I just saw this again and want to make it clear that this wasn't intended as a swipe at Deranged Rhino. It was a joke about the mental gymnastics lefties will go through to rationalize their bull *****. I signed it DerangedBlueDog because it had a deep state reference, and changed it to blue dog to indicate it was a Dem, but upon reading it again it occured to me this could be seen as trivializing what he contributes, which was not my intent.

That's actually a scary thought because most voters don't really follow that closely or understand the issues. I could easily see the hard left socialists taking power simply by turning out their base and carrying the know-nothings who used to stay home before the "everyone must vote" crap picked up steam.

I agree with you wrt substantive attacks against her for this. But poking fun at her for being a nitwit who thinks she knows how to manage the finances of 300+ million people when she can barely manage her own isn't so bad. She's playing in the big leagues now, whether she belongs or not. Most (not all) of what I've seen directed at her is light-hearted humor, rather than mean-spirited vitriol. For that, she should consider herself fortunate. If she had an R after her name it would be an entirely different story.

It's funny how he's portrayed as either a villain or a hero. He's neither. He's just a dude who made a business decision. Personally, I don't think it was a wise one, but I could be wrong. I suppose he could have had a career ending injury, although that seems unlikely. With modern medicine most guys come back. An injury might have hurt his value going forward, but would it hurt it by more than $14.5 million? I doubt it, but we'll never know. It will be interesting to see how much guaranteed money he gets in his next contract. $14.5 mil is pretty good security for a RB these days.
