Bills sign C Spencer Long to 3 year deal
Rob's House replied to One Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's no reason to be pessimistic. The guy's had success in the league, the coaching staff who knows what they're trying to do obviously likes him, and we have a lot of need at his position group. There could be any number of reasons for a down year - injury, scheme fit, the clap. But the Jets thought enough of him to sign him to a nice contract. Maybe he doesn't work out, but maybe this is the right fit. It's not that far fetch to think this guy could be a solid piece of the oline for years to come. It wouldn't be the first time a player floundered in one place & flourished in another. -

If healthy, Lupati would be a significant upgrade. But how much do you want to pay a guy whose greatest ability is uncertain?

He's even got Tibs quoting Ann Coulter. The man is a genius. -
I've never been big on judging individual players of team sports by championships. Even in basketball too much depends on your supporting cast, and that's with only 5 starters. Is Kevin Durant better now than he was at OKC? Was Trent Dilfer better than Dan Marino? Is Jim Kelly a better QB if Norwood makes the kick? Is Brady's performance somehow different if Viniateri misses some of those game winning kicks? Is Brett Favre a better QB if the Packers defense stopped Terrell Davis while Favre was watching from the sidelines? Were Lebron's championships in Miami more impressive than taking a mediocre Cleveland team to the finals? The obvious answer to all these questions is no, but these are often the factors that make the difference.

Why It's Urgent To Break Your Bubble
Rob's House replied to BeginnersMind's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This is part of the reason I don't unfriend or unfollow SJWs on FB, & I keep a healthy mix of commies in my twitter feed. My theory is that people who live in a bubble, just like those who want their adversaries de-platformed, are afraid that their beliefs won't stand up to scrutiny. I don't believe they're consciously aware of it, but deep down they doubt the strength of their position. -
Doesn't that just lead to inflation?

These days it's rare for something political to get me steamed, but the people like 34 who feel the need to find some way - any way - to justify demonizing these kids just boils my blood. The part that really burns me up is the arbitrary & impossible standard they're being held to. 34 et al suggest they should have been perfect, submissive angels, and should be punished unmercifully for any behavior that falls short of that. No one would ever hold kids to that standard were it not for the political implications. Notice no one has explained why they have a duty to submit to their aggressors. They're relying on the accusation that one kid made a rape joke, not to a woman, but to grown men who were calling him & his friends sodomites. It's an extremely flimsy charge, but any excuse is a good excuse to maintain their hatred. If I walked up on a group of BLM supporters like that Phillips guy did, I think everyone knows I'd have caught an ass whoopin, deservedly so, and no one would care. But the grown men who instigated a confrontation with kids are not only let off the hook, they're held up as admirable victims, and the kids are called putrid little ***** for refusing to roll over & eat *****. -

Is Rob Gronkowski a first ballot Hall of Famer?
Rob's House replied to EasternOHBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No question. I'll always think he's a dick for what he did to Tre White, but he's arguably the GOAT.
