  1. Not buying it. You still put pieces in place so when your quarterback does evolve he will have some talent on offense to work with ant not a bunch of Jags. Sorry I'm not buying it. A good FO doesn't completely ignore one side of the ball.
  2. I'd say yes but Joey Chestnut already won the hot dog eating contest.
  3. Maybe, but he also thought that Bodine, Ivory and some of the other free-agent cast-offs he picked up this year are going to be starting material or big contributors. I'm not optimistic. I think they ignored the offense and we're going to pay for it.
  4. This front office chose not to make any significant investments in the offense, this year. And I think we'll pay the price for it now. They focused entirely on defense except for moving up for a quarterback, who if works out - a big if, won't play for a while. Yes Wood, Incognito and possibly Shady were things they didn't expect, but that's what a good front office plans for - the unexpected. So this is the offense that the FO decided was suitable and we're just going to have to live with it. There's still time to make a few tweaks, but I'm not optimistic.
  5. He's feeling the heat to raise that completion percentage to 57%.
  6. Aaron Maybin Mike McBath Erik Flowers George Jakowenko
  7. OP, if I were you I would take responsibility for the offending post, but not the blame. It's just how things work today.
  8. If you're so hung up on the USFL reference then disregard it. I still think the rest of the points I made are valid and I completely disagree with your assessment of the quarterback listings. Happy to further discuss my points if you like.
  9. Nice try being dismissive. What about everything else I said? His completion percentage and quarterback rating were remarkably similar from the USFL into the NFL, and both of those - just counting his NFL rating, better than either Tarkenton or Marino's. Take the first year or two of any quarterback and I'll easily take Kelly's USFL experience. If you seriously put a ton of distance between Marino, Tarkenton and Kelly then I seriously question your football acumen when it comes to QBs - or at least I disagree with it.
  10. Nonsense. If you count Kelly's two years in the USFL the passing yardage difference shrinks, particular with Tarkenton. Marino threw for a lot more yards but had a lower completion percentage, as did Tark. Both had lower a QB rating than Jimbo. And for all his yards passing, Marino took the Dolphins nowhere except for one year. You have to go by stats, impact and effectiveness. Those are three great quarterbacks but there shouldn't be a huge amount of distance between them.
  11. No wide right he'd have a ring. He won us plenty of of games with his pluck. And by your measure you better pull Marino off that list as well
  12. It doesn't offend me but I disagree. Kelly is in this mix.
  13. Winning is not a one-man thing. Brady has had the luxury of the ideal cast, coaches, and situation for his whole career. I doubt he'd have the same success with the teams and coaches Manning had.
  14. I actually tried watching a VHS a couple of months ago. It was awful.
  15. Damn, does anybody have a VCR?
  16. Forgot about Kamil.
  17. Once Bodine gets pushed all over the place in pre season, Groy will be a lock.
  18. Beane probably said that because Kaepernick would be a distraction.
  19. I never have been one to rationalize something after the fact. If the OP needs to do that to bolster himself that's fine. I remain disappointed and hope for the best. Actually I hope my gut on Allen is epically wrong and I will gladly eat a plate of crow. Still, I don't need to create a scenario or disparage the guy we didn't pick to make me feel better. Let's just hope Allen is the elusive franchise QB we all want.
  20. And I was just going to get a jersy that had "Louder" on the back...gotta rethink that.
  21. I'm torn. Love Fairburn but TG is narcissistic, petty and annoying. I would hate to support him in any way.
  22. Which is what many on this board seems to be doing. Not trying to be negative, I just see the glass 56% full.
