WSJ: Buffalo's secret is a stampede
Green Lightning replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They've had many years to figure out the Patriots Offense but few if any can stop it. The way to beat us and the Pats is with a bruising pass rush, particularly from the middle to collapse the pocket. That's why Chan is opting for big bodies on the O'line. But you're right, some team is going to figure out a way to slow us down and let's hope Chan figures out a response. I'm confident he can but in the meantime, let's enjoy this ride. -
No respect at all from Cowherd
Green Lightning replied to Chimp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never listen to Cowherd anyway as his grating voice and nasal raspings is enough to give a woodpecker a headache. He hates small markets and hates cold northern cities. Fine. Shut him off. I don't want him on the bandwagon anyway. Just keep winning and he'll sound more and more like the A-Hole he is. -
Howard is the morning is great I listen all the time from Rochester, either over air or on my Droid. Schopp is a jerk and I never listen. I could care less that he suddenly "likes" the Bills. He's rude, full of himself and unlistenable most of the time.....so I don't listen.

Thanks for the civility PatsFan. Jets and Steeler fans are the worst and not to be a A-hole, but Boston fans in general have their moments. You guys have had things pretty much your way the past decade and I'll be first to say, victory aside, we're not there yet. But we are on the right road and we are going to surprise some teams (if we haven't already) Good luck against the Raiders.

I think this is the key right here. Hangman just couldn't handle the big boys and Wood is one tough mofo in the middle.
-
I could care less what those guys say or write. The less teams want to know about Freddy the better. Because they will continue to underestimate him and he will B'slap them game time. Fred Jackson is a gamer and winner. We got'em and that's enough for me. Now let's just pay the guy.

Your favorite moment from yesterdays win?
Green Lightning replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beat me to it. After 47 years watching the team, the 0:00 clock is my favorite moment. Then I can look back other highlights! -
Jerry Sullivan says: This Roster is a crumbling
Green Lightning replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's call up some Chan Gailey is a bum and came cheap threads as well. We have a old, bargain basement GM who is a asleep at the switch, a bum coach and a crumbling roster.......that just beat the Patriots and now sits on top of the AFC East. And none of this would have happened if Ralph wasn't so cheap!!!!! -
Totally agree. I can't tell you how much I hated our D under skeltor. Every 4th quarter getting pushed all over the field and giving up 3rd and a mile regularly. And as you point out on the rare occasions when we were protecting a lead.....we'd give chunks of yards up in a BS prevent. The Brownies are gonna be hating life soon.

That's harsh and just wrong. Dickie plays the tampon 2 and there is no NT in a tampon 2 defense. He would want to put Parrish in as a penetrating DT or pursuit DE.
-
It was a privilege to see Phil play and it will be a privilege to be at the game when he is enshrined. He was a great player and defines class. I remember watching him in TC taking Erik Flowers aside and trying to school him on disengaging from blockers. Didn't work but he tried.

Bills looking to extend Fitz
Green Lightning replied to Rockinon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is one of those obvious "duh" decisions. The guy needs to be Bill. He's a solid starting quarterback who is uber smart. When we draft a franchise stud, he will have the best teacher in the world at reading defenses and making quick decisions under Fitz. But I'm more interested in how far Fitz can go. Montana would not be thought of as a franchise QB based on his arm and size and that worked out pretty well. This year we'll know what the ceiling is on Fitz. So let's just get him signed, paid, do it in a professional way. -
They still talked plenty of football and there's room for talk about both teams - but remember that WGR is the voice of the Sabres. Gotta know where your bread is buttered.

ROLL CALL - Home Opener
Green Lightning replied to Lv-Bills's topic in TBD Annual Tailgate (TBDAHOT)'s Topics
Coming in from ROC. Seasons three rows down from door to Van Miller club. It doesn't suck. -
Its Hatfield and McCoy week at the
Green Lightning replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the someone else is not the wife, you're good. They don't get the watch the flat screen and should catch the game on a bad online feed. If it's the wife, it's time to grab a brew at a sports bar because the dialog back and forth would be enough to give a woodpecker a headache. -
Merriman vs Carrington and run Defense
Green Lightning replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good thought. I think they want a find a way to have him on the field in their Hybrid 34-43, but he's a natural 5 technique guy. -
Merriman vs Carrington and run Defense
Green Lightning replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Carrington's gotta play to learn all the tricks. I'll tell you this, he's a beast on a bull rush and when he learns to seal the edge and disengage from blockers, he's going to be a force. The guy just needs to play...and maybe learn from light's out. People were thinking Merriman should have made a bigger splash, but he played a great game and must be accounted for on every play. -
Howie Long: Bills are Underestimated
Green Lightning replied to TheBlackMamba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People on this board have been saying it for years. If you want the national boys to notice you, win baby. -
Impossible. Like taking the Coe College out of a Fred Jackson profile....ain't gonna happen. You have to remember, to the national media, it's like introducing Fitzy to the world everytime they write about him.

Rodney McKissic "The Bills are gonna blow this"
Green Lightning replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I've followed the team since 1963 and the "how are we going to step on it" has been played out so many times that it's just an honest feeling. If I wasn't an eternal optimist, I wouldn't be a fan for 48 years. It will take a few more wins to lose that reflex. But I wonder just how many of us long termers didn't have the fleeting thought I just expressed. Hell, I won't apologize for it, I'll just do what I do... cheer my brains out at the Ralph next week! -
Yes they do. Two full seasons gone? If if it is not a critical disease and something self inflicted (Kellen Winslow-esque) someone needs to say somthing.

Rodney McKissic "The Bills are gonna blow this"
Green Lightning replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well PTR, If everyone on this board were being truthful, we all thought that at halftime....how the Hell are they going to bone this? My brother and I text through the game and we both had that thought. Rodney's a good reporter and like anyone else on the job, reporters talk sh*t to each other. The only real measure is what their article or report says. Rodney's been a solid reporter so I wouldn't hold this against him. -
Glad it's a good day for you B'tone. I have to admit I was rooting for the Fins though. The enemy of my enemy is my friend...even if it's an enemy! Since the Pats are my most despised team, it means twice a year I root for the Jets and Fins.....it's weird to be sure.
