His D-coordinator at SU was Scott Shafer....not saying he will come along with Dougie Fresh (he may be offered the head job at SU or somewhere else) but I dont think he would be a bad choice at all - was the d-cord at Stanford under Harbaugh, Harbaugh said he was "one of the most creative defensive minds in football" - of course his friend would talk him up, however, Stanford had a top 10 D in the country under Shafer - d-cord at SU, brought them from in the 120's in total defense to a top 20 unit... his self described defensive style is: "Scheme is overrated, I've always believed that. What's not overrated is getting your kids to play with great effort, great attitude and great enthusiasm. Those are things we can control on a daily basis, and that will be my primary goal. . . . The philosophy of our defense is attack-oriented, attack and react. We want to be a defense this is multiple, that is always putting pressure and forcing the hand of the offense. We want to be a penetrating defense. If you're going to (ask) what our objectives are? hahaha, OK....the facts: Lewis's white suit worn the night of the murders was never found, witnesses described said man in a white suit with a knife.......Lewis and his two buddies were put on trial for the murders, Lewis copped a deal to testify against his two buddies in exchange for immunity (probably told his buddies he would "take care of them" monetarily), then all the witnesses stop talking/cant remember anything....Lewis pays the victims families an unspecified amount of money to settle out of court in civil suit.....where theres smoke, theres fire baby.... but you can keep living in a fantasy world where the baddest man on earth didnt get away with stabbing two people

lol @ trestman love....dude didnt coach football, he coached canadian football I do agree about "exhaustive search" being the wrong term, however....perhaps intentions were an exhaustive search, they interviewed Marrone and thought "jesus, this IS the guy, no doubt about it" and signed him.....he was being interviewed by other clubs

Astrobot just said he thinks Te'o will go number 1 overall, lol....anything is fair game with his proejctions after that comment and to Astrobots earlier comment on page 1: no, I dont think Te'o will even be on the Cheifs short list at number 1....unless its b/c of a trade down possiblity tell me again though...when was the last time a LB was the first overall pick in the nfl draft? (answer: Aundray Bruce in 1988, who was a pass rushing LB thought to be the next LT - went on to have a SPECTACULAR 42 game career, and before that it was our beloved Buffalo Bills drafting Tom Cousineau in 1979) new regimes usually = new QBs (but in this supposed weak QB class, I woulndt be surprised if they DONT go QB - i just cant fathom a LB goes number 1)

one reason I am high on Chip Kelly - dont know if I really do think hes the best choice for us - is because he is widely viewed as being the BEST "practice coach", in that he gets the most out of his players each and every practice...its all minute to minute scripted and as the above article talks about, very rep intensive and go-go-go type atmosphere....even if Kelly adapts his offense (which he will have to, and he will) for the NFL - he can still bring with him this uptempo, most bang for your buck practice....something ANY NFL team can benefit from I guess what it comes down to for me (and hopefully for our franchise if we want to hire him) is: how will you adapt to the NFL, who are your proven coordinators, especially on defense, and can your attitude jive with NFL players as opposed to just college players....if he has acceptable answers for all that, im more than down with Chip Kelly being red, white and blue

i have to STRONGLY dissagree about Geno Smith probably being drafted before Cam Newton, lol...what on EARTH would make you think that? Smith is MAYBE a more accurate passer (he also has two pretty amazing and exciting weapons at WV that did a LOT of YAC'ing for him in Bailey and Austin - cam never had that)
