  1. Brian Kelly "leaving is not an option" haha, keep dreaming.....
  2. I agree that I think Brian Kelly is the coach to be had, with that said..hes NOT leaving Notre Dame, period (maybe ever, until they fire him)
  3. lol @ OP saying "with 100% certainty Russ Brandon comes to this board" ....classic....im sure if someone asked Russ what his favorite bills message boad is, his response would be "ummm...what? im trying to run an NFL franchise here man" good stuff up in hurr
  4. tell that to Dareus.... and Spiller...he has to come out because hes winded : )
  5. why are you surprised? Astrobot just said he thinks Te'o will go number 1 overall, lol....anything is fair game with his proejctions after that comment and to Astrobots earlier comment on page 1: no, I dont think Te'o will even be on the Cheifs short list at number 1....unless its b/c of a trade down possiblity tell me again though...when was the last time a LB was the first overall pick in the nfl draft? (answer: Aundray Bruce in 1988, who was a pass rushing LB thought to be the next LT - went on to have a SPECTACULAR 42 game career, and before that it was our beloved Buffalo Bills drafting Tom Cousineau in 1979) new regimes usually = new QBs (but in this supposed weak QB class, I woulndt be surprised if they DONT go QB - i just cant fathom a LB goes number 1)
  6. one reason I am high on Chip Kelly - dont know if I really do think hes the best choice for us - is because he is widely viewed as being the BEST "practice coach", in that he gets the most out of his players each and every practice...its all minute to minute scripted and as the above article talks about, very rep intensive and go-go-go type atmosphere....even if Kelly adapts his offense (which he will have to, and he will) for the NFL - he can still bring with him this uptempo, most bang for your buck practice....something ANY NFL team can benefit from I guess what it comes down to for me (and hopefully for our franchise if we want to hire him) is: how will you adapt to the NFL, who are your proven coordinators, especially on defense, and can your attitude jive with NFL players as opposed to just college players....if he has acceptable answers for all that, im more than down with Chip Kelly being red, white and blue
  7. i have to STRONGLY dissagree about Geno Smith probably being drafted before Cam Newton, lol...what on EARTH would make you think that? Smith is MAYBE a more accurate passer (he also has two pretty amazing and exciting weapons at WV that did a LOT of YAC'ing for him in Bailey and Austin - cam never had that)
  8. wait wait wait....Te'o number 1 overall??????????????????? dont get me wrong, I reallllyyy like the guy....but number 1 overall????????????? and here I thought you fancied yourself a draft guru....
  9. boom, you just got SERVED
  10. do you think the customer still had to pay for his lap dance? and if so...do you think he tipped well?
  11. taking pictures is an art form....lol
  12. why on earth would you come on here and admit to liking sea breezes with fruity ass lemons in them? : )
  13. i like the guy but I think this year he greatly benefited from awesome rookie QB play and chuck pagano sickness
  14. yea we opted to NOT rent a car, but we do have a friend who lives in the city who has said we may use her car if shes not using it - but we are trying to avoid borrowing her car, but thanks for the suggestion!
  15. cool, cool, cool....good **** guys, thanks! NoSaint - are you a bloody mary fan?
  16. anyone care to summarize for those of us who cant listen at work? (or those who dont want to take the time to listen but would rather read a recap?)
  17. thanks No Saint, your input is GREATLY appreciated couple more items if I may: - whats standard cab fare in the area? Im wondering mostly how much you think a cab would be from the bourbon st. area to Lakewood Country Club - which is a 9 mile (18 min) drive according to google maps.... - is the zoo worth checking out? dont know how familiar you with other zoos and how comparable the New Orleans one is.... - whats the best PO-BOY spot in town? love me some fried shrimp - thanks for the music suggestions, will def. be checking out dba one of the nights...are any places down there known for new rock acts off the top of your head? and lastly - is a swamp tour worth it? and do you know of any good ones?
  18. bringing back up an old topic because our trip is in three weeks...so anyone with advice please drop in....(especially NoSaint haha) planning on: - a nice meal at either Bayonna, Domenica or Cochon (anyone have any experiences here?) - planning on catching some awesome live music every night we are there (saturday, sunday and monday nights) - will def. be doing Pat O's piano bar one of those night just because we have to...but probably looking to do Frenchman st. bars the other nights - any suggestions on best ones? - def doing Cafe Du Monde one morning/afternoon - thinking about brunch uptown at Patois but could be swayed to somewhere else (if we go uptown for brunch is there anything else to do in that area or what?) - what kind of activities should we do during the day other than just walk around french quarter/bourbon st. area - MIGHT bring the clubs and golf at Lakewood country club, MIGHT.... any other suggestions would be great! Thanks!!
  19. no im saying he interviewed for that job, not saying it was offered to him, just that he was a "finalist" and as Buddy just said in the press conference when asked, "why are you confident Whaley will stick around if hes offered a GM job", Buddy said "well im confident because he has turned them down before" ya know the saying, where there is smoke, there is fire? seems like lots of people talk about and like Whaley, and im guessing its not because he has a firm hand shake and a nice hair cut...
  20. because every refutable source boasts how he is "widely respected around the league", because he was sought after for GM positions by Colts and Chiefs, because he was with Pittsburgh and learned from the best, because the plan all along has been for Buddy to be the GM bridge to Whaley, because I dont think that this "regime" (including Nix and Whaley) has been terrible what so ever....we havent had any Mike Williams or JP Losmans, we have more talent on this roster than when Nix/Whaley arrived - especially via the FA side of things that Whaley was supposedly in charge of Not every GM/regime is going to hit on 100 percent of their draft picks, there is NO ONE (not even the legendary Bill Polian for some of you) who has ever, or will ever do that...the idea is, you do your due diligence, and pick the best player at the time when your name comes up....I firmly believe we have done that - the worst draft by Nix/Whaley was when we drafted to try and fill 3-4 switch needs...and even then it looks like they may have "hit" on Carrington....yes we have not drafted our QB but that has more to do with Chan's love for Fitz and Buddys love for Chan...all of which are gone.... Im more than excited to have "more of the same" from the personnel people at OBD....
  21. of course he was at the game, he had to stop in to sign the ownership papes
