifs" more than other "ifs."
  20. I remember when he first came on board, we were all excited about having a top name coach like Chuck Knox. Ground Chuck! R.I.P.
